"Wha-what?" Kalaini gasped and walked back a little.

Who were these bugs and what do they want? They were not here in the beginning so what was going on exactly? Kalaini was out of words.

She was a talkative person but right now even she didn't have anything to say, "so what do we do then?" Kalaini's face turned pale, "I wasn't expecting this to happen..." She whispered to herself.

She thought that remembering the plot, everything will go well for her and her teammates, while everyone was focused on fighting the monsters, she and Kali would be able to stop the drug smuggling and innocent deaths.

This was not her plan, her plot got ruined. Not only her plan was shattered but the storyline had changed too and the system seemed to have no control over it.

"So what about the rest of the missions?" Kalaini spoke to the system.

[The missions are still on, follow the lead]

[Goodbye]

It turned itself off leaving no hope for Kalaini, A sense of despair overcame her as she suddenly felt like giving up.

Kalaini could feel the tears running down her cheek but she held them back. She couldn't cry because if she cried then she'll lose all hope.

If she does, then she won't know what to do anymore. Everything has been lost. She closed her eyes and took deep breaths trying to calm herself down.

When she opened her eyes again, she saw Kali standing with an angry look on her face, "Kali why are you glaring at me?" Kalaini said while looking her in the eye.

"You shouldn't have done that!" Kali shouted, "We can still save everyone together! We just need to find another way to stop the smugglers from taking any more drugs into the city!" For a minute, Kali forgot about the guys they just fought.

"Yes, but have you seen the system? It said there were bugs! Even the system can't help us!"

Two of them were fighting with words and glancing at each other. Both were mad for having to go through this but it was none of their fault. They both had no idea what to do.

While they were feeling helpless, they both forgot about the main enemy right now; the monsters were still attacking the castle and they were far away from there.

"You know, Kalaini this whole stupid place is pissing me off," said Kali when she took a deep breath, "I'm tired and exhausted, I want to get out of here..."

"We will, I promise you!" Kalaini leaned closer to her, "not this place, I wanna go home, my home..." Water started filling Kali's eyes.

Now both women stood in the middle of the dark with no knowledge of what to do and what awaits them...

Kalaini and Kali both ignored the third person chasing after them, and when they both lost their focus the man jumped from the air trying to attack Kalaini with a sword.

"Are you alright!"

Kali managed to catch up to Kalaini in time to block her attacker's blow, but he was able to land another hit on Kali who had stumbled backwards.

Her left leg was cut open by his blade, causing her to fall to the ground. The other man quickly moved up to Kalaini while she was still lying on the floor, ready for an easy kill.

"Another one?" Kalaini's eyes opened wider, "what the heck is going on here?" She stood up, looking at the two men. She noticed that the first attacker's face had been burned off completely, and the second one of him was now standing right next to her. He was holding a sword in his hands, ready to strike again at any moment.

"Looks like this was your doing..." Kali turned around and started walking away. "He doesn't look very strong... I'll just have to go ahead and finish him off." Weird words were coming out of her mouth.

A huge rush of adrenaline was flowing through her veins, forcing her to say incredible things.

The man approached Kalaini slowly as he waited for her to turn back towards him, but she didn't budge. Instead, she looked down at the man's foot, which was bleeding profusely.

"What are you doing?!" Kali yelled, rushing over to the man and grabbing hold of his ankle.

In a flash of movement, she kicked him so hard that it sent him flying into the trees, cracking it in half.

"Tch... how stupid..." Kali muttered under her breath as she watched the man fall to the ground and roll onto his back. f𝔯ℯe𝓌ℯ𝐛𝒏𝐨ѵel.c𝚘𝐦

"Oh well, no matter what happens, I need to get out of here before the others arrive."

She turned around and saw that Kalaini was now surrounded by four people wielding swords. They were all wearing dark clothing similar to hers, and each one had a mask covering their face.

"Well, lookie here..." One of the masked men commented, "A little girl dressed in black fighting against four of us?"

"You're not getting away that easily..." A tall man with short blond hair added.

"We've got you covered, girl."

"I don't know who you think you're talking to, but you're wrong..." Kalaini said, taking a few steps forward, "And if you try to fight me, you'll regret it."

"Don't be stupid," the tall man laughed, "you can never beat me..."

The four men looked at one another before moving to surround Kalaini. 𝑓𝐫𝑒e𝒘𝚎𝘣𝚗𝘰𝘷𝐞𝑙.co𝑚

"Alright, let's see what you've got..."

The tall man stepped forward and swung his sword towards Kalaini's head.

"Hyaaah!" Kali ran towards him and blocked the strike with the hilt of the branch she picked up from the ground before. The force of the impact caused it to fly out of her hands, and she fell to the ground.

"Get up! Get up!" The tall man yelled, kicking Kali in the chest as he continued to swing at her.

Kali rolled backwards, then got up and grabbed the man's leg, using her momentum to spin him around. She threw him into one of the others, knocking them both down.

"Shit!" The tall man screamed as he fell to the ground.

As the other three men tried to get back up, Kali took advantage of the distraction and began beating each one of them with her fists.

Surprisingly, she was no longer in her dragon form but she had the dragon's strength, 'I should summon the system for the update,' she thought as she glanced at Kalaini.
