Queen Mommy's Six Genius Babies Found the CEO Daddy-Chapter 183: The Fan
Billy rubbed the spot where he’d been knocked and watched them leave with a pitiful expression.
Sakura Hotel.
Lucas stepped out first, with Sophia right behind him.
In an instant, every spotlight snapped toward them.
But no matter how Sophia moved—every gesture, every glance—there wasn’t a single flaw for the cameras to catch.
She looked at the reporters and waved gently. "The weather’s getting colder. Make sure you all stay warm."
Her words surprised the media, but somehow also touched them.
Inside the hotel, the atmosphere was completely different from outside.
The moment they entered, several business tycoons immediately surrounded them.
"Mr. Hilton, long time no see. And this must be your lovely wife—she’s even more stunning in person than on TV."
Sophia smiled politely. "Thank you."
Lucas felt a twinge of irritation.
Everyone looked like they were approaching him, but their eyes were clearly fixed on his wife.
He narrowed his eyes.
Suddenly—
"Sophia?"
Sophia turned around. "Steven?"
"Oh my God, Sophia, it really is you! This is great—I’ve finally found you. You have no idea how long I’ve been looking. People told me you moved back home and I didn’t believe them, but here you are, at the DS banquet. It’s been so long, and you’re still as beautiful as ever—"
Steven grabbed her hand, lowering his head to kiss the back of it.
But suddenly—
The delicate, fair hand in front of him turned into a bigger, distinctly masculine one.
Lucas had pulled Sophia’s hand away, his voice icy. "My wife isn’t available for such close contact."
"And you are—?"
"Steven, I’m sorry," Sophia said gently. "He’s my husband."
Steven froze.
Back then, he had liked her—a lot. Even after he learned she had a child and was a single mother, that only made him want to protect her more.
And now, after just a few months of not seeing her... she was someone else’s wife?
"Sophia... are you serious? He’s really your husband? Don’t lie to me. I didn’t just come here for business—I came hoping to find you. And I did... but you’re telling me you’re married now? How is that possible? I didn’t even receive a wedding invitation!"
Steven’s reaction was intense.
Sophia hesitated. Back when she got married—not many people knew. They had treated it like a formality, not a grand ceremony.
But now, standing beside Lucas for real... she suddenly felt the wedding had been incomplete. A little regrettable.
Lucas pulled her behind him. "Mr. Steven, she is my wife. We legally married, with blessings in front of everyone. And we already have our marriage certificate. If you’re upset that you couldn’t attend our wedding, I can only offer my apologies."
Trying to steal his woman?
Please. He could see straight through that man—the way Steven’s mind was full of Sophia was obvious.
Men’s instincts were sometimes painfully accurate.
Sophia tugged on Lucas’s sleeve and whispered, "He’s my friend. He helped me a lot in the past. We’re just friends."
Lucas squeezed her hand and murmured back, "I know what I’m doing. I’m just cutting off whatever he’s still hoping for."
"’Hoping for’?"
Sophia blinked, confused.
"You’re Lucas—Mr. Hilton."
"That’s right."
Steven suddenly looked as if he’d discovered a new continent. He reached out his hand enthusiastically.
"I really admire you. Honestly, you’re exactly the kind of man I’ve always pictured in my mind. If Sophia truly ended up with someone like you, I wouldn’t have a single complaint."
Lucas raised a brow.
That escalated quickly.
Just moments ago the guy looked like he had feelings for Sophia... and now he was acting like Lucas’s biggest fan.
"Hello," Lucas said.
Steven smiled brightly. "To be honest, Sophia is an incredibly exceptional woman. Her success comes entirely from her own hard work—I’ve seen it all. We’ve worked together for years, so I consider myself her friend. I thought if I waited long enough, I’d get the chance to confess and maybe ask her to be with me. I didn’t expect you to beat me to it. But this is the first time I’m actually happy about it—you two fit each other perfectly."
"Steven..."
Sophia was stunned. She truly had never imagined he felt this way.
"Sophia, I know you’re surprised, but you have to believe it—you do have that kind of charm. Enough to drive anyone crazy over you."
Steven’s unabashed praise made her cheeks turn slightly warm.
Suddenly, someone nearby said, "Young Master Brown, congratulations to you tonight~"
They turned to look.
Damien was surrounded by a crowd of influential guests.
Everyone attending the banquet tonight was a major figure in the industry.
Jacob was giving his son every opportunity possible—every spotlight, every advantage.
Damien smiled politely, clinked glasses with a few people, then walked over.
"Long time no see."
Sophia raised a brow.
Lucas’s hostility toward him had never lessened—but Damien had saved Sophia’s life.
"It has been a while," Lucas said coolly. "Last time we spoke, Young Master Brown claimed he was just a regular guy running a small business. And now—suddenly—the future heir of DS?"
"Lucas, isn’t your hostility toward me a little too obvious?"
"Damien~"
A sugary, flirtatious voice suddenly approached.
A pink figure stepped up beside Damien and wrapped her arm around his shoulder in a very familiar way.
Sophia was slightly surprised.
"Damien, I waited for you for so long. You finally came~"
Damien’s brow twitched almost imperceptibly—clearly not thrilled.
"Daisy."
Daisy Clark blinked her big round eyes innocently. "Damien, aren’t you going to introduce me?"
Sophia didn’t recognize her at all.
Lucas, however, did.
"She’s the eldest daughter of the Clark Family."
"The Clark Family? The Clark Family from City C?"
The Clark Family of City C practically monopolized the medical device industry domestically—they were a major force.
Lucas had worked with them before.
But Daisy’s overly forward attitude back then irritated him so much that he ended their partnership.
After that, all his medical equipment came from overseas.
"She’s Daisy, the eldest daughter of the City C Clark Family," Damien explained.
Then he gestured toward the group. "And this is Lucas, his wife Sophia beside him, and behind them Mr. Steven. They’re all important guests."
Daisy’s smile grew even brighter.
"Mr. Hilton—we’ve met before."
