Quick Transmigration: Drama Queen's Daily Life-Chapter 934 - 923: The Villain Mom’s Little One
"Thank you for today." Downstairs at the apartment, Ye Ran held Ye Qiu’s hand and thanked Huo Xian.
"No need to thank me, it was my pleasure." Then, naturally, he grabbed Ye Qiu’s other hand, ready to go upstairs.
Ye Ran was taken aback: "President Huo, what are you doing?"
Huo Xian said matter-of-factly: "I promised Xiaoqiu to be her dad for a day today, and there’s still six hours before the day ends."
"Daddy carry!" Ye Qiu cheered, breaking free from Ye Ran’s hand.
"Let’s go, daddy will carry you upstairs, then watch cartoons with you and read you stories." Huo Xian said dotingly, and before Ye Ran could speak, he walked in with his long legs.
Ye Ran stood there dumbfounded; since when did President Huo become so unreasonable? Doesn’t he know it’s impolite to barge into a single woman’s home?
Of course, Huo Xian knew, but dealing with a prickly person like Ye Ran, gentle methods obviously wouldn’t work. Luckily, he had a little assistant now, so why not seize the moment?
Huo Xian entered the room and took in the full view at a glance, and speaking of which, this apartment was originally chosen by the company for her. However, after more than two years, the apartment that used to be cold and lifeless now had much more of a lived-in feel.
Although there was a child, the room was very clean and tidy, with the occasional toy filled with childlike fun visible on the sofa or coffee table.
"Daddy, sit here." Ye Qiu said very naturally and enthusiastically, not caring at all about Ye Ran’s awkward expression.
Just kidding, it’s not easy for Uncle Huo to be willing to change his pursuit strategy, she definitely had to cooperate a little.
The grudge against her grandparents and mom had to be avenged, but her mom’s happiness in the latter half of her life was also very important. There were many ways to get revenge, there was no need to trade life for life, those people weren’t worth it.
"Look, these are my treasures." She mysteriously brought out a small box from her room.
"What’s inside? Can I see?" Huo Xian asked very cooperatively.
"These are all pictures of me and Mom." She took out an album and opened it excitedly.
Ye Ran was stunned, when did she have an album with her daughter? She was also drawn over, sitting down on the other side.
She didn’t realize that this scene looked very much like a family of three, particularly warm.
Huo Xian squinted his eyes, thinking this was exactly the feeling of home he was looking for.
"Where did this album come from?" Ye Ran didn’t remember buying this, she asked, curious.
"I traded a doll for it at the community." Ye Qiu said proudly.
Ye Ran pursed her lips again, realizing she had been ignoring her daughter too much. She knew the community often had exchange activities, but wasn’t aware of when her daughter participated or what she did.
"And the pictures inside?" She asked again, because she didn’t recall taking her daughter for any photos, except for the time needed for kindergarten.
"This one was taken when I met Uncle Huo, Aunt Mary took it." Ye Qiu explained one by one.
"This one was taken by the kindergarten teacher the first time I went."
"And this one, at Mom’s celebration party."
Ye Qiu turned page after page, her little mouth incessantly recalling each photo’s origin.
"Mom, look, I’m so smart, I got all the photos back." Ye Ran noticed that most of the photos were candid shots, and the ones with her daughter together were the most. Her daughter often smiled at the camera, while she either looked elsewhere or was expressionless.
The daughter in the photos smiled sweetly, as if she were the happiest child in the world.
But only Ye Ran knew how much she owed her.
"Xiaoqiu is really capable." Huo Xian ruffled Ye Qiu’s head and pretended to be pitiful, "But why are there so few photos of Daddy in here?"
Actually, Huo Xian was already very pleased, as he was the one appearing most frequently outside of the mother and daughter. Didn’t this prove he was the most special to Xiaoqiu?
Indeed, if he weren’t the most special, how could Xiaoqiu let him be her dad?
"Here, I got today’s photos back too." She mysteriously took out a book from her backpack, which indeed had a few photos in-between.
There were ones of him with Xiaoqiu, ones of Xiaoqiu with Ye Ran, and the most satisfying was the last one, with him and Ye Ran standing on either side of Xiaoqiu, both looking down and smiling at her, like a real family of three.
Huo Xian’s throat moved: "Daddy likes this one the most, what about Xiaoqiu?"
"Me too." She answered, then exchanged a smile with Huo Xian, looking like two little foxes.
Of course, Ye Ran also saw this photo, her face immediately turning red, feeling a bit helpless.
She felt if she stayed any longer, her heart would waver, so she decided to go to the kitchen to cook.
"Mom’s shy." Ye Qiu said, holding her face, "Mom’s not brave at all."
"Xiaoqiu, you even understand what shy means?" Huo Xian asked with a laugh, his gaze towards the kitchen full of tenderness.
"Of course, Mom’s embarrassed, Uncle Huo, Mom’s embarrassed to face you." She said matter-of-factly.
"Why do you say that? And why aren’t you calling me Dad anymore?"
"Because Mom can’t hear us, I purposely said it for Mom to hear."
"Oh?" Huo Xian raised an eyebrow.
Ye Qiu looked at him obediently: "Uncle Huo, you’re chasing my mom, right?"
"Yes, do you want me to catch your mom?"
"If not, why would I call you Dad?" Ye Qiu snorted softly.
"With so many people chasing your mom, why did you choose me?" Huo Xian was very pleased.
"Because only you treat Mom the best, I can feel it."
"Our Xiaoqiu is really smart." Huo Xian sighed, thinking today’s kids are so insightful, how come they are so understanding?
"But Uncle Huo, you’re too useless, it’s been so long and you haven’t made Mom accept you."
That was a jab to the heart, and Huo Xian said with a hurt expression: "Then how do you plan to help me?"
"I’ve already helped enough." Ye Qiu puffed her little face, seriously educating him, "Uncle Huo, you adults’ lifelong affairs should be pursued by yourselves, how can you rely on me, a little child? Your kind of thinking is not right."
Huo Xian chuckled: "You even know about mindsets?"
"Of course, I’m not a three-year-old child anymore."
Huo Xian genuinely laughed aloud now: "Yes, you have less than two months before you’re four, definitely not a three-year-old."
Ye Qiu knew she had acted silly again, ever since becoming a child, this happened often. But it didn’t matter, as long as the task was completed, as long as it made Huo Xian take initiative, what did a little embarrassment matter?
