Chapter 70 - Meeting

"How do I look?" Nora asked in a sweet voice, trying out flirting. She had barely any skills for flirting, since she had very little experience.

"You look very good," Kadir said as he walked in. He felt himself starting to lust for her. "This will definitely work." Kadir said as his eyes lingered on her breasts, his eyes caught on the necklace. The Sedai were thrilled about Astra's birth and sent them this large necklace. Kadir felt a measure of pride seeing her donned in gifts from his family. He felt the tips of his ears heat and stirring below. He spun on his heel and walked into the closet. Kadir had some reservations about doing this, it was manipulative in a way. He felt possessive, he knew it was wrong. She was not his alone and never would be. She deserves more respect. She could attract anyone, even if she was dressed in a space suit.

This was Liem and Cerez's work. Dressing her up in an overtly seductive manner and having her flirt as a test. Nora would try to find an excuse for some light physical contact to gauge whether he was repulsed by all women, or if it was just Matriarch types. It was also to make sure that he would not hurt her. Kadir knew that it was necessary to check this before sending the Bind request in. At least it would not come as a surprise to him. Kai would bring the power of Setton alongside him if they were at least able to persuade him to live with them. Living with a person that was disgusted by you was not good for people's mental health. Kai had complained to him at a banquet over a year ago about being home.

Cerez, Liem and himself met Kai in their elective combat and physical training education lessons. He whipped them into capable and confident men, taught them to mask their emotions. Kadir remembered how hard of a hit Kai had in him. Kadir had his jaw fractured in a fist fight before eventually becoming bonded brothers with him. Kai occasionally self-destructed on stimulants and ended up in recreational fights. He never raised his hand to the weak. But a Matriarch was on another level. Kai hated his Mother and his Grand Matriarch even more. He could not say in training what happened to him, but when he first came back to Callor, he was in rough shape. If he hurt her, his daughters or himself, he would not be able to forgive himself. He wanted the best for his friend as well. He could carefully avoid women with a mother like Solina and follow his uncles and great uncles' legacy. Solina had a lot of sons. Kadir turned on the shower to quickly bathe and stripped. He let out a sigh as he stood under the cascading water.

'A sigh of relief, a sigh of frustration, a sigh of sadness all sound the same, Kadir. Keep your emotions in check, soldier.' as Kai would say.' Kadir thought. Kadir quickly finished, dried himself sufficiently and dressed in time to meet the others by the entrance. Nora felt nervous leaving her children behind with the Allari, without one of the spousal group with them. They were gracious enough to care for them in their residence and not in the direct compound since they were sleeping when they had left. This was the first time they had been out as a group since before Astra and Sirona were born. The windows of the transport were wide open so Nora could see the scenery. She had been out in the country with Clan Halid when she and Cerez were conceiving.

'This looks like the site for a resort, this is so beautiful.' Nora thought happily. The building was not far from the Allari, it was also on the coast. Nora's eyes widened with excitement as she saw all the pristine beaches. The transport slowed. Excitement built up inside her. Unknowingly to her, gentle gazes fell upon her face from time to time. Kadir's lips formed into a happy crescent as an excited gasp escaped her lips.

"You did that for me?" Nora said in a trembling happy voice as she pointed out the window.

"Yes, my Love. The land is part of my dowry. After our talks, I found the symbol only fitting. It is my second name now, after all." Kadir's eyes happily followed her pointed finger to the building. Nora stood briefly looking out the window at the towering building. The building was huge. Her eyes welled as she saw the large Feather logo on the side of the building. A 'Quill' back on earth was an old feather pen. She was absolutely touched to see her spouse's tribute to her. When she explained the meaning behind her name to them, Kadir believed it was really fitting. They would be the implementation of creation and change. They would be free to write history. They would use words not violence for change.

"Thank you Kadir." Nora fought the inertia and planted a firm loving kiss upon his lips. He really wished that she would be more careful while traveling. Kadir pulled her into his lap as they approached the docking station. He did not want her to fall. He embraced her and kissed her back. He pulled away and adjusted her slipped veil.

"We are here." Kadir said with a smile. Nora's head turned to look out the window. He was already here. Kai was a large man. He had a rich dark complexion and cropped black hair. He was very muscular. Nora's face registered embarrassment. She then quickly smiled and waved

"Hello." Nora said loudly. Cerez laughed loudly at the sight.

"He cannot hear you or see you in the vehicle, silly. Get up, and we will get you ready," Cerez said.

"Oh alright. I totally forgot. It is this location that is so beautiful. It totally made me forget." Nora said, trying to cover up for her embarrassment.

"Yes, you can remember all that knowledge, and you suddenly forget the simplest things like one-way windows. Kadir, your lips." Liem teased. Kadir wiped the gloss off his face.

Liem knew Kai would already be waiting for them, it was his personality to be overly prompt. He, however, smiled as he took his time sorting out the finishing touches. Kai had woken him up early for years for grueling training. Liem looked out at Kai as he watched the familiar look of annoyance crawl on his normally composed face. He was hard to annoy. Liem felt a pang of glee. "Why not go out and talk with him, Kadir, while we finish up?" Liem said finally. Kadir shook off the happy look on his face. He opened the door of the transport. The door opened up with a smooth rolling motion and a light clicking noise. He stood up from his seat and made his way to the door.

"I will go out first before you do. Wait here for a couple of moments, alright?" Kadir said. Kadir disembarked and gave Kai a nod. "Hello, Kai. Thank you for waiting and meeting with us. My spousal group and Nora are waiting in the cabin of the transport. We will take you through some of the safety mechanisms we have already devised. Thank you for your consent and for signing our privacy contract. Will you be okay with her present?" Kadir asked.

"I do not want to offend," Kai said.

"Alright, Nora can disembark now." Kadir pounded on the hood of the transport. The other two should have had enough time to check her clothing. Liem poked his head out of the transport and smiled. He then jumped out. Liem closed the door to the transport. It rumbled along to the front of the building and continued its journey to the front of the building and onward to the garage to make it look like they would be disembarking there.

"Kai, it has been years. I swear your arms are thicker every time I see you." Liem said to his old friend as he exited the cabin with excitement.

"Liem, late to rise as always." Kai teased as he gave him a hardy friendly pat on the back. Cerez exited the transport with a hop, he noticed there was a substantial jump. He took the initiative to grab Nora by the waist and lift her down. Nora giggled slightly as he raised her up in the air.

"Hey, put me down!" Nora said in a playful voice.

"Not yet." Cerez said, teasing her. Suddenly, the large necklace swung down and hit him in the forehead.

"Pfft!" Nora laughed. "That is what you get! Geez, this thing is way too big. It left a red mark. Let me blow on it" Nora said.

"I should put you down." Cerez said, a blush crept across his face from embarrassment. He gently placed her down on the ground.

'I think I will need to muster up the courage to do this. I have opinions of my own and this feels bad. If I do not like this guy, that is that. If this embarasses me, I will never go along with it again.' Nora thought. She was fuming when she realized what they were doing and when they broke it to her.

"You do not need to guard me or anything, there is no one around, go see your friend." Nora said. Cerez walked to greet Kai. He rubbed his forehead a little. Nora sighed happily and took a moment to herself. All of her spouses were focused on someone else finally for a moment. It was stressful enough to come out like this, dressed like this, to basically recruit Kai. She took the opportunity to scratch herself and adjust her clothing. The necklace was caught on the edge of her veil, she hated wearing it out. It was apparently on trend at the moment. Next, she tightened the tie on her bodice. It was definitely the wrong accessory to wear with a dress with a front tie. Her veil slipped down to the ground, cascading to the ground and out on to the dirt.
