Raised From The Wild-Chapter 368: Find Them!
A heavyset man clad in khaki work pants and a gray collared shirt adorned with the hotel’s logo over the right chest area carried a blueprint. The utility belt, fastened around his waist, had two guns in it. He hurriedly approached the group of waiters and joined them. With a determined wave of his hand, he sought to capture the attention of the hostage-takers disguised as waiters.
He tasked a two-person team to stand by in the rooms connected to all the air ducts. Since the grand ballroom was located on the second floor, there were only a limited number of rooms, mostly lounge areas and restrooms. As a result, only 15 teams were deployed.
The man dressed in janitor clothes spoke with a stern tone, conveying a sense of authority. "You know what to do. Don’t give them a chance to fight back," he instructed, exuding the confidence of a leader.
Unfortunately, Leon was more cunning than him. He cut a hole in the air duct using what looked like a pen. He intended to lead the group out of the air duct.
"Where did you get that? How could it cut a galvanized steel with such a small blade?" Prince Raquim asked curiously. He happened to be behind Leon.
"This is from Zion Tech. This is their latest innovative product." Leon said with a hint of pride.
Princess Amaya, who had shifted from lying on her stomach to a fetal position, listened curiously. "Isn’t Zion Tech the company that Marx and Dave registered in Lireya more than two years ago?" She tilted her head to the left, where Vaquez curled himself into a ball because the air duct was too cramped. He was unafraid that the duct would give way because he knew steel beams supported it.
"Yes, Princess. Marx did not stay idle when he left the Skylar Conglomerate to follow you in Lireyea."
Princess Amaya blushed as a warm feeling engulfed her, recalling how Marx had given up her CEO role in Usturia to accompany her in Lireya.
"Zion Tech? Why have I never come across it before? Is it a new startup company?" Prince Raquim, despite being engrossed in observing Leon using the pen cutter, heard the conversation between Princess Amaya and her guard.
"I can introduce you to their sales team. They have a lot of useful stuff that your guards can use to protect you." Leon said casually. He saw the crown prince of Albanya as a potentially big customer for Zion Tech.
Prince Raquim was about to respond when Leon skillfully created a sizable hole in the air duct, allowing them to crawl through.
Leon was the first to crawl out, followed closely by Princess Amaya. They had to carefully choose where to place their weight, ensuring that they crawled only where the beams would support them.
Leon led the way silently and moved fast. After a few minutes, Leon stopped and cut through the ceiling with the same pen. The ceiling in this area was made from drywall, which was not removable, unlike in other areas made from removable tiles.
Leon wasted no time creating a gaping hole in the ceiling. He effortlessly leaped down to the floor below. As he landed, he found himself in the event equipment storage room. This was according to his expectations. He and Valdez had memorized the hotel’s layout, and they knew all escape routes by heart.
His initial intention was to position a table below the hole in the ceiling so the princess could descend safely, but to his surprise, Princess Amaya had already made her way down to the floor.
Leon’s gaze lingered on Princess Amaya. She discarded her traditional Lireyan dress in the restroom because it would hinder their escape. She wore black cycling shorts and a tube top underneath her dress. It was her habit to wear protective garments under gowns or formal attires after she witnessed a duke’s daughter have a wardrobe malfunction when a love rival schemed against her at one of the parties she attended. It was an embarrassing moment that Princess Amaya did not want to go through.
Leon took something from his backpack and passed it to Princess Amaya. "Please wear this, Princess, as we will be exiting the hotel soon."
Princess Amaya accepted the folded cloth. It was a black tracksuit and a pair of socks. She did not hesitate to put them on, and she was done before the three other men came down from the ceiling.
Leon looked at the door thoughtfully before pushing a few heavier tables to barricade the door. Vasquez, Prince Raquim, and his guard pushed more tables to increase the blockage.
The storage room has a high window, and the five people use it as their exit route from the hotel. Princess Amaya and her two guards rappel to the ground using the ultra-thin rope that coiled around their wristwatches and served as watch guards. They tapped on their watches, and a silver line akin to a cobweb shot out from their watches and attached itself to the wall. In no time, the three of them were standing on the ground looking at the two men above with looks that said, ’Hurry Up.’
Prince Raquim and his guard, who were left at the window sill trying to tie their rope to an anchor, were dumbfounded. The crown prince blushed in embarrassment. He realized how weak and backward their security tools were. If not for Princess Amaya’s guards, he felt that he was already dead meat.
After five minutes, the Prince of Albanya and his guard reached the ground.
They were at the back of the hotel, where the garbage disposal was. The hotel was so big that the hostage takers were not able to secure all areas. They only managed to secure the main entry point of the second and ground floors.
Princes Amaya’s security team, including Layla, arrived with a few more men in dark clothes. Prince Raquim looked around but did not see his security detail. He wondered how Princess Amaya’s security team could be there that fast?
The men in dark clothes started scaling the wall. They entered the second floor through the same window from which Prince Raquim and Princess Amaya exited.
After a few minutes, five people got out of a black vehicle parked nearby.
When Princess Amaya and Prince Raquim passed by them, the two royalties were shocked.
