Raising Ducks for Daily Rewards-Chapter 44: Spring Rain Cloud Spell
"Let’s go out, Zimu is probably quacking out of worry, haha," Fengyu chuckled at the thought of Zimu frantically flapping his feathers and quacking at Silver Feather and Spring Rain.
Crack
The door opened with a crack, sunlight falling in.
"Fengyu! Quack, Fengyu! Did you break through? Quack, quack, quack?!" Zimu shouted the moment he saw even the slightest crack.
"Quack, quack, quack..." Silver Feather laughed at Zimu’s behaviour.
"Hmph, what do you know? Humans are so frail, even frailer than we ducks! Quack, what if something happened?"
"Quack, quack, quack, quack!" Spring Rain told him that the weather was good and that there would be no misfortune.
"Quack, weather? Are you stupid or am I? Why would humans care about the weather when breaking through?" Zimu quacked at him angrily and turned away.
"Quack, quack quaaack, quack quack quack." Silver Feather refuted, telling him not to be so angry at their junior brother when he was just trying his best.
"Alright, alright, you guys’ quacking has reached my ears, you’re so loud!
Especially you, Silver Feather. Don’t you know to quack a bit quieter?
Your quacks sound like you’re a rooster trying to make me wake up!" Fengyu couldn’t stand it anymore and opened the door fully, shouting at them.
"Quack! Quack quack quack!" Silver Feather quacked at him even louder, telling him to take such an insult back.
"Quack, quaaaack, quaaaaaaack," Spring Rain pointed his wing at her and laughed aloud.
"Quack, you two are a couple of troublemakers. Go away, go, quack, quaaack," Zimu shooed them away with his quacks.
Left alone with Fengyu, he calmed down and asked solemnly, "Did the breakthrough go well? You didn’t injure yourself, right?"
"Haha, no need to worry. Breakthroughs for us humans aren’t trials of pain like for you beasts. Well, at least not when we break through normally.
Anyways, I’m healthy as can be, my foundation is stable, and my spiritual power is abundant.
What about you?
I can feel that your spiritual power has become even more concentrated than before."
"Quack," Zimu nodded, "I can force a breakthrough now and advance my bloodline afterward, but the result would be damage to my bloodline.
Instead, I will keep concentrating my bloodline and break through with my bloodline first..."
"What if you do both at the same time?"
"Quack?"
"Well, I just thought, usually, when successfully breaking through, you will have a sudden inspiration.
If you break through with both at the same time, you might be able to use this inspiration to push your own bloodline even further, don’t you think?"
"Quack... this might be the case. Should I try it out? But breaking through will change my whole body, and it’s not like human breakthroughs that are harmless."
"Oh don’t worry about that, don’t you have me?
I will continue to cast the Vitality Recovery and Wood Recovery Spell on you the whole time.
With my current cultivation, I think I should be able to absorb enough spiritual power to constantly keep one spell active, and switching between the spells won’t be difficult.
Combined with my flute, the resulting power should be enough to allow you to recover from the brink of death."
Usually such spells are extremely rare, but if you’re present from the start, then you can achieve the effect of bringing someone from the brink of death back to life with a lower spell.
This is one of the reasons why Spiritual Doctors are so highly sought after.
One part is to get healed after being hurt, and another important part is to get healed right before and during the injury, leaving no hidden injuries in whatever one’s doing that damages their vitality.
"Your spells are already so powerful? Quack, then let’s do it."
"Heh, they’re currently still a bit weak, but since you said your bloodline is still lacking a bit, then I will have some time to refine them further.
Although it won’t do much, I will be able to get used to my power by then and try out how to do it." Fengyu thought about it and realised that there might be a technique that specifically aims at continuous healing using a spell as the foundation.
"Let me check out the library later, maybe we can find something good," Fengyu gave a last reply to Zimu.
As for a spell that helps breakthroughs directly?
He doubted such a high-grade spell would be sold. But he could try to find one anyways.
Going into his field again, he saw Silver Feather and Spring Rain waiting just a few metres away from the hut.
"You two, no need to worry so much. Everything was alright. You should focus on your own breakthrough," Fengyu felt touched when he saw them like that.
"Quack, quack." Silver Feather told him that it felt slightly swollen lately and that a breakthrough would take some time.
"Quack, quack, quack." Spring Rain told him that it only needed to cultivate for another year before it could advance. After all, its bloodline is of the high grade!
"Hmm, that’s good. Spring Rain, can you cast your innate spell again?"
"Quack," Spring Rain nodded and flapped its wings.
He rose into the air, flapping his wings stronger and stronger, an invisible wind gathering.
Finally, the wind transformed into a cloud around him!
And, with the cloud, gentle rain fell down –
"Spring Rain’s innate ability, Spring Rain Cloud, is truly a great spell," Fengyu couldn’t help but exclaim.
The spiritual rain that fell contained spiritual power from the air, and it also contained a special vitality belonging to spring.
It would increase the growth of all things, a truly wonderful spell!
Looking at it, he waved his hand and shouted a spell, "Spring Rain Cloud, Gather!"
A white cloud, slightly grey, gathered in front of him and rose into the air.
Rain fell from the cloud, containing an even greater amount of spiritual power and vitality.
But Fengyu shook his head, "This spell is a better version of the Small Rain Cloud Spell, by many times... but how can it compare with hiding in the clouds, something that only Spring Rain can do?"
He sighed slightly.
Silver Feather had her feathers as a natural enhancing factor, and Spring Rain could gather the cloud around himself, hiding him in the clouds and allowing for continuous flight with no issues.
