Raising Ducks for Daily Rewards-Chapter 67: Wolf Den
The night passed and day arrived.
Fengyu was told to attend the Village Hall in a week, it was a court order...
He checked on the twins and saw they had also received one.
After making arrangements for going together, he went back and rested for another half day.
When the night broke and the moon in the sky was bright, he was on the edge of his field, about to leave.
"Quack... quack quack?"
"Yes I have to leave. If I don’t even hold my word, what am I? I’d be a demon cultivator, no... they also hold their word to kill people and destroy the world. Anyways, hehe, this is just a short trip.
Don’t worry, I’ll take Zimu with me. If it comes to it, I’ll be able to escape with his help." Fengyu said as he patted Zimu in his arms.
Seeing his determination, Silver Feather, Spring Rain and Wind Claw could only go back and protect the field in his absence.
Fengyu walked out of the field and hurried his steps.
After entering the forest, he started running and used his spell, constantly guided by Zimu in the dark night.
...
Three hours later, Fengyu stopped in the forest in front of a hill, not approaching it directly.
"Zimu, do you want to go with me or wait here for me?" he asked.
"Take me with you! If we have to run away, we should take the best way right away instead of delaying it by having to pick me up. Quack, you said they’re trustworthy, so I’ll believe you." Zimu didn’t have much trust in these wolves, for their whole mountain lacked peacefulness in every sense.
He didn’t know what meant peace, but seeing how it lacked peace, he didn’t want to go there. For a proper judgement he has to rely on Fengyu rather than being biased and trusting the peace right away.
After all, even the extremely peaceful village turned out to have dangerous times...
Fengyu waited no longer and walked out of the forest, approaching the hill ahead.
"Woof!" he suddenly heard a woof from at the side, a small wolf popping out of the forest and warning him.
"Hey, you’re not one of those that went out today, are you? Tell your great wolf that I have come," Fengyu didn’t mind and told the wolf directly.
"Woof?" The wolf was shocked to be able to understand the human. He looked at him for a moment before howling towards the hill, "Awoooooo!"
A few moments later, Fengyu saw movement from the side of the hill, several wolves, seemingly injured, came out.
They had leaves sticking to their fur and some juice falling down, but most of the blood was already cleaned away.
"Woof? Woof woof, woof!" the alpha wolf was shocked to find Fengyu actually come back.
"I promised I would come back, didn’t I?"
"Woof, woof woof!" – that’s right, but you humans never stick to your words!
"This..." Fengyu smiled wryly and didn’t know what to say.
He stopped for a moment before changing the topic, "Let me heal you first."
Then, without allowing them to say or woof anything, he hurriedly started casting.
The wolves knew that human casting was worse than their abilities, so they all remained quiet, not disrupting him with their woofing and whining.
"Wood Recovery Spell, Recover!" Fengyu cast his spell, directly aiming at the alpha wolf.
A green sphere shot out of his finger and entered the body of the wolf, forming a veil, which then condensed on the skin wound on his right side.
It healed rather quickly and was solved in just a short time!
Fengyu observed this deeply, the image he had seen before faintly appearing for a moment before disappearing again.
Without waiting, wishing to see it again, he rapidly cast the spell again, his thoughts intertwining.
Some time ago he had read on medical spells and knew that the image he was thinking of was way too complicated...
Usual doctors only thought of the wound closing, not questioning the deeper science behind it.
Fengyu’s detailed thoughts led to each wolf only needing one spell to fully recover...
One, two, three... soon, he healed all nine wolves that participated in the fight.
Just then, when he looked over, he saw another eight wolves!
’One wolf at the peak of mid stage, another at the late of the mid stage, and three at the peak of the early stage... but of those that attacked today, only the alpha wolf was strong, the rest were normal wolves at the early stage...’ Fengyu was surprised to see that this beast clan was a lot larger than he thought.
But what surprised him truly was that each of these wolves was a Spirit Beast!
"You wolves are really strong, and your bloodline is good, allowing you to reproduce with each descendant being a True Descendant that becomes a Spirit Beast..." Fengyu said enviously.
"Woof? Woof woof." The alpha wolf was surprised then agreed, pointing at the other wolf in the mid stage, whom he titled his mate.
"It seems the clan is so great because of fellow daoist!" Fengyu cupped his hands at the wolf’s mate.
"Woof, woof woof, woof." - thank you for your praise! I also want to thank you for healing my husband!
The female wolf was a lot more mannered and spoke better, though Fengyu could see that its ferocity was no less than that of the alpha wolf. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
"This deal benefitted both of us, there’s no need to thank me!"
"Woof woof, woof, woof?" the wolf’s mate suddenly asked another matter.
"You ask whether I can heal you again, in case a wolf of yours gets injured?" Fengyu was surprised to see such a request.
"Woof! Woof!" the wolf’s mate nodded humanlike and ordered another wolf to fetch something.
A moment later, it came again with a small stalk of grass in its mouth, putting it down in front of Fengyu.
"Woof woof, woof!"
"You offer this to me in exchange for every wolf I heal? Then..." Fengyu was surprised, thinking of accepting it just so he could see that image again.
Kneeling down, he inspected the grass stalk with surprise.
"Low-grade spiritual grass... it’s a basic ingredient for alchemy... one stalk of this size should be sold at around 10 to 15 spirit stones?"
