Chapter 1025: Chapter 1025: Don’t Get All Worked Up

Thomas Fisher spoke so earnestly, Alice Turner listened very attentively, but she couldn’t respond to his words at all.

She hasn’t divorced yet; she is still a married woman. Agreeing to be with him was already a reckless act, and she really couldn’t indulge in anything else.

The woman beside him suddenly became quiet, and Thomas Fisher realized that his previous words had frightened her. He turned to look at her and couldn’t help but ask, "Did I scare you?"

Judging by her expression, she was indeed startled by his words.

"You know I’m timid, yet you keep scaring me. You’re doing it on purpose, aren’t you?" Alice Turner deliberately tried to lighten the mood, but Thomas didn’t intend to go along with her.

After hearing her words, he replied to her seriously, "I mean it."

Ever since they met, he had been completely sincere with her. His pursuit of her was always with the intention of marrying her; he never considered a casual fling.

"You’re still scaring me, I’m not talking to you anymore." Alice Turner glanced at the thoroughly earnest Thomas Fisher, withdrew her gaze from him, settled herself in the passenger seat, turned towards the car window, and stopped interacting with him.

Seeing this, Thomas Fisher didn’t say anything more and focused on driving instead. He stopped scaring her, fearful that he might chase her away, which would leave him at a loss.

Neither of them spoke, making the car suddenly fall into a peaceful yet harmonious silence.

"Where are you taking me?" Alice Turner realized the car wasn’t heading towards her company. She shifted her gaze from outside and quickly turned to the man driving, perplexed.

Her sudden questioning startled Thomas Fisher a bit, but thankfully he was experienced enough in driving not to steer into the roadside bushes.

"Home," he responded simply and clearly with two words.

Upon hearing this, Alice Turner’s eyes widened in shock, "Thomas Fisher! You can’t joke like this. Stop the car now; I’m not playing anymore."

She could not allow this man to drive any further; she wanted to take control of the wheel herself and decide where to go.

Not only did she think this internally, but she also immediately acted on it; she reached out to tap his hand, signaling him to pull over.

If it weren’t for the concern of an accident, she would have directly grabbed the wheel.

"Don’t panic. I’m not taking you to my parents’. I’m taking you to my private residence," Thomas Fisher said. This time, he wasn’t joking with Alice Turner, nor did he hide anything from her. He explained the actual situation honestly.

Upon hearing these words, the scene in the hotel that day flashed through Alice Turner’s mind. She immediately shook her head in refusal, "I don’t want to go with you. I want to stay at a hotel."

He seemed harmless and easygoing, but in reality, he was both cunning and domineering. She didn’t want to go home with him; he made her feel endangered.

"You don’t need to worry about anything; no one else goes there," Thomas Fisher thought Alice Turner was rejecting his place out of fear of running into someone else, probably concerned about meeting his parents or his third brother.

Alice Turner still resolutely shook her head in refusal, "I’m still not going. I want to stay at a hotel."

He reminded her of a nearly forgotten worry; going to his place meant not only worrying about his potential schemes but also the possibility of surprise visits from others, raising questions about her identity in such scenarios.
