Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster-Chapter 300: The Two Generals
Chapter 300: The Two Generals
"Alright, strategy meeting," Todd announced, walking back to the rest of the group.
Natasha and Rael did the same.
"I’m sure you’ve seen these kinds of mechanics inside games, especially in Sketa Online, right?" Todd commented. "But for those who haven’t, they’re very simple to coordinate."
He cleared his throat and began explaining. "We just need to kill both of those monsters at the same time, so we need to chip away at both of their HP until they’re ready to be killed. We need everyone to be on the same page here, understand?"
Everyone nodded in unison.
"Great. It should be pretty easy then," Todd remarked, gripping his dual axes tighter.
But before he could get too overconfident, Rael decided to remind him of something.
"The Elite and Boss monsters’ strength has increased by 10 times. Just imagine those monsters we just faced, but dozens of times stronger with special abilities," Rael said flatly. "So this time around, we need to stick to a formation."
After all, in the first Trial, they went their separate ways, and only came back with minor injuries so Julian could heal them.
But now, if they did the same, they’d just be overwhelmed and killed one by one.
He looked at Natasha in particular.
"No competing this time."
"I’m not a child," Natasha replied with a pout. "I understand the consequences. I also saw that message you were talking about, and so did the rest of us. No one will treat it as a joke, I can promise you that much."
She pointed at the two people beside Julian.
"He’s the safest of all of you. The people beside him are former Secret Service agents. Their hand-to-hand combat skills are probably better than all of ours combined."
Rael tilted his head. "Then why don’t we switch the formation up a little?"
He stepped forward and gestured at the two people wielding daggers to come closer.
Then he motioned for Julian to move to the very back of the formation, beside Elizabeth, Jane, and the other two.
Rael glanced back at Todd. "You seem the sturdiest. Is it possible for you to act as our tank?"
"Hmm... I don’t see why not," Todd replied, waving his axes around. "So we’re going with the 1-2-2-5 formation setup?"
Rael nodded. "You’re in the front, Natasha and I are right behind you, and the experienced dagger fighters will be behind us."
As for the others, it was pretty self-explanatory.
"You will act as the arrowhead," Rael stated, looking at Todd. "When the fighting starts, your job is to separate the two Undead Generals, and that is when we will split our groups into two as well."
Rael gave them a general rundown of his idea.
Basically, once the two generals were separated, Rael, alongside one of the dagger fighters, would head toward one of the generals.
Natasha would do the same.
From the backlines, the ranged fighters would support them, and Todd’s role in all of this was to simply deal massive damage when the Undead Generals were caught off guard.
Their discussions were cut short as the timer finally hit 0.
And the moment it did, the ground shook.
It was much worse than when the hundreds of undead emerged, and once the shaking stopped, he saw two figures in the distance.
One was a glowing Blue Skeleton, the other was a glowing Red Skeleton.
The Blue Skeleton held a shield and was adorned in heavy plate armor, with only its glowing blue eyes being visible through the helmet.
As for the Red Skeleton, it didn’t wear any armor, yet it was holding a giant greatsword in its right hand.
The group immediately entered their predetermined positions, and combat began the next moment.
The Blue Skeleton dashed in, its shield at the ready.
Before it could slam into their defenses, Todd raised both his axes in the air, then slammed them down, causing an extremely loud screech to resound throughout the area.
It was so loud, in fact, that Rael’s ears began to bleed.
Yet that was enough of a distraction for Rael and the dagger fighter behind him to dash past the Blue Skeleton.
"What’s your name?" Rael asked hurriedly.
"Shina," the dagger fighter replied softly. "Don’t worry about any stray attacks, I can handle them."
Rael nodded, and just as he finally arrived in front of the Red Skeleton, a frostbolt came flying in.
But before it could make contact, the Red Skeleton raised its greatsword and deflected the frostbolt straight at Rael.
He didn’t panic as he ducked under the attack and pivoted on his heel, thrusting his claymore with full force toward the skeleton’s chest.
But he knew it wouldn’t be that simple.

His Gambler’s Luck passive activated, yet even then, he was only barely able to scratch the skeleton’s bones before it swung its greatsword down at him.
Shina dashed in and brushed her daggers along the greatsword’s edge, redirecting its attack to narrowly miss Rael.
The Red Skeleton sent out a kick, and she nonchalantly jumped over it as she began to run on the giant greatsword.
Rael’s eyes widened.
What the fuck? I’ve got a super ninja watching my back.
Safe to say, he was satisfied.
She arrived at the hilt of the greatsword, and just as the Red Skeleton extended its arm to grab her, she thrust her daggers at the arm which held the hilt.
Shina managed to shatter its bones, making it drop the greatsword to the ground.
And that was when they heard a battle cry from above them.
—TOOOOOODDDD!
Todd came flying in with his axes and slammed straight down onto the Red Skeleton, crushing most of the bones in its body.
But the glowing skull remained, if anything, he felt as if it had gotten much brighter.
Rael glanced back and noticed the Blue Skeleton was also having trouble as it was being swarmed by everyone from the backlines.
Yet as excitement began to set in for Rael, a sudden scorching pain shot throughout his body.
