Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster-Chapter 56: Being Escorted Into The Royal Palace
"Can you sign my eyebrow?"
"...What?" Rael snapped out of his thoughts, staring at her as though she was an idiot.
"I said, do you want a drink?" Linlin replied with a shrug, holding up a cup of wine before taking a sip.
The two were currently on a carriage heading toward the Varnak royal palace.
Each country had its own royal family, and even though Celestara was a city, it had one too.
However, that was only the case on this continent, Dralgur.
There were around thirty countries, as this continent was pretty large.
But in the end, it was just a beginner continent, and the other continents were much, much larger and many times more dangerous.
Nonetheless, he had to listen to the commander's and the soldiers' bullshit, flowery praise, and now, the only thing he wanted to do was sleep.
His HP was recovering steadily, and he only had internal wounds—so nothing that required a potion.
Rael dozed off for a bit, but he was quickly woken up by Linlin, who stared at him with a flushed face.
"Hic... Dyou want a drink~?" she asked, slurring her words.
"No way you're drunk off fucking wine, right?" Rael said with widened eyes as he yanked the bottle out of her hands.
To his surprise, it wasn't even wine.
It was champagne.
"Seriously..." Rael put the bottle of champagne inside his inventory. "You have the alcohol tolerance of a toddler."
"Nyo, I don't," Linlin staggered forward, gently landing on top of him.
"Alright, you're going in timeout," Rael announced, lifting her up before laying her down on the seat next to him, with her head resting on his thighs.
"I'm not shwleepy..." Linlin muttered, but despite that, she began slowly closing her eyes.
Soon, soft breaths filled the carriage, as she finally fell asleep.
What a lightweight, Rael thought as he glanced down at her.
She was a future powerhouse, and yet here she was, lying down so vulnerably.
Therefore, he would do something every single person would do in this situation.

"Pfft..." Rael purchased it and twirled it in his hands before uncapping it.
He hummed as he began drawing a pair of glasses, a moustache, and even a small beard.
Finally, he was done, and coincidentally, the carriage stopped.
Rael innocently placed the black marker inside his inventory and gently pinched her cheek.
"Five more scheconds..." Linlin slurred, but he didn't let go of her cheek and only pinched it harder.
"Ow ow! Fine, okay!" Linlin shot up from the seat, nearly tumbling over.
Rael tried his best not to laugh at her appearance, as the pirate eyepatch fit her better than he thought.
"Sober up, we've arrived," he stated, making her expression immediately turn serious.
In the next moment, she used her mana to expel the alcohol out of her pores.
Its smell was even worse than before, but thankfully they had windows in the carriage.
Nonetheless, her playfulness from earlier was gone.
"Sorry, I didn't expect them to give me such strong alcohol—forget you saw that," Linlin said as she neatly fixed her clothes and opened the carriage.
He stepped out and was met with the commander from before, who merely bowed and began showing them the way.
However, despite his serious persona, even the commander couldn't help but smile upon looking at Linlin.
I know Zafira told us to not do anything stupid, but it's fine... If I bring over the Faceless One and Evelyn Ardent to our side, then we're as good as set, Rael thought.
The walk took a while, and only now were they entering the royal palace's inner grounds.
This palace, unlike Celestara, had a more modern feel, with all sorts of contraptions and equipment doing the work for the people.
Rael's gaze wandered until it landed on a particularly short pair of buff people.
They've got dwarves—no wonder their production is so great, Rael noted inside his mind.
In addition to his previous goals, he now wanted to recruit a dwarven engineer.
"This way, your majesty," the commander pointed to the golden staircase before flashing a look at Linlin. "I'm afraid past this point, only His Majesty, Rael Sutekh, is allowed to enter."
"I'm his guard, why can't I go with him?" Linlin asked with furrowed brows. "Are you trying to pull someth—"
"Linlin." Rael cut her off, putting a finger up to his lips. "Don't throw around accusations—they're a double-edged sword in our current situation."
"Do not fear, we are not allowed to go up this staircase either," the commander clarified. "Past this point, only royals may walk. We're just here to serve them."
What a fanatical view of royalty, Rael thought with furrowed brows before whistling at Linlin to get her attention.
"Don't worry about me, I can handle myself," he assured, and took the first step on this massive golden staircase.

"I'll be there in an instant if anything goes wrong," Linlin said with determination, making Rael stop.
He turned around and pointed at his own cheek. "You've got a smudge on there. You should probably wash it off."
She seemed confused, but Rael ignored it as he began making his way up.
From here, he could see the entire palace grounds of Varnak's royal family.
They seemed to like jewelry a lot, as most buildings were decorated in gold, and even the soldiers' armor had their badges made of gold.
The women wore oddly revealing clothing, which he didn't mind as a man, but still...
How can the guards just stand there all day when half-naked women are walking around?
He put those thoughts aside for now. After a few minutes of walking, he arrived at the very top, slightly exhausted from the climb.
Nonetheless, the sight was definitely worth the climb, as a completely traditional jade palace came into view, with its doors already swung open.
Between them, he could see an elderly man sitting on a throne, playing around with a few kids.
All of them had one thing in common...
Black hair and white eyes, which almost made them look like demons.
But Rael didn't mind their appearance as he approached through the open doors and arrived in front of the man.
They hadn't even spoken yet, but the tension was at an all-time high.
However, it was soon broken by the man's chuckle.
"Greetings, Rael Sutekh, King of Celestara, the Savior of Varnak..." the old man trailed off as he sent the children away and stood up, pacing toward him with slow steps.
"I wonder...?" he continued, a smile appearing on his face.
"Would you be interested in marrying one of my daughters?"
...Bruh.
