"Who… are you?" She looked at me and I smiled at her before I continued speaking,
"Now, with that out of the way, let's get you to the witches."
I didn't explain anything to her. Partly because I was going to restart anyway, so it wouldn't serve much purpose. And partly because I was going to reveal my identity to her as soon as we reached the witches. That would explain half the things, anyway.
And then I held her by her hand and began walking out of the prison.
In all honesty, it wasn't that hard for me to remove her curse. But there was more to it than just simply removing it.
Demon Syndrome is a kind of disease when mana comes in direct contact with a strong concentrated demonic energy.
Think of it like taking a drug into your body that has a 100 percent bioavailability as well as a complete retention rate.
Meaning that your body will make that drug a part of your own body, causing permanent manifestations in your body.
Demonic Syndrome can directly transform a person into a demon, which was a way for the players to get the [Demon] race. Though, to witches, because of their pure mana, the effect was limited.
It didn't transform them into demons, but canceled out their mana nature pretty much completely. Because Demonic mana by nature strengthens the body composition to some degree, enhancing the physical abilities of the user.
'Despite the general rule, there are sometimes rare cases where the witch transforms into a demon, or gains complete immunity to it. Players called them, 'Demon Witches' and 'Sage Witches' respectively.' I thought about the different paths of evolution that I had seen in my gaming time.
"And then there was that person." I shivered just by remembering her name.
"…"
Raven kept her eyes on me, seemingly lost in thought, while trying to figure out something. We were already out of the prison areas, and even though I had to kill a couple of guards, it was fine, since there was no reason to get out the hard way.
"I was recalling Zendaya," I said, making her look at me with amazement.
"You know her?" She asked as she looked at me and I nodded.
"Met her once. Though I doubt she would remember me."
One of the strongest known characters of [Call of the Black Magicians], is Zendaya, the Witch of Duality.
She was a freak of nature who attained a rather strange evolution after gaining demonic energy. She became capable of using both demonic energy and pure mana without any problems.
In fact, both the energies, which should have canceled each other, actually ended up amplifying each other. And just within a decade, she became famous in both the demon realm as well as the human realm.
The Strongest Demon Witch ever to exist.
Her strength was said to be comparable to the great witch, but they never fought against each other, so nobody knows for real which of them is stronger.
"Is that how you…" Raven wanted to speak something, but a bunch of men appeared in front of us as we were exiting the underground black market.
"Apologies, sir. But it seems that you haven't paid for that one," the fat man in front spoke as he looked at me with a rather sleazy smile.
[Dark Threads!]
Creating thousands of threads of mana that were stronger than steel but thinner than silk, I cut them apart in pieces as I kept walking without wasting any moment.
Their bodies fell like mashed meat on the floor, while I turned at Raven with a carefree smile as I asked,
"You were saying something?"
"No… Nothing…" she spoke hurriedly, as if her life was dependent on it. Though she kept her eyes on me as she walked behind me.
For better or worse, she didn't ask any more questions. Must have been dazed by my handsomeness… Just kidding.
Anyways, as we walked out of the city, the whole city was erupting in chaos as the dark mana was being engulfed around it.
The winds blew faster and faster as if a storm was approaching. And the sky, which should have been in its brightest phase, was engulfed with dark clouds.
"Don't think much about it. Just follow me," I spoke as I turned at Raven, who seemed to be in slight agitation looking at the surrounding atmosphere.
-BOOM!!!
-BOOOM!!!
-SLASH!!
-BOOM!!!
And then the sound of ground erupting became more clear than before as the fight that was occurring in the forest reached closer to the city.
In the air that was already suffocating, the gales drizzled like an epiphany. The small breaths that blessed the flowers were now erasing the life of everything around them.
Poetic, isn't it?
"A High Elf that is supposed to protect the forest, and its life, was the reason for this destruction," I smiled as I looked at her madly fighting against the Crazy Manipulator, using all her abilities.
"Shouldn't we run, too?" Raven asked as she looked at the fight with hesitation.
"Don't worry. Minor inconveniences like these won't be a problem. Let's go," I spoke as I walked towards the forest, while still holding Raven's hands so that she wouldn't run off.
The fight kept growing by the second, as more dark mages kept following through. The fact that Nvida and elves weren't there must mean that they were dead now.
'That would explain the reason for Trisha going berserk,' I thought as I understood what would have followed in case I left them alone without my arrays.
The fight kept growing as we walked through the forest.
[Freestyle!]
And then, after creating an optimal situation in which I could walk through the fight without getting injured, I practiced a couple of times.
Because I was 'Adam' and could use all my powers freely, it was pretty easy and took little attempts.
And then as I got out of the [Personal Space], I began walking towards the area where the actual fight was happening.
Raven was now really scared as she held me by my arm, her body touching mine, while we walked through the storm of arrays and winds.
Trisha was too furious to notice me as she kept going after the Crazy Manipulator and the rest of the dark mages. Though the dark mages noticed me. Especially Crazy Manipulator.
Though I ignored him, as I walked through the storm, avoiding half the attacks while parrying the others using dark chains that I created in advance.
As I walked, I gave him a look, before ignoring him and then continuing with my walk.
For whatever reason, the attacks that I predicted to come from the Crazy Manipulator and the dark mages never came. So, the walk was much easier than I had prepared for.
And just like that, I walked through the forest, leaving the people in their fight.
Moving towards the area where the witches were, I then found that the number of witches was more than before.
Rosalyn, who was standing in front, seemed to be talking to someone. An old woman with white hair and wrinkles covered all over her face. She seemed to be at least 70 or 80.
Their voices slowed before dying, as they all looked at me and Raven walking towards them. Rosalyn, who recognized Raven in an instant, ran towards us and then shouted,
"Raven?!!!"
Raven, hearing her, hesitated for a moment before looking at me for permission. I nodded at her with a smile as she walked towards Rosalyn, who hugged her in an instant.
Undoing my disguise, I then looked back at the forest that was covered with complete darkness.
'Not just the forest, but the city too, huh?' I thought as I looked at the dark mana slowly enveloping the entire area in a black dome.
"What is… that?" the white-haired old witch looked at the dome with her eyes shaken in fear.
Monsters began pouring out in hordes out of that black dome, each of them much stronger than the other one as we all stood there watching them entering the forest and obliterating everything in their path.
"A Dimensional Gate," I answered, as I yawned a little before stretching a little. Then, turning back at Rosalyn, I asked calmly,
"Hey. Where are the two girls?"
