Reawakening with Limitless Mana-Chapter 46: Celebration
Chapter 46: Celebration
The sky was starting to darken, casting a gentle shadow over the world outside.
Inside the room, the three men of the Stronghart family were getting dressed for the celebration.
They had chosen formal suits—Arthur in a white-dominant outfit paired with a black shirt, Kevin in a soft beige coat and trousers with a crisp white shirt, and the head of the family in a classic black coat, white shirt, and a neatly tied tie.
Before the journey, they had done some shopping together, using both the treasure Arthur carried and the savings Aston had quietly built up over time. Because of that, they now stood in front of the mirror wearing new, finely made clothes—prepared for what would be the most important event they’d ever attended.
Kevin glanced at his reflection, adjusting the bowtie again. "Dad, does this really suit me?" he asked, uncertain, his voice low.
Aston gave him a reassuring look. "You look more than fine, son. Hold your head high." His words were firm, like a captain encouraging a soldier before battle, but laced with warmth only a father could give.
Just then, the lady of the Stronghart family stepped into the room, and all three turned toward her at once.
She wore a deep blue dress that shimmered like the night sky, wrapping gently around her form before cascading down like flowing water. With each step, the jewels at her neck caught the light, sparkling like stars. Her smile was soft, almost dreamlike, as if time itself had slowed for her entrance—and for a moment, it truly felt like it had.
Her hair fell freely over one shoulder, soft and flowing, giving her the quiet charm of a graceful, mature beauty. A gentle touch of makeup brought out her features even more, enhancing the warmth in her smile.
"How do I look?" she asked, her tone light but expectant.
Arthur, with a smug suddenly held up a "ten out of ten" board from who-knows-where. Kevin, wide-eyed and sincere, simply said, "Stunning."
Their father, however, stepped forward without a word. He took her hand, pulled her just a little closer, and whispered with a smirk, "Let’s give Art and Kevin a little sister already."
Virelle’s cheeks flushed as she swatted his hand away. "Stop that," she said, though her smile betrayed her amusement. "Come on, we’re going to be late."
Aston gave a quiet sigh as he looked at her, half in love, half impatient. He couldn’t wait to get this celebration over with.
"Ah, Art. Come here for a second."
Arthur walked toward his mother, curious but unsure, watching as she sat down on the dressing stool. With gentle fingers, she reached for his chest pocket and pinned something on.
It was a small brooch, shaped like a curled leaf cast in blackened silver. The surface was matte and textured with fine ridges, catching the light in subtle ways. It didn’t shine loudly—it whispered elegance, a quiet touch of grace that added just enough to be noticed without asking for attention.
"I made this when I saw your suit," she said softly, pulling her hands away and meeting his eyes. "What do you think?"
Without even glancing down, Arthur replied, "Perfect. Thank you."
Virelle let out a small, helpless smile, full of the kind of love only a mother carries, then stood and clapped her hands gently.
"Alright, everyone. Shall we go?"
....
They took the carriage and were headed toward the palace.
The inn receptionist arranged a driver so that Aston could also travel inside the carriage with his family.
Many vehicles were heading towards the grand palace, which showed how well the King had a relationship with domestic and foreign ministers.
"Here, Kevin. It’s your duty to keep it safe and give it to the birthday boy." Virelle handed him a small paper bag which has a blue ribbon wrapped around it.
Kevin, with a determined look, accepted the gift and assured her, "I will keep it safe."
Seeing those determined eyes, Virelle smiled in amusement.
The palace soon came into view, glowing like a treasure under the moonlight. Just as the rumors said, it was made of pure gold. Its golden walls shimmered brightly, so bright that even from far away, it looked like a star had fallen to the earth.
As the carriage moved closer, Arthur noticed rows of soldiers standing straight along the path. Their armor gleamed, and their spears stood tall, like trees made of steel.
A wide stone bridge stretched over a clear blue river, linking the palace to the rest of the town. The water below sparkled gently, reflecting the gold above like a mirror.
At the palace’s grand entrance, red and blue flowers bloomed in full glory. Their sweet scent drifted through the air, and the colors danced in the moonlight, making the place feel even more like a dream.
As they drew closer to the entrance, their carriage was stopped by the guard.
"Here," Aston handed the invitation to the bald soldier whose uniform highlighted his high ranking in the battalion.
He checked the invitation before giving a doubtful look at the Baron.
However, he didn’t question them before handing back the invitation and granting them permission to proceed.
"Haah~I thought the cliché troupe was about to repeat," Kevin muttered under his breath. He really thought that the guard was going to suspect them of having a fake invitation or something.
His attention shifted as the carriage rolled forward and a breathtaking garden unfolded before him.
It was vast, like a small town hidden within the palace walls. Neatly arranged flower beds burst with color, small trees lined the paths, and cozy benches rested under their shade. On either side, clear ponds shimmered with gentle ripples, tiny fish darting beneath the surface like living jewels.
The stone pavement beneath the carriage wheels was smooth and gleaming, almost as if it had been freshly polished just for their arrival.
As they continued, the carriage gently curved around a grand fountain that stood in the center of the path. Water leapt into the air, catching the light and turning into a spray of tiny rainbows.
"Wah... the sculptures are so well crafted," Virelle whispered in awe, her eyes wide with wonder as she took it all in like an excited child.
Even for her—the daughter of a Viscount—it was her first time witnessing such splendor.
The carriage finally came to a pause before the members of the Stronghart family slowly stepped out of the carriage
"Thank you," Virelle thanked her husband as she got down with his help.
The carriage driver took away the carriage soon after, and the four of them turned towards the palace entrance.
There were many nobles, wearing far more expensive dresses and jewellery, who could be seen walking around and chatting quietly.
"So...shall we go?" Aston asked in a slightly nervous tone.
Virelle nodded, and just as they started stepping on the stairs, Arthur paused as he sensed someone approaching him.
"Art-ah!" Aston turned to look at his son, only to be surprised upon finding a girl standing inches away from him.
Arthur was stunned as well, but his face remained unchanged as he faced the redhead.
That curly fiery red hair...those emotionless but burning eyes....there was no doubt in it,
"Grace..."
