Rebirth: Building the Strongest Party with my Overpowered Harem.-Chapter 11: Maybe a Hunter?
Chapter 11: Maybe a Hunter?
A man stood at the entrance of the office.
His blue shining hair was one of his features, accompanied by a small scar on his face.
Dressed in a red shirt and black trousers, he had a sword hung behind his back.
He was Ryker Lancer, an S-rank swordsman from the Red Spear party, one of the biggest parties in Vergino.
As he stepped into the office, he took a quick glance around.
The fallen chairs, the dark streak on Stella's hand, and finally Adonis and Filo.
"What happened here?" he finally asked.
Stella immediately took control.
"Uhm, he's here for help with his—"
"Stella, I wasn't talking to you. The question was to the boy," Ryker said without moving his attention from Adonis.
'Why now of all times? If Ryker finds out about Adonis's powers, he is sure to announce it to the head guild,' Stella thought to herself.
However, Adonis didn't seem to be the least bit worried about the man.
'Ryker Lancer, I remember reading about him in the novel. He later dies during a dungeon breakout, causing a huge hit to his party. No doubt he is strong, and also a problem.'
Adonis smiled. "About the commotion? I kinda went overboard, and Stella went a little hard on me," he replied.
Ryker glared. "I sensed a strange energy from this room. Who does it belong to?"
"Oh, I can't really tell, but that should be me, I guess."
Ryker moved closer. "Is that so..."
"Why is that? Is there a problem?" Adonis was still calm.
The same could not be said about the girls, though.
Stella was almost breaking down at the back, while Filo was more than ready to fight.
Being an S-rank, she knew she could take him on if he tried to do anything.
And Ryker knew this too. The closer he moved to Adonis, the more intense the aura leaking from Filo got.
"I just thought to confirm if everything is okay here. Seems I was right. I'll be going now."
With that, Ryker walked out of the room and closed the door behind him.
'Okay, that was weird,' Adonis said to himself.
"Ahhhh! That was so close! I thought he was going to take you away for sure." Stella collapsed into her chair with relief.
"Miss Stella, I have a question..." Filo chimed in.
This caused both Adonis and Stella to widen their ears.
"That man just now, he's from the Red Spear, right?" she asked.
"Uhm, yes. They are an A-rank party. Why? Is something the matter?"
"I wanted to be sure. Just in case." Filo kept quiet instantly.
"Oh—okayyy."
Stella now looked at Adonis, her eyebrows forming into a frown. "And you, you better not forget about what we spoke about. I don't think the guild will hurt you, but I can tell you that they will strip away everything you ever wanted, especially now that you're not even in a good party."
"Oh right, speaking of parties, a member of Mina also reawakened. Is it fine if we do a reevaluation of her adventurer's ID?"
"Another one?" Stella couldn't help but feel surprised and utterly confused.
What were the odds of having two people in the same guild reawaken?
"Does she also have two classes?" asked Stella.
"I don't know. I was hoping to figure that out," replied Adonis.
"Well, if I'm going to do any type of reevaluation, it's not until next month. The artifact needed is currently not available, so you are going to have to wait a bit."
"Is that so?" Adonis felt a bit down.
He had planned to get Stella her S-rank ID; that way, he could at least use her rank to get better quests for him to rank up with.
If a party is at D-rank and happens to have a member who is S-rank, there is a high probability that the guild would first try to get them to join a better guild. If the person refuses, they get the privilege to take on a larger quest, far greater than the one meant for the party's rank.
'I guess we are stuck with E-rank quests for now.'
"I know I shouldn't be doing this. As your guild advisor, I only want the best for you," Stella stood up, gently resting her butt on the edge of the table. "But I have something that you might need."
"I'm listening," Adonis responded.
"You know the difference between an adventurer and a hunter, right?" she asked.
"Hunters are far more powerful and have more privileges than adventurers due to their authority or divine blessings," Filo answered.
"Correct." Stella snapped her fingers. "And because of this, rather than venturing into dungeons, they help keep the world safe by taking on gates showing up around the world."
Adonis listened well.
From the novel, he had already read about it, hence why he knew what a gate was.
While dungeons were small spaces for monsters to spawn, a place built to get rid of monsters before they could do any damage to the world...
Gates were a bit different. They were simply connections to other worlds or realities.
Creatures from other worlds trying to clash with ours first appear as gates in random places in the world.
Hunters are then dispatched to kill off these intruders before the gate can fully manifest.
Adonis placed his hands on his hips. "What does this have to do with anything?"
"Well, at first, I was in shock when I saw your double-class situation, so I didn't really think it through, but what if you have an authority or divine blessing? Meaning, what if you're a hunter?" Stella uttered.
Adonis's eyes widened in shock. That had never occurred to him.

"If you are indeed a hunter, then all of this would make sense. The guild can't touch you, as you'd be under the Hunters Association instead."
"How am I supposed to be sure that I am a hunter?"
"I don't know much about the Hunters Association. I was trained to handle adventurers. But worry not, I have something that should appeal to you very well." Stella smiled.
