After Qi Hao fell asleep again, Chi Shuyan didn’t dare let her guard down at all. She stared at him for a while. After confirming that he was fine, she sat on the side and meditated.

Qi Hao’s mind was a bit blank and he was dazed. In his dream, he was standing in front of a familiar mirror, and the door closed with a bang.

He jerked back to his senses and looked around; it seemed like he had returned to the bathroom.

It was strangely quiet.

He saw what looked like tens of thousands of compound eyes staring greedily at him again. He clearly saw the face of the person in the mirror change from calm to alarm to incomparable panic and fear.

He wanted to escape and call for his sister-in-law, but his legs felt like they were filled with lead as he just stood there.

Qi Hao was utterly panicked.

He heard buzzing and rustling again. The sound got closer and louder. Qi Hao couldn’t help but stagger away from the mirror at the sink.

Soon, the rustling turned into a human voice.

The voice was very strange: On the surface, it sounded like a child who had just learned how to speak. The voice was unfamiliar and a bit muffled, but when one listened carefully, it didn’t sound human at all.

“Qi… Hao! Qi… Hao! Look… in the mirror!”

Qi Hao was so scared by this voice that his legs shook non-stop. His instincts told him that he couldn’t listen to this voice.

He couldn’t look in the mirror. No, he absolutely couldn’t!

Qi Hao gripped his fingers tightly as the person called his name louder and louder. Listening carefully, the voice went from patient to exasperated as the person tried to force or coax Qi Hao to look in the mirror.

When he woke up, Qi Hao saw that there was no monster or bugs around; there was only his sister-in-law, who was looking at him in concern.

It seemed he had been dreaming, but for a moment, what just happened felt too terrifying and too real for Qi Hao to think that it was just a dream.

He had really seen Director Huang turn into a monster with his own eyes. Director Huang’s skin and flesh were covered in bugs, and he even said that Qi Hao was next. It was too scary!

Qi Hao’s forehead was covered in cold sweat and his clothes were wet, as if he had just been fished out of water. His face was also green with fright, like the color of a dead person.
