Chapter 610: Chapter 608: Accidental Discharge

Chuchu was stunned when she saw a gun pointed at her. At first, she couldn’t comprehend why a gun was involved. Wasn’t it just a little push? Did it really call for pulling out a gun to intimidate someone?

She thought it must be fake, right?

When she heard Ming Wan’s scream, she finally snapped back to reality: The gun was real! This woman meant business!

What audacity!

Chuchu’s nerves immediately tensed as she sharply observed the hands holding the gun. Then she noticed a detail—the safety was still on.

A thought crossed her mind, and with lightning speed, while the leather jacket woman was feeling smug, Chuchu focused on her wrist, skillfully pushing and pulling, and the gun changed owners.

The smug look hadn’t left the leather jacket woman’s face before she realized the gun was gone, and now it was pointed at her.

"Give me the gun back!" the leather jacket woman snarled. She had thought these two Eastern women would be easy to scare, that they would beg her in terror. She hadn’t expected to have her gun taken away, which made her quite upset.

Chuchu snorted, "Next time you want to scare someone, remember to take off the safety!" With that, Chuchu removed the safety and fired a shot past the leather jacket woman.

"Bang!" The gunshot hit the wall, leaving a hole.

The loud gunshot turned the leather jacket woman pale. She instinctively screamed and glared at Chuchu, shouting something in Y language, which Chuchu guessed must be a curse.

Soon, footsteps rushed down the corridor, and three men in servant uniforms appeared at the door, each holding a handgun, aimed at the room—more precisely, at Chuchu holding the gun.

No way! Chuchu swallowed hard.

Of course, it’s the mafia’s base. Even a random servant carries a gun to work!

Seeing help arrive, the leather jacket woman quickly regained her arrogance and babbled a few words to the three men.

Ming Wan worriedly grabbed Chuchu’s clothing and said, "She’s telling them to shoot you."

Chuchu realized this was serious. If they really opened fire, both she and Ming Wan wouldn’t stand a chance. She immediately raised the gun and shouted:

"I want to see your Housekeeper Jacob and Andrew!"

Just as she finished speaking, Housekeeper Jacob appeared, his face dark, from behind the three men.

"What happened? Miss Ming Wan, Miss Lillian." He looked at Ming Wan and the leather jacket woman and asked in English, completely ignoring the armed Chuchu. It seemed he didn’t take Chuchu seriously at all.

So the leather jacket woman’s name is Lillian. What a waste of a name.

Lillian immediately shouted, "This woman dared to shoot at me—order them to shoot her, or I’ll have Andrew fire you!"

She used the word "fire" in English, which Chuchu automatically understood as "dismiss" rather than "kill Jacob," because Jacob clearly looked crafty and Andrew wouldn’t likely kill his efficient housekeeper over Lillian. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

Sure enough, upon hearing Lillian’s words, Jacob’s frown deepened, and he calmly said, "Miss Lillian, they are the young master’s guests, and he instructed me to treat them well." After saying this, he waved off the three servants, asking them to leave.

Seeing them leave, Lillian furiously yelled at Jacob, and Chuchu didn’t even need Ming Wan to tell her she must be questioning and threatening Jacob.

This woman, aside from looking decent, has a brain like a pig’s. It’s a wonder why Andrew wants to marry her—Chuchu thinks there’s a good chance it’s a marriage of convenience, and her family must have significant influence in the mafia.

Seizing the moment while the two argued, Chuchu quietly lowered her hand, tucking the gun back into her waist.

As she did this, Jacob’s peripheral vision caught her action, but he didn’t stop her, patiently continuing to explain to Lillian.

Seeing she couldn’t manipulate Jacob, Lillian angrily turned to Chuchu and Ming Wan, menacingly saying:

"This is my turf. I could easily have you killed with just one word, so you’d better pray God is on your side. I’ve marked you—just don’t fall into my hands!"

Chuchu was furious. She couldn’t let them be intimidated like this, so she directly pulled the gun from her waist, aiming it at Lillian: "I advise you to shut up quickly, or my gun will speak."

Lillian reluctantly stopped her threats: "That’s my gun, give it back!"

Chuchu rolled her eyes and scoffed, "Now this gun is mine; I’d have to be a fool to give it back to you."

Jacob wisely chimed in: "Miss Lillian, you’re getting married to the young master tomorrow. Shouldn’t there be many things you need to attend to personally? Why not leave this matter to me; otherwise, the young master will be unhappy if he hears about it."

"Don’t let Andrew know!" Lillian ordered Jacob, "Did you hear me, you fool!"

Jacob suppressed his anger and nodded in agreement, "Okay." Finally, he managed to coax Lillian away.

After Lillian left, Chuchu placed the safety back on the gun in front of Jacob, carefully examined it, and cautiously tucked it away in her waist again.

Before Jacob could say anything, Ming Wan promptly said, "Mr. Jacob, we want to leave here!"

She still remembered the insults from Lillian earlier; she couldn’t stay here any longer. Perhaps she needed to wake up, realizing Andrew was no longer the Andrew she knew, and she shouldn’t get too close to him.

Jacob was surprised, then seemed to understand; the dark expression from being angered by Lillian softened. He said, "Miss Ming Wan, I assure you Miss Lillian will not bother you again. You are someone the young master brought back, and I can’t let you leave just like that—he would be unhappy. Why don’t you wait to discuss any requests with him when he returns? I’m just a housekeeper; please don’t make things difficult for me."

Don’t make things difficult for him? Ha... Chuchu didn’t believe Jacob didn’t know about Lillian coming to bother Ming Wan. They were talking in the dining room earlier, and it wouldn’t be surprising if Jacob told Lillian which room Ming Wan was staying in.

Chuchu sneered, "If we stay any longer, we might lose our lives. This place is really unsafe—anyone who wants to find us can, and they always succeed. It’s too dangerous here."

Hearing Chuchu’s sarcasm, Jacob’s cheek muscles slightly twitched, but he pretended not to hear, looking sincerely at Ming Wan.
