Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space-Chapter 854: Nothing Special
Jiang Xinyu didn’t like the peacock-like man. Seeing that Jing Chu didn’t pay attention to him at all, she felt relieved. However, she was a bit dissatisfied with Zhao Xiaoli’s reaction. You’re married and pregnant. Why blush when you see other men?
It’s understandable to like good-looking people, but you shouldn’t have other thoughts.
"Let’s go, let’s visit the supply and marketing cooperative. It’s a rare visit. Do you need anything?"
"Aunt Jiang, I don’t need anything. You always ask Uncle Wei to send us stuff. I have everything I need."
"Let’s go and have a look anyway, then we’ll go eat."
Zhao Xiaoli wasn’t lacking anything either. Old Yang provided everything she needed adequately. Thinking about this, she stopped blushing. She had a husband and a child. How could she blush at another man?
Seeing Zhao Xiaoli’s reaction, Jiang Xinyu felt at ease. She had intentionally asked them if they needed anything to remind Zhao Xiaoli of Old Yang.
The three of them entered the supply and marketing cooperative together. Jiang Xinyu bought twenty notebooks, intending to reward the children who performed well in the upcoming exam.
They were lucky to find two baskets of eggs available.
Jiang Xinyu asked, and each person could buy a maximum of two catties. The three of them each bought two catties, enduring the side-eye from the salesperson.
Jiang Xinyu thought, since you’re giving me a side-eye, I’ll buy more.
Then she bought salt, sugar, and five catties of soybean oil. Jing Chu and Zhao Xiaoli bought the same.
Lastly, they bought two rolls of toilet paper, marking a successful end to their visit to the supply and marketing cooperative.
As they needed to consider the pregnant woman, Jiang Xinyu carried two buckets of soybean oil and the salt she bought, as they were the heaviest.
Jing Chu carried the rest. At Zhao Xiaoli’s strong insistence, she carried the two rolls of toilet paper.
"Let’s go back and put these in the car."
Wu Yuchen approached them again, "Do you three need any help?"
Zhao Xiaoli lowered her head shyly, not speaking. Jing Chu didn’t even glance at him. Jiang Xinyu smiled, "Thank you, comrade, we don’t need help."
"I can manage."
Jiang Xinyu ignored Wu Yuchen and walked ahead, with Jing Chu following closely. Zhao Xiaoli followed them with her head down.
Wu Yuchen watched their backs, finding it amusing, especially how Lv Jingchu completely ignored him.
They rested once on the way and took twenty minutes to get home.
After putting everything in the car, they decided, "Let’s pick up the photos and then go to eat."
The other two naturally had no objections, especially Jing Chu, who was eager to see her child’s hundredth-day photo.
Jiang Xinyu arrived at the photography studio and handed over the receipt to the staff.
She received a thick paper package and directly handed it to Jing Chu. "Would you like to take any photos?
Xiao Li, you should take some photos, but you can wait a few more months, then you’ll have pictures from when you were pregnant."
Zhao Xiaoli’s eyes lit up, "That’s right, I could take some by the end of the year."
Jing Chu looked through the photos, "Aunt Jiang, Shi Xian looks so much like Uncle Wei."
"Yes, he really does."
"Aunt Jiang, have you noticed that Tingting’s eyebrows and nose look like yours?"
"Really? I didn’t notice. Let me see."
Jiang Xinyu looked at a photo where she was holding Tingting. It did seem similar.
The saying "he who raises, resembles," really made sense.
"Jing Chu, do you want to take pictures?"
Lv Jingchu shook her head, "No, next time I’ll come with my brother and take photos to send to Dad."
Since no one was taking photos, the three of them went to a restaurant.
They ordered regular dishes since they’re usually well-off.
They encountered Wu Yuchen again, the third time already. What should they say?
Now Zhao Xiaoli wasn’t even blushing. The three of them focused on eating, as Wu Yuchen brought over a bowl of braised pork to their table.
"I got an allowance today, please have some braised pork."
None of the three looked up. Zhao Xiaoli was too embarrassed, and even if it wasn’t an attractive man, she would still feel shy with outsiders around.
Lv Jingchu simply didn’t like men who attracted attention. Although he was handsome, her family members were attractive too, so she didn’t care about looks.
Jiang Xinyu didn’t like men behaving this way and started to feel annoyed.
For the first time, Wu Yuchen experienced being completely ignored.
Each of the three had a bowl of noodles with an egg inside, which was satisfying.
After eating, the three stood up to leave. They didn’t acknowledge Wu Yuchen at all.
It was really awkward, wasn’t it? How did it turn out this way? Wasn’t being good-looking supposed to be advantageous?
The three walked along the street, "Jing Chu, what did you think of that guy just now?"
"Not much, he’s annoying. Doesn’t he know how to read the room?
Does he think he’s good-looking? His face is too thick-skinned," commented Lv Jingchu lightly.
Jiang Xinyu chuckled at Jing Chu’s words. This girl hadn’t even started to appreciate beauty yet. It was a good thing, making her less likely to be deceived. She should talk to Feifei about it.
Zhao Xiaoli looked at Jing Chu curiously, "Jing Chu, didn’t you find that man good-looking?"
"He was good-looking, but my family isn’t unattractive either, so I just find him average," replied Lv Jingchu calmly.
"Haha, exactly. Jing Chu is right, your family has great looks. He’s a bit better-looking than you all but not by much."
If Wu Yuchen heard this, he probably would choke out of frustration.
The three got into the car, "Alright, let’s go home. This was quite a satisfying outing," said Jiang Xinyu with a smile.
"Aunt Jiang, can I choose some photos? I like Shi Xian."
"Pick what you want and I’ll send them to be printed, but I can’t give you these from this batch."
"Sure, I’ll pick a few more."
Jing Chu chose ten photos, and Jiang Xinyu drove to the photo studio to drop them off for printing and scheduled to pick them up in a week.
With that, the three directly headed home.
Wu Yuchen watched them drive away, touching his chin. Except for the time he deliberately followed them to the educated youth bureau, their encounters had all been coincidental. What kind of fate was this?
And that woman driving? She must have an unusual background to be so young and able to drive a car.
It’s interesting; who would have thought such a little place has people like them?
Jiang Xinyu drove them both home without stopping and then went home herself, just in time to catch the last study period.
Today, the two teachers were preparing exam questions. They figured the exam would be in two days. After splitting into classes, she’d have much more free time.
Back home, the two little ones were sleeping. Jiang Xinyu found a single photo of Du Fengying to give her.
