Rebirth: Inheriting Millions In The Eighties-Chapter 27 - Being Laughed At_1
Chapter 27: Chapter 27 Being Laughed At_1
Chapter 27 -27 Being Laughed At_1
It was just beginning to dawn, with a few stars still hanging at the edge of the sky, when Xia Ningxing and her five older brothers, covered in morning dew, rode their tricycle out of the house.
Since the man-powered tricycle had limited carrying capacity, only Ningxing and her fifth brother were sitting on it, with the eldest brother riding it.
The third and fourth brothers had no choice but to follow on foot.
Originally, Ningxing didn’t want everyone to go, as it would be too tiring to walk when there wasn’t enough room on the vehicle, but her brothers insisted on coming along regardless.
They had just reached the entrance of the village when they overheard some idle villagers gossiping.
Particularly Pangya’s mother, who now raised her thick, disorderly brows, crossed her arms and snorted through her nostrils, “Hey, I heard you’re going into business? Selling some dog-fart perfume that you can’t eat or drink, who would buy that!”
There’s no wall in the world that can totally block the wind. When the glass factory delivered the perfume bottles, some nosy villagers had asked around, and thus everyone in the village knew that the Xia family was starting a business.
Because of this, there had been a lot of gossip, and people thought Xia Jianren’s family had gone mad.
“They had a good life and they’re not satisfied, starting a business like that, not afraid of going broke.”
“Exactly!”
“What’s there to fear about losses? Didn’t their capable daughter earn fifteen hundred bucks not long ago? Even if they do lose money, they can just have the daughter earn it back!” Pangya’s mother’s tone was sharp and mean, her eyes red with jealousy, yet she couldn’t help but express her sour grapes, “Letting a child go out and make money by acting in films, it’s sinful, isn’t it!”
“Ha! As if your ugly daughter could find a director willing to cast her in a film!”
Upon hearing this, the five brothers glared back in anger.
It was one thing to curse their business early in the morning, but to speak about their sister was utterly intolerable!
“You brats dare to talk back to your elders, I’ll beat you to death!” Pangya’s mother glared, bent down to remove the shoes from her feet, and aimed to throw them at the brothers.
“Go ahead and hit one of us if you dare!” Xia Ningxing stepped forward, her gaze ice-cold and devoid of any warmth. She casually crushed a stone in her hand, the crushed stone falling through her fingers like sand.
Pangya’s mother was dumbfounded and immediately shut her mouth.
Where did this demon come from, with such monstrous strength!

Xia Ningxing had possessed supernatural strength even before she was transported into the book, and that strange power had followed her here.
At this point, Pangya’s mother didn’t dare to utter another word and timidly put her shoes back on her feet.
Xia Ningxing tossed away the broken stones and sat back on the tricycle, patting her eldest brother, who was at the front riding, “Brother, let’s go.”
The tricycle continued its journey toward the city.
But along the way, the five brothers clearly had lost the high spirits they had when they set out.
After all, anyone would feel bad after having a bucket of cold water poured on them like that.
Children are still children, unable to control their emotions after a few mocking words. Ningxing, an old hand at dealing with this sort of thing, sighed and coached them with a metaphor, “Brothers, if an animal barks at you, would you get angry because of that?”
“How could that be possible, why would we stoop to argue with an animal!”
“Right!”
“It’s just an animal.”
All five brothers replied in agreement.
Ningxing’s lips curled into a gentle smile as she raised an eyebrow, “Then why are you still angry now?”
All five brothers were taken aback at once.
Indeed.
Why were they bothered by a bunch of animals!
Any lingering unhappiness quickly dissipated.
Seeing smiles returning to their faces, Xia Ningxing slightly curled her lips.
They were almost at the downtown area.
Seated on the small chair on the tricycle, Ningxing surveyed the surrounding environment, preparing to choose a suitable spot for setting up their stall.
The street opposite the shopping mall had a large flow of people, and due to Valentine’s Day, there were also many couples.
There were only a few street vendors, though.
If this were in the future, the streets would be filled with stalls selling roses and gifts.
Once Ningxing had decided on a specific location, she immediately raised her hand to signal to her eldest brother who was focused on the tricycle, “Big brother, let’s set up our stall on the street opposite the shopping mall.”
