Chapter 347 - What kind of idiot gave up their reputation and peaceful life for a few thousand yuan? (3)

Xu Jin, who had only been sought after for just a few days, felt very indignant.

Sure, he made a mistake when it came to Fang JunRong but he had already apologized for his mistake, hadn’t he? Why did Fang JunRong’s fans have to be so aggressive? As for Fang JunRong sharing her two formulas, he felt that was not a big deal. She was so rich already. Shouldn’t she share some things? It wasn’t like she shared the formulas for Beautify Pills and Hair Growing Cream also.

The only saving grace were the money that he had earned from the for-profit account for the right to repost. He made several thousand yuan just from that – the equivalent of one month’s salary for him.

He patted his pocket and decided to go get some crawfish and some beer.

The rain in Xichang City had stopped in the last few days and the weather had been so hot that nobody wanted to leave the house during the day time.

The heat from the road enveloped everything and made them feel sticky all over. Crawfish and beer were the best combination for this weather.

He went over to the crawfish shop that he frequented and said to the boss just like any other time, “Give me 3 lb of crawfish, numb and spicy flavor.”

The shop owner, who had always been friendly to him in the past, looked angrily at him this time and he sounded like he was about to unleash on him, “Hoho, I am not going to sell you any.”

Xu Jin, too, was annoyed. “Whatever. I’ll just get them somewhere else.”

This was his favorite crawfish place but he wouldn’t say it was irreplaceable. Nevertheless, after hitting several places, Xu Jin learned that most of the shops had turned him down.

The only place that would sell to him was so nasty that he wouldn’t take them even if they were free.

He was angry but also very baffled. He hadn’t done much the last few days so why was it that everybody was annoyed at him? To the point that they would turn down his business.

Finally, when he walked past a shop where a few neighbors were chatting, he caught his own name.

“Did you see that? That is Xu Jin. He is a shameless one. He smeared Fang JunRong online for money. You know who Fang JunRong is, right? She was the one that Mayor Mo talked about nonstop during his interview.

“How could anyone smear someone as nice as her? His conscience must have been eaten by dogs.

“On top of that, he bragged about what he had done. If I was him, I’d be too shamed to show my face. It was him who ruined the reputation of all of us at Xichang City. Any one who didn’t know better would think that we are all like him.”

What they said enraged Xu Jin. He stared at them angrily. These people had already seeb him and kept on badmouthing him right in front of him.

When the few who were talking saw Xu Jin, they showed no guilty conscience for being caught red-handed by the person in question. Instead, they pointed straight at him and said, “Look, that’s the one.”

“What do you think you are looking at?!”

Considering that he was way outnumbered, Xu Jin had no choice but to retreat.

He regrets it now. He had let the incident get to his head and had bragged about it when he was out drinking the last few days.

Now everyone around here knew that he was the one who posted the video. That was just the beginning. Now whenever he walked outside, others would point at him and talk about him.

They said he was the man who betrayed his own conscience for money and that he was a terrible person.

The girl that he was to have an arranged date with straight up hung up on him when she heard his name, stating that she would not want to be seen with him.

He realized that he was well-known in his area now but not in the way that he had wanted.

He regretted it to no end.

He had sacrificed his own reputation and peaceful life for just a few thousand yuan.

What an awful tradeoff!
