Chapter 361 - XinYun was even nicer to Kuaikuai after the incident. (3)

Fang JunRong did have someone in mind. Such unscrupulous acts with no bottom line reminded her of someone – Zhang Bi. If it truly was him, he most likely would not have done it himself but through someone else.

Fang JunRong notified the police of that so they could start with Zhang Bi.

As luck would have it, they were able to arrest the person who provided the drugs to Zhang Meixia and, with some more digging, said person also exposed who he was working for and one layer after another, they were finally able to tie it back to Zhang Bi.

After Zhang Bi was arrested, they found a lot of drugs at his residence. After his reputation and his future were ruined, he was depressed and turned to drugs.

Possession of drugs and defrauding others of drug use was enough to sentence him.

Fang JunRong couldn't help but remember a saying: One neat family.

Zhang Bi expressed that he would like a meeting with Fang JunRong after his arrest.

Fang JunRong hesitated a little but finally went over to the police station. She, too, was curious about what Zhang Bi wanted to say to her.

She almost didn’t recognize Zhang Bi when she saw him. He was horribly skinny, almost emancipated. His cheeks were almost gone and his eyes were a pale gray color. Zhang Bi had always been a bad man but he was also pleasing to the eyes. Now even his only strength was gone.

She looked at him coldly, “So what is it that you want to tell me?”

Zhang Bi’s lips curved. “It is awful that your daughter is a drug addict, huh?”

Fang JunRong was a little surprised. It looked like Zhang Bi’s information was not too up to date. He didn’t know that XinYun did end up ingesting any of the drugs.

“Truth was I wanted to get at you and Jiang WenYu. Too bad I never had the opportunity so I had to look to your daughter as a target.” The viciousness on his face was almost palpable when he talked about Jiang WenYu.

“You can blame Jiang WenYu for it all!”

He looked happy when he talked. He had lived his life like a zombie all this time while his enemies were going up and up. He had such hatred in him. He turned to drugs for relief but that plunged him into another abyss. He wanted to drag Fang JunRong and Jiang WenYu down with him but was never able to find the perfect opportunity to do so. As such, Li XinYun would just have to do.

Fang JunRong’s lips twitched and she sorted out Zhang Bi’s strange logic in a few seconds – He wanted her to place the blame on Jiang WenYu and then the two of them could go at each other? This person really wasn’t all that smart.

She felt that her trip was an entire waste of time. Her voice was cold, “Your mother took all the blame herself for you and you had let her down.”

Zhang Bi’s eyes flickered when he heard about his mother but he said nothing.

“Let me tell you something else. XinYun did not eat any of the cookies and she is more than fine right now.

“All the work that you had put in and you had accomplished absolutely nothing. Now you are going to jail for that. You are the living testimony of a loser. Too bad you may not stay in the same prison as your mother and your grandfather. You would be able to have a family gathering in jail otherwise."

Zhang Bi was stunned and his eyes were short of popping out of his sockets. He mumbled, “That’s impossible. How was that possible?!”

He refused to believe that.

Fang JunRong gave him one last distasteful look and left.

Zhang Meixia’s parents found out what their daughter had done and tried to plead to Fang JunRong and Li XinYun over the next few days. XinYun was the victim and Zhang Meixia didn’t actually succeed in her plans. If XinYun was willing to reconcile, Zhang Meixia could receive a lighter sentence and perhaps get away with just a fine.

Both Li XinYun and Fang JunRong saw eye to eye on this issue – Whatever the law said. They would not forgive or mediate.

As far as Li XinYun was concerned, Zhang Meixia was a total stranger to her now.

As they stood firmly on the issue, Zhang Meixia’s parents had no choice but to give up. They dared not blow the incident up. If the incident was blown up, there was no way the public opinion would be on their side and what their family had done would be known to the entire country. They would be talked about behind their backs.

In their mind, their daughter was now a lost cause. They would tell others that she went to study abroad in order to save face. Face was, after all, very important to them.

It took XinYun quite a bit of time to get over that and she was even nicer to Kuaikuai after the incident.
