Chapter 394 - "Let me go if you want to save her!" (3)

Liang Feng couldn’t even talk to her. They just waited for the grandmaster to get there. They didn’t want to drag this out for longer than necessary and wanted to send this person away as soon as possible.

Suddenly, the turtle in the dimension started to stir, as though it wanted to get out of the dimension.

Fang JunRong and Kuaikuai had already reached some sort of a tacit understanding. Sensing Kuaikuai’s desire, Fang JunRong opened up her purse.

The very next second, Kuaikuai crawled out of it. It looked very smart with its neck turned.

Liang Feng, who was in a bad mood, found it comical when she saw Kuaikuai. “How come you brought your turtle with you?”

Fang JunRong gave her a helpless look. “Perhaps it had crawled into my purse when I wasn’t looking.”

Liang AnQi was already tied up on a chair and was able to move.

Kuaikuai seemed to have developed great interest in her. It crawled over to where Liang AnQi was and circled her.

Liang AnQi turned pale. She had always hated turtles since she was a child. She wanted to get away from it but she couldn’t move.

Kuaikuai circled her a few times and finally stopped next to her foot.

The grandmaster that Liang Feng had invited finally arrived half an hour later. Both his hair and beard were white already but his cheeks were still a reddish color. There weren’t even that many wrinkles on him. His white hair and youthful look gave him an oracle look.* The moment that he saw Fang JunRong, he was taken aback a little then looked squarely at her.

His gaze gave her the creeps so she asked him, “What is it?”

The grandmaster smiled at her and said, “Do good deeds, accumulate good karma, and evil shall not be able to take over.”

He said nothing else beyond that and turned to look at Liang AnQi. He couldn't help but shake his head. “Go back to where you came from.”

He pulled out a compass and placed it next to Liang AnQi. The compass began to spin wildly.

Fang JunRong didn’t know the first thing about metaphysics but she had an inkling that this grandmaster was for real. She would never have believed in something like this before her rebirth. But, if she could be rebirthed and possessed a dimension, she could also believe that there were those that had a certain ability.

Liang Feng carefully pulled out a box. Inside the box was the translucent jadeite, the one that she had purchased from Fang JunRong.

Whatever followed was uncharted territory for Fang JunRong.

After all the setting, she saw Liang AnQi’s look turned aggravated and twisted, as though she was undergoing great pain.

Fang JunRong noticed that Kuaikuai seemed to be in a much more excited state. It reached out its neck and was looking squarely at Liang AnQi. Fang JunRong was only too familiar with this look. This was what Kuaikuai looked like every time it encountered food that it enjoyed.

She couldn't help but sighed within herself: Kuaikuai, you should stop eating all kinds of rubbish. Be careful not to get an upset stomach.

Everybody else were staring at the scene unfolding in front of them and worried that they would interrupt the ritual if they breathed too loudly. Their fists were clenched tightly and they were mumbling all kinds of prayers.

About ten minutes later, Liang AnQi’s painful look mellowed out and a tired look appeared on her cute face. She looked like she could fall into a deep sleep the very next second.

All of a sudden, Liang AnQi, whose eyes were half closed, opened her eyes widely. Her expressions switched back and forth between vicious and gentle, as though two different individuals were having a battle within the body.

Kong Shuang immediately recognized her own daughter’s look and tears rolled down her face. “My dear daughter.”

Suddenly, Liang AnQi gritted her teeth tightly and the veins popped up on her forehead. Everybody else except the grandmaster was very nervous. The grandmaster comforted them, “Don’t worry, she won’t be able to hold out much longer.”

Staring at Jiang DeXian, Liang AnQi smiled all of a sudden, a smile so cheerful that vicious emotions almost materialized.

“I had already had someone put a curse on Fang JunRong. She will die if I die. I am the only one who knew who had put the curse on her. You must let me go if you want her to live!

“Death to me is nothing more than returning to my original life. Being about to drag Fang JunRong down with me would be more than enough.”

When she died, she would only return to her original body and continue her dry and boring life. She had nothing to worry about. Jiang DeXian had betrayed her and she wanted him to spend his life in pain.

Jiang DeXian’s face changed colors and he wanted to call off the ritual immediately. Fang JunRong grabbed onto him and her voice was calm as usual. “Don’t worry. I will be fine.”

She seemed to hear a faint spell in her ear but it was short lived. The voice disappeared quickly.

At the same time, inside a pitch-black house.

An emancipated-looking man held a wooden dummy in his hand. The head of the dummy was covered in black needles. He pulled out a bottle and poured a purple fluid over the wooden dummy. The fluid went straight into the wood and not a drop fell from it.

He started reciting a spell that nobody else could understand with a look of confidence.

The very next second, he coughed out a mouthful of black blood and his spirit weakened drastically. His curse had been reflected back onto him?

Translator's notes:

A picture says a thousand words. I loosely translated 仙风道骨 (xian feng dao gu) to an “oracle look”, but this is what it really meant.
