Rebirth: The New Bride Wants A Divorce-Chapter 546: Don’t hide from me
Later that evening, after Daniel reached home, his phone rang just as he stepped out of his car.
It was Henry.
"Boss, Collin visited his aunt," Henry informed him.
Daniel hummed in response, his expression unreadable. "Keep eyes on the place. Do not approach. I want to know who else visits."
"Yes, boss."
Daniel ended the call and gave a few more brief instructions through a message before slipping his phone into his pocket. His mind was already working through the implications. Collin was moving openly now. First Norma. Now his aunt. Either he was desperate, or he was planning something bold.
Daniel climbed the stairs and pushed open the bedroom door absentmindedly, still thinking about strategy.
The moment he stepped inside, his thoughts scattered.
His eyes widened.
The phone in his hand nearly slipped from his grasp, but he caught it just in time. Slowly, almost mechanically, his gaze lifted.
Anna was standing near the bed.
She was wearing black lace lingerie that hugged her curves perfectly, delicate yet bold. The soft lighting of the room traced her silhouette, turning her into a vision he had not been prepared for.
For a second, he simply stared.
"Anna..." His voice came out hoarse.
She gave him a small, playful smile and took a slow step toward him. "You said you would sulk if I made you wait," she said softly. "I do not like seeing my husband sulk."
Daniel swallowed.
All the tension from the day, the reports about Collin, the calculations and warnings, dissolved into something far more primal. His eyes traveled over her, unable to hide the admiration, the hunger, the disbelief that she was real and his.
They had not been able to finish what they started earlier in his office suite. Interrupted and pressed for time, they had both walked away reluctantly. But now, standing in their bedroom, Daniel could sense that something far more intimate awaited him.
"I am not sulking anymore," Daniel muttered, his eyes never leaving her enchanting figure.
She looked so tempting that he felt as though he could undress her with a single glance.
He closed the door firmly behind him, shutting out the world. Every thought about Collin, Norma, and the chaos outside faded into the background. Right now, there was only Anna.
He walked slowly toward the bed, his gaze dark and intent.
To his surprise, Anna knelt before him on the mattress, her posture graceful yet bold. The sight alone made his breath hitch. She looked up at him through her lashes, a soft smile playing on her lips.
Daniel leaned closer until their faces were only an inch apart. He could feel the warmth of her breath against his skin.
"I know," she whispered softly. "That is why I did not want you to wait any longer."
Without giving him another moment to think, she closed the distance and claimed his lips.
The kiss was slow at first, testing, savoring. Then it deepened, full of the tension they had been holding back all day.
Daniel responded instantly.
He shrugged off his suit jacket without breaking the kiss and tossed it aside carelessly. His hands moved to unbutton his shirt, impatience creeping into his movements as he discarded it as well.
Anna’s fingers curled into his shoulders, drawing him closer. The air between them grew warmer, heavier with restrained desire finally being released.
Daniel wrapped one arm securely around her waist and lifted her effortlessly, turning and laying her gently onto the bed. He hovered over her, his gaze intense, almost reverent.
There was something different in his touch tonight. Not rushed, but charged. As if the frustration of the interrupted afternoon had only made this moment sharper.
Anna could feel it too.
She had prolonged her own desire longer than she admitted. Teasing him, making him wait, watching him struggle to maintain composure in the office. Now that they were alone, in their own space, she no longer needed to hold back.
Her hands slid up his arms, tracing the lines of his muscles before resting against his chest.
"You look at me like that," she murmured softly.
"Like what?" he asked, brushing a strand of hair away from her face.
"Like you are starving."
A faint smile tugged at his lips. "Maybe I am."
He lowered his head, kissing her slowly, deliberately. Not hurried, not frantic. He wanted to feel every second of this. His lips trailed from her mouth to her jaw, then to her neck, leaving warm, lingering touches that made her inhale sharply.
Anna’s fingers tightened against him.
"Daniel," she whispered, his name leaving her lips like a quiet plea.
He lifted his head slightly, meeting her eyes. The intensity there softened for a brief moment.
"Tonight," he said gently, "you are mine completely."
She smiled up at him, her confidence unwavering. "I have always been."
That simple admission seemed to undo the last thread of restraint within him.
He kissed her again, deeper this time, his hands holding her securely as if afraid the world might intrude once more. Outside their room, battles were being planned and secrets were unfolding. But inside, there was only warmth, closeness, and the reassurance they both needed.
Anna wrapped her arms around him fully, pulling him down until there was no space left between them.
Now that they were alone, in their home, with no interruptions waiting beyond a closed office door, neither of them intended to stop.
The black lace lingerie that had once clung to her curves was long forgotten, discarded somewhere on the floor along with the rest of their restraint. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
Now they lay tangled together on the bed, bare and breathless, the air between them thick with warmth and the scent of their mingled desire. Daniel had taken his time with her, worshipping every inch of her body as though memorizing it anew.
His lips had traced slow, deliberate paths over her skin, leaving behind faint marks—evidence of his hunger, his affection, his claim. Each kiss had drawn a soft gasp from her lips, each lingering touch melting her further into the sheets beneath them.
Anna’s chest rose and fell unevenly as she tried to steady her breathing. Her body felt pliant, exquisitely sensitive from the attention he had lavished upon her.
Daniel finally pulled back, his hands sliding away from her hips as he straightened onto his knees. His gaze swept over her with open admiration, dark eyes glinting with satisfaction and something far more primal.
"On your fours," he said, his voice low, edged with command.
There was no hesitation in her response. Like an obedient wife who trusted her husband completely, Anna shifted at once, turning and positioning herself as he had instructed.
The cool air brushed against her heated skin as she moved, sending a faint shiver down her spine. She could feel his eyes on her—intense, appreciative, possessive.
From where she was, her reflection in the mirror of her dressing table was unmistakable.
She caught sight of herself and paused for a heartbeat. Her cheeks were flushed a deep rose, her hair tousled and falling loosely around her shoulders. Darkened patches marked her collarbone and the curve of her breasts—Daniel’s love bites blooming against her pale skin like secret signatures. Even her lips were swollen from his relentless kisses.
The sight stole her breath.
She barely recognized the woman staring back at her. Gone was the composed, dignified Anna she presented to the world. In her place was someone softer, more vulnerable—marked by passion and utterly undone.
A sudden wave of shyness washed over her, unexpected and intense. Heat flooded her face as awareness crept in, and she lowered her gaze, unable to meet her own reflection any longer.
Daniel noticed the subtle change in her posture. He reached forward, his hands settling firmly on her waist, thumbs brushing soothing circles against her skin. "Look at me," he murmured, his tone no longer commanding but gentle, coaxing.
Slowly, she turned her head toward him. Their eyes met, and whatever embarrassment had taken root inside her began to dissolve beneath the warmth she found in his gaze. There was no mockery there, no impatience—only admiration and something deeper, something steadfast.
To him, she wasn’t exposed or vulnerable. She was beautiful. Desired. His.
"You have no idea how breathtaking you are," he said quietly.
Her lips curved into a small, hesitant smile. The tension in her shoulders eased, replaced by a different kind of awareness—one that thrummed between them like a live current. She could feel his closeness now, the solid warmth of him just behind her, his breath fanning lightly over her back.
The mirror no longer felt accusing. Instead, it reflected something intimate and raw: a woman surrendered not out of weakness, but out of trust.
A wife unafraid to yield because she knew she was cherished. The faint marks on her skin were no longer sources of embarrassment but reminders of the passion they shared, of the fire that burned bright between them.
Daniel leaned closer, his lips brushing lightly over her shoulder in reassurance. "Don’t hide from me," he whispered.
And this time, she didn’t lower her eyes.
