Chapter 1887: Chaos In The Capital

-----

Kim Hua led the combined army of Cultivators, Undead, and Yggdrasil’s people as they leaped into the Empire of Light, witnessing the tremendous chaos unfolding in every direction.

"GRYAAARRR!"

No sooner had they begun their descent than a swarm of hundreds of Vampiric Chimeras surged upward—mutated victims the vampires had captured, twisted with Evil God Crystals, Miasma, and their own blood.

"Damn it! To think the vampires have already made so many!" Fabian groaned. The boy swiftly encased himself in full armor forged from Demonic Crystals, drawing on his Miasmic Ability as a transformed Chimera. "Well, we aren’t as weak as we used to be!"

Summoning his Dream Weapon—a massive hammer of crystalline power—and channeling his Martial Soul, he swung with devastating force, crushing dozens of the monstrous chimeras in a single blow.

They could not be reasoned with; their minds had been dead for far too long.

Maria had warned them in advance to prepare for such horrors and had instructed them that it was kinder to end these creatures quickly so their souls could finally rest in peace with Hel.

"Fabian, don’t be reckless!" Spectra cried, seeing him swarmed by beasts. She unleashed her own power; her Dream Spirit manifested as a vast mass of countless ghosts that fused into her body.

Her Dream Spirit, "Legion of Ghosts," was exceptionally rare: a growing horde of dozens of spirits that multiplied and strengthened as she accumulated Dream Essence over time.

"I’m sorry, everyone, but this is what we must do!"

Using her unique phantasmal chimera constitution, the girl transformed into a hauntingly beautiful ghostly princess and unleashed a storm of phantasmal claw strikes, tearing the chimeric monsters apart even as tears streamed down her face.

"Hey, you guys! Don’t hog all the fun!"

"We can help too!"

"Let’s go! Time to fight and prove ourselves!"

Inspired by their friends, Nick, Beery, and Garon stepped forward, unleashing their Miasmic Abilities and Dream Weapons while channeling their Cultivation, which had already reached the Nascent Soul realm.

Nick, master of poisons, summoned twelve needles of shifting colors—his rare "multi-object type" Dream Weapon allowed him to hurl deadly poisonous darts in every direction to neutralize foes instantly.

Lin Ming, the legendary Poisonous Needle Master of Murim, had trained him well, guiding the boy in Poison Arts and Hidden Weapon Martial Techniques.

Beery’s cursed vines erupted outward, weaving into a towering knight of razor-sharp, needle-covered vines armed with a vine sword and shield. Infused with his heart-shaped Dream Spirit, the construct moved with devastating grace—Nature Magic learned from Emeraldine made his attacks mercilessly effective against the chimeras.

Garon, meanwhile, manifested his Dream Weapon as volcanic stone and roaring flames that cloaked his body. He grew taller and far stronger, resembling a certain blazing student from the Azure Star world. With fiery punches and meteoric strikes, he burned and battered the beasts into ash.

The Murim Cultivators watched in awe as these children fought with astonishing talent and power. Their master had not exaggerated; Yggdrasil truly was a "crazy world" in its own right.

Though other worlds sometimes seemed "more interesting" or even "stronger," that was only Maria’s misconception. Beings from Yggdrasil were naturally more gifted and powerful than those from places like Murim or Zodiacron Prime.

Even at their base strength, these children rivaled Golden Core Cultivators at the Grand Perfection Stage. Having ascended so easily to Nascent Soul, their growth continued at a terrifying pace.

Despite being Nascent Soul cultivators, their raw power now matched Expert Immortals.

With their help alone, the group tore through the swarm of bat-like chimeras and reached the ground.

Their shadow bracelets activated, transforming into shadow parachutes that eased their descent and let them land safely.

"Good! Thank you for your help, Fabian, Spectra, Nick, Beery, and Garon!" Kim Hua said with a gentle smile, though his brows remained furrowed. "Everyone, listen! We divide into groups of five—no more, no less! Assemble quickly and spread out in different directions. Find as many people as you can and pull them into your Shadows, whether they resist or attack you!"

"OOOHHH!"

The disciples and Undead roared in unison, charging off in tight groups of five.

Julia, her two maids, and her butler formed one group of four; Kim Hua joined them to complete the five, which made Julia visibly brighten.

"I will lead the way—let’s move!" Kim Hua took charge.

They raced through the city, encountering people in utter agony and despair: some torn apart by monsters, others eaten alive, still more crushed beneath rubble from the gods’ careless attacks—gods who were supposed to protect them.

Their Dream Auras shielded the rescuers from the formation’s effects, but the city’s citizens screamed as their lifeforce drained away. Many had already withered into dried mummies.

"T-This is horrible!" Julia cried, looking around in horror. "How can we even stop this formation?!"

"Maria discovered that the formation core is Sirius himself," Kim Hua replied. "The only way to destroy it is by killing him—and that’s not something we can interfere with! Keep moving!"

The group pressed on desperately, rescuing people on the brink of death by healing them first or simply dragging them away when they fought back in panic, mistaking their saviors for more monsters.

It was frustrating. Even now, some citizens refused to accept reality, inventing wild excuses in their minds for the nightmare around them.

Still, the Dream Ghost within Maria’s Shadow Realm explained the truth to everyone, temporarily mimicking Julia’s Dream Spirit with her own abilities.

RUMBLE!

"Ah!"

As they moved, a massive explosion rocked the area. Julia’s eyes widened at the sight of a giant, muscular vampire clashing against a dozen fighters at once.

His upper body was bare, covered in glowing black-and-crimson tattoos that pulsed mysteriously. She realized who he was fighting—and how effortlessly he dominated them.

"He’s taking on so many at once and no one can even scratch him...! What is going on?!"

The giant vampire laughed.

Jonathan, Nia, Celes, Brunhild, Violet, Alma, Darkbound, Laura, Takeshi, Tear, and Veredorr attacked him with everything they had.

So many powerful fighters—the strongest ever assembled—and yet...

The man simply laughed, shrugging off devastating blows from Jonathan, Yggdrasil’s mightiest hero who had ascended to divine status after conquering the tower.

"{Heavenly Blade Descent}!"

CLAAASH!

Jonathan unleashed his strongest swordsmanship technique. The heavens themselves split apart; even the spatial crack overhead warped for a moment!

BOOOM!

An explosion of holy light and flames swallowed the giant vampire...

Yet...

"Heh..."

"W-What?!"

Jonathan’s face twisted in utter disbelief as he saw his target blocking the sword with a bare arm...

Not with his hand. Not with a barrier.

Just his bare arm!

The tattoos across the vampire’s body flared brighter.

"Most impressive. So this is the strength of the strongest hero!" the vampire laughed. "Incredible—truly impressive!"

"Stop mocking me!" Jonathan roared in sudden fury, swinging his blade with everything he had, moving as one with his sword in a deadly dance. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

"{Starlight Waltz: Constellation}!"

FLAAASH!

For an instant, Jonathan’s aura exploded outward. Dozens of stars manifested around him, linking into a magnificent constellation.

And yet!

"Splendid! Then I shall unleash my power as well—this time, with one technique."

"He hasn’t used any technique yet?!"

Cold sweat beaded on Jonathan’s brow as Hercules advanced.

"{Heavenly Blood Demon Style}: {First Form – Absolute Oppression}"

CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!
