Reborn as a Mechanist with a God-Tier System-Chapter 279: Final preparations [2]

Leon exhaled before slumping on the chair in his workshop.
This time, he didn’t have to go all the way to one of his living quarters to get a bottle of wine to celebrate the occasion.
Knowing that he would complete his final constructs to leave his shelter today, Leon prepared for it as he retrieved the bottle of wine ahead of time. Now, he simply popped the champagne and toasted to himself.
This was the life of a Mechanist.
Unlike other Classes, to grow into themselves and reach their full battle potential, they had to lock themselves inside their workshops working non-stop in isolation just to realize construct ideas.
And now, Leon was finally done with all his present ideas.
Though he was tired, the relief that came with it simply could not be explained as he felt like a weight that was on his shoulders since he became a D Rank Ascended was finally lifted.
After drinking to his fill, still sprawled on the chair in the workshop, he swept his gaze across the workshop, taking his time to observe and admire all his constructs which were the result of his hard work.
He appreciated the corner where all the weapons he’d constructed during this time were kept.
He appreciated the lumbering form of the Sentry-IV Autocannon Drone that was like a slumbering predator.
He appreciated the towering Bulwark MK.II Titan Frame that was over 4.5 meters tall.
Though he could not see it directly, he looked up at the concealed landing pad above his shelter where the Zerphyr-7 slumbered in hibernation.
Leon looked down finally and appreciated the 35 slumbering forms of the Doom Rover v0.2s, where the tallest of them stood at 3.5 meters tall while the shortest of them, the Beast-Type Class stood at just 2 meters tall.
Looking at the fruit of his work for the past 3 weeks, Leon could not help it as a big smile blossomed on his face.
Leon showed his construction ability and innate talent when singlehandedly constructing the 3 main blueprints of Warmachine Specialists, but most of the blueprints still came from the research that generations of Warmachine Specialists already did in the past.
Neither of the 3 blueprints really showed his creativity, all they showed was his skill and ability to construct already created blueprints.
With the Doom Rover v0.2 though, it was different.
This was a blueprint that he created from the ground up himself. And now, with the knowledge from the 3 main D Rank Warmachine Specialist blueprints, he showed his full creativity, upgrading the Doom Rover v0.1 with his new knowledge and creating 5 different Class Types of the robot to augment his combat ability.
Leon took inspiration from the Bulwark MK.II Titan Frame’s internal chassis musculature to design the Doom Rover v0.2s.
This upgrade acted as the singular biggest upgrade of the robot.
With it, he finally modified the original Doom Rover to integrate close-combat abilities. This reflected in all 5 Classes of the new Doom Rover v0.2, more evident in the Skirmisher, Scout, Melee, and Beast-Type Classes.
The Tank Class was the Class most similar to the original Doom Rover v0.1, featuring exactly the same design and aesthetics, including the weapon systems.
As for the other Classes, he got inspiration for them out of necessity and imagination.
As a D Rank Warmachine Specialist, with his catalogue of abilities now, Leon already had an idea of how his future battles were going to be like depending on the Class of the opponent he was facing.
In most battles, the Bulwark MK.II Titan Frame was obviously going to be the frontline combatant with him inside.
In major battles, he intended for the Sentry-IV Autocannon Drone to follow as heavy-firepower support for the mech suit.
Apart from the support of the Sentry-IV, in tight and intense battles, clever use of his Command Link Network ability with the different Classes of the Doom Rover v0.2s could be game changing.
For example, the extreme offensive nature of the Sentry-IV Autocannon Drone meant it was likely to run out of ammunition first in any battlefield.
And since the Drone was so slow, even with the Auto-Return Navigation System, it was not guaranteed to retreat safely to refuel.
This is where the Beast-Type Class Doom Rover v0.2s come into play.
With them around, no matter the battlefield terrain, they would be able to swiftly support the Sentry-IV, resupplying it with ammo and ADE cells when needed, alongside supporting other constructs to keep fighting.
The presence of the Beast-Type Class Doom Rover alone guaranteed and elevated Leon’s theoretical longevity in any battlefield.
Also, in a battlefield with multiple high-priority targets, if Leon was held back with the Bulwark MK.II Titan Frame, through Command Link Network, he could still hunt distant targets easily with the Skirmisher Class Doom Rover.
And if for some reason the Zerphyr-7 was restricted and cannot participate in a battle, the Scout Class Doom Rovers could slot in as substitutes for swift intelligence gathering and scouting operations.
Again, if Leon and the Bulwark MK.II Titan Frame was tied down while his allies faced a big obstacle, with Command Link Network, he could multitask and control the Melee Class Doom Rovers to break enemy defenses.
Afterall, though individually they were nowhere as strong as the Bulwark MK or the Sentry-IV, every single one of the Doom Rover v0.2s was still a bonafide D Rank construct with high offensive capabilities and this reflected fully in the Tank Class and the Melee Class Doom Rovers.
These 2 Classes were built for destruction when either of the Bulwark MK or the Sentry-IV was restricted.
And even while not restricted, they could act as support to multiply Leon’s firepower in any battlefield to swiftly overpower enemies.
And with the Beast-Type Classes keeping all the others well-supplied to keep on going, Leon could theoretically keep on fighting for days with enough ADE.
Leaning on the backrest of the chair, Leon grinned.
When he thought of the sheer amount of money that he poured into his D Rank constructs, he could not help but chuckle.
"Money really makes Mechanists".
