Reborn as a Transcendent-Chapter 633: Facing Absolute Despair?
"Princess!" Aurora's eyes lit up with excitement as she saw her benefactor suddenly appear.
"Calm down. If you get too excited, you might alert the people outside." Yaeger walked forward, her smile tinged with exhaustion.
"Ah… I’m sorry." Aurora quickly lowered her head, embarrassed.
"It’s fine." Yaeger gently patted her head in reassurance.
"Princess, why are they after you?" Fiat asked, his curiosity piqued.
"It’s complicated. I’ll explain later." Yaeger hesitated before deciding against telling them the full story.
For now, it was best if they remained unaware of the rebellion. Yaeger pulled out a chair from under the dining table and sat down with a weary sigh.
"I’ll need to stay here for a bit while I sort some things out."
"Princess, are you in trouble?" Aurora asked, concern evident in her voice.
From the look on Yaeger’s face, she could tell that things weren’t going to get better anytime soon. If things were fine, she wouldn’t be hiding in a place like this. Truthfully, this rundown house wasn’t an ideal hiding spot.
"It’s bad… but not hopeless. So don’t worry about me." Yaeger flashed a reassuring smile. However, a closer look revealed the slight strain in her expression.
"Aurora, give her some space." Fiat, sensing something was off, gently reminded his sister. "Princess, don’t worry. You can stay here. I’ll do whatever I can to help!" Fiat added with conviction.
After all, he had never been able to properly repay the person who had done so much for them. Now that the opportunity had presented itself, he wasn’t about to let it slip away.
Yaeger shook her head. "That won’t be necessary. Even if they search this place, they won’t find me. I’ll leave as soon as I come up with a plan. Just act as if I’m not here."
Fiat hesitated for a moment, a tinge of regret crossing his face before he nodded. "Alright, Princess. We’ll stay out of your way." Without another word, the siblings quietly stepped back, giving her space.
Yaeger let out a small sigh before pulling up her interface, scanning the quest details carefully.
‘This quest feels like one giant trap…’
As her eyes swept over the details, a bad feeling crept up her spine. Something wasn’t right.
[Quest Objective]: Emperor Richard has issued a citywide lockdown to capture you. If you are caught by him, the consequences will be dire.
‘If I am caught by him… This clearly refers to Richard. But why does it specify him? Does that mean Richard himself will take action?' As the thought struck her, Yaeger’s mind crackled like a storm of lightning. Instincts and fragmented thoughts rapidly merged in her mind. Ŗ𝘈𐌽ọᛒЁꞨ
‘The quest has a two-hour time limit… If I exceed it, I fail automatically. But why? That’s the suspicious part. It’s almost as if the system is guaranteeing my capture after that point.' Yaeger pursed her lips, a sudden realization dawning on her as she lifted her head.
‘That’s it! Richard is going to personally intervene after two hours!'
In all of Jade City, only Richard and Lili had the power to capture her if they acted personally. No… Allie was also a possibility. However, it was obvious that neither Lili nor Allie would go after her.
That left only one option—Richard. A powerhouse of Richard’s caliber wouldn’t even need to search—he’d find her effortlessly!
In an instant, every single escape plan she had crumbled to dust. Even running to the Sage Tower or the Cathedral was no longer an option.
‘I have no idea how strong Allie was compared to Richard before, but she’s definitely weaker now. And Irene? She’s only level ninety—one punch from Richard and she’d be out of commission. This won’t work, that won’t work either… Damn it, I’m doomed!'
Her thoughts spiraled into chaos, as if someone had stabbed a screwdriver into her brain and twisted it violently.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
Just as her mind was reeling from the overwhelming stress, a sharp series of knocks jolted her back to reality. "Open up!" A stern voice barked from the other side of the door.
Aurora and Fiat stiffened, tension gripping their bodies. Their first instinct was to stall, to give Yaeger time to flee. However, Yaeger had no intention of letting them waste their efforts on a futile act.
"Open the door," Yaeger said calmly. "Don’t worry—I won’t be found."
Aurora and Fiat exchanged glances, their eyes filled with uncertainty. With soldiers flooding the streets, it seemed nearly impossible for Princess to slip away. Yet, why did she seem so confident?
Most people wouldn’t notice, but Aurora and Fiat knew this room inside and out. And there was absolutely nowhere to hide!
"Go, or they’ll get suspicious." Yaeger flashed them a calm, reassuring smile. In truth, if she wanted to conceal herself, only a handful of powerhouses in the entire city would be able to detect her.
Despite their unease, Aurora and Fiat did as they were told, unlocking the door. Though uncertainty gnawed at them, their trust in Princess overrode their hesitation.
Click.
The door swung open.
"By order of His Majesty the Emperor, we are searching for a fugitive. Have you seen this person?" The guard captain’s voice was sharp and commanding.
Before the captain could finish speaking, the guard beside him stepped forward and unfolded a piece of parchment, revealing a detailed sketch. The face on the parchment was unmistakable—it was Yaeger.
"No," Fiat responded, his voice calm and unwavering.
"N-No, we haven't seen her," Aurora stammered, her voice betraying a slight unease.
"I see…" The guard captain narrowed his eyes. "Then you won’t mind if we take a look inside?" His tone left no room for negotiation.
"Suit yourself." Fiat stepped aside, pulling Aurora gently with him, his tone as casual as if he were inviting them in for tea.

On the surface, he appeared composed—completely unfazed. But beneath the facade, both Fiat and Aurora were brimming with anxiety. However, years of experience had taught Fiat how to mask his emotions, even in the most tense situations.
Aurora’s small hands balled into fists, her heart pounding violently in her chest.
The soldiers stormed inside, overturning furniture and rifling through every possible hiding spot with brute force. Both siblings instinctively glanced toward the living room—and to their astonishment, Yaeger had vanished.
The guard captain remained outside, flanked by over a dozen soldiers, standing watch. If anyone so much as caught a glimpse of Black-hearted Princess, a flare would go up, summoning reinforcements in an instant.
Bolstered by the sheer number of soldiers at his command, the captain exuded an air of absolute confidence. Under normal circumstances, even standing in Yaeger’s presence would be enough to make him tremble in fear—let alone attempt to capture her.
After an exhaustive search, the soldiers finally emerged, their expressions sour with disappointment. The captain exhaled sharply. "Tch. Move on to the next house!" Without another word, he pivoted on his heel and strode off, his men trailing closely behind.
Fiat waited until they had disappeared from sight before slowly shutting the door. As soon as the lock clicked back into place, a soft rustling came from the living room. Aurora and Fiat turned in unison—only to witness Yaeger materializing out of thin air.
"Such refined spatial magic…" Aurora gasped in awe.
"As expected of Princess… She makes the impossible look effortless," Fiat marveled.
If he recalled correctly, this stunning girl before him was supposed to be a Ranger… And yet, here she was—effortlessly wielding high-tier magic. Unbelievable! Then again, after seeing her miraculous medical expertise, Fiat was starting to believe she had no limits.
"Princess…" Aurora began, but before she could finish, an abrupt sound cut through the air.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
