Reborn as a Weak Earthling, I Became the Most Overpowered Mage Alive-Chapter 116: Ch : Roll the Dice- Part 1
[The game will start in 3...2...1...Go]
A dice appeared in front of every player around the clearing, and they quickly rolled it around. It was a standard d6 dice, and a lot of people got the same number.
Andrew got a 5 while Lilianna got a 3, and their respective squares shined. The small space was a 25’X25’ box, clearly too small for the massive population playing the game.
"Get to your box quickly, but don’t push yourself too much. You can back out as soon as you feel like it."
Andrew told Lilianna, and she nodded before she headed toward her box.
She was not a child who needed to be told what to do. But honestly, being cared for like this and being given instructions did help her feel a little better. It made her feel like Andrew cared for her. At least, a little bit.
Once Lilianna was off, Andrew hurried toward his square. The area was already filled, but people squeezed around to allow him inside.
Andrew was not in the mood to play around, so he created a shield around himself and pushed at least 2 dozen people out of the square.
"Hey, what are you doing-!"
People complained and fought against his shield, but he was too strong for them to fight against. In the end, everyone who shared the same square as him was eliminated.
[46 Players have been eliminated. Remaining players: 194]
[The second round of rolling dice will start in 3...2...1...]
The system’s notification came quickly, and Andrew quickly looked around for a dice. There was one near him, which he covered with his shield and headed toward it.
His presence caused other players to stay away from him, but one look around told him that Lilianna was not having such an easy time.
She was fighting tooth and nail for her spot, but unfortunately, she was not as good as some of the physically offensive players around her.
As much as Andrew wanted to help her, he had to hold back for her sake. Mainly because this was good practice for her to sharpen her skills against other opponents who wouldn’t go easy on her.
’Lilianna has been practicing a lot these days. She does seem more flexible compared to before.’
It was easy to see in her movements and how she moved around.
Lilianna did not usually shine much when they practiced together, but it was not because she was bad. It was mainly because she was surrounded by athletic and powerful people that outclassed her.
But here, among people of her own level, she seemed to be doing quite well.
[1 minute left to roll the dice]
The system reminded Andrew, and he quickly shook the dice before throwing it. The second timer started, and he calmly headed toward his square.
Anyone who got the same square as him shook their head and forfeited themselves from the game. They were not going to face him and hoped to win.
[10 Players have been eliminated. Remaining players: 184]
[The third round of rolling dice will start in 3...2...1...]
Once again, the dice was near Andrew, and he picked it up and rolled it. And this time, it landed on 1.
It was the ’snake’ space and the first bad space Andrew had gotten.
He entered it calmly, and a few other brave souls entered it as well. The air around him turned dense, and the world took on a reddish shade. Breathing became a little difficult, and Andrew felt curious about this change.
[You have entered the ’snake’s pit.’ The effect of snake’s venomous air has made your stats drop. All stats will drop by 5]
"W-What is going on here? I-Is that...a monster...?"
Someone pointed out, and seconds later, a snake jumped toward him. The snake was huge, and its jaw was the size of a small car. It could easily swallow a human whole.
The man who had been attacked tried to dodge. But due to the drop in stats, the snake reached him and bit him.
"I-I give up-! I want to give up right now. I cannot do this anymore..."
The man yelled, and the snake let the man go immediately. It no longer attacked the man and started to look around for other prey.
"Ug...h...it hurts...so badly..."
The injured man yelled as he lay where he had been bitten. He was not going to survive for long at this rate, and yet, not one moved to help him out.
No one wanted to waste their resources on a dead man, especially when they could be next.
In the end, the only one who moved was Andrew. He walked toward the man, and the snake attacked.
But his shield blocked the attack temporarily.
"Hey, do you have a potion?"
Andrew asked the injured man, and he took a gasp.
"I-I have...One minu...te..."
The man’s breath was rasp, but he handed Andrew a potion bottle. Andrew grabbed it and poured it into the man’s mouth.
He was able to swallow it with great difficulty, but he was lucky that he did so.
His wounds began to heal, and he was able to breathe easier now.
"I-I am alive...?"
The man exclaimed in wonder, and Andrew quickly stepped back once he was done helping the man out.
The snake had not stopped circling him all this time and continued to try and break the shield. But because of all the players, the snake’s overall level was much lower than Andrew’s, and thus, the snake was not able to break the shield, even with such an obvious advantage in front of him.
Finally, the notification everyone had been waiting for arrived.
[52 Players have been eliminated. Remaining players: 142]
In a matter of one round, almost over 50 people had been eliminated. If they were unlucky, then many of them must have died as well.
This mini-game no longer seemed as smooth or easy as people had made it out to be. And just like that, so many people regretted their decision to join in on this game.
