Reborn as a Weak Earthling, I Became the Most Overpowered Mage Alive-Chapter 121: Ch : Vs the Snake - Part 2
The Ladder Snake had not only gotten more powerful but smarter as well. It had realized that Andrew was trying to stall for time and decided to increase its attacking power immediately.
Andrew cursed and moved his body to get away from the attack, and the strong tail hit the ground instead of his body, causing it to shake and break.
He let out a sigh of relief as he was spared, only for the snake to immediately slither behind him and try to grab him. Unfortunately, it was already too late for the snake.
[Time left in this round: 0 minutes 58 seconds]
As soon as the timer hit that mark, Andrew became a little more relaxed and used his ability ’Invulnerability’. A powerful force overcame his body, and he suddenly felt light-headed.
[Invulnerability has been used. You will become immortal for 1 minute starting now]
The snake coiled its body around Andrew once more, but no matter how much it squeezed, it became of no use. Andrew was not getting hurt, nor was he feeling the same pressure of suffocating as before.
The boss noticed that Andrew was not taking any damage but could not figure out why. It could only try to squeeze him harder and even secrete venom from its skin to try and poison Andrew.
But it was all of no use. Andrew was immune to it all, and he looked the Ladder Snake right in the eye as the countdown lowered.
His dagger hit the same location he had hit earlier, and the Ladder Snake was forced to give up on him. But Andrew was not done.
Since there was no way for him to die now, he decided to use all his power to kill the Ladder Snake. The level 35 monster was possible to kill, but only if Andrew used all his power.
"Hehehe, I don’t feel afraid at all. I wonder if my current state will allow me to pour even my life energy into my spells without any consequences."
That would increase his power two-fold, but Andrew was not sure if it was possible or not.
Pouring one’s life into a spell was an instant-kill move for the caster. But since he was invincible right now, he could test it.
’Just a little. I can try tapping into it to see if it works...’
Maybe the ability had made Andrew a little more reckless compared to before, but he wanted to gamble with his life.
He prepared the spell and tapped into his internal power. He felt the strain but not the feeling that had been described to him.
So he poured a little more before his instincts told him to stop.
Andrew immediately stopped and noticed that his spell had increased double in strength. He immediately hit the Ladder Snake with the spell, causing it to disintegrate into dust. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
[You have defeated The Ladder Snake level 35. Your reward has been revised.]
[Time left in this round: 1 second]
[The mini-game has been cleared. You have become the only one surviving and standing.]
[Mark Dawson is the winner for this circle of Snake-and-Ladder game.]
The system announced, and Andrew immediately brought out a full cure and drank it before his minute was up.
His invulnerability fizzled within seconds, and Andrew immediately felt the pain of using his power so recklessly.
There was an immediate strain on his heart that made Andrew gasp in pain. He clutched his heart and collapsed onto his knees.
’Ah, the pain is something else. I better not tap into my soul for power unless I have no other way.’
Andrew took a deep breath to calm himself down, and he immediately felt a hand resting on his shoulder.
It felt too big and heavy to belong to Lilianna, so Andrew immediately turned around to see who it was.
"You fucker-! How dare you try to do that to me-?"
It was the unnamed player, now trying to pick a fight with Andrew for having been pushed out of the barrier.
Andrew gave him a patient sigh, but in reality, he was not in a mood to deal with this fool either.
So he grabbed the hand resting on his shoulder and twisted it around. It caused the man to immediately let go of him.
"I am not going to take your bullshit right now since I am not in a good mood. Next time you try to grab me, I am going to break your arm."
Andrew warned, and the unnamed player immediately took a step back. But his hesitation did not last for long, and he foolishly tried to attack Andrew once more.
"Fuck you-! I am going to kill you-"
He never got too far because a gunshot injured him. The man clutched his shoulder in pain and looked in the direction where he had been shot from, and his eyes landed on a short female standing not too far away from him.
Lilianna kept her gun aimed at him, and her eyes were hard.
"Step away from Andrew right this moment, or I will shoot again. Do not try and test me on this."
Lilianna warned, and the man in front of her gritted his teeth before he pulled back a little.
"Fine, I understand. I am going to step away now. Just...do not shoot me again."
Despite the fact that the unnamed player had abilities and his body would likely survive a few gun wounds in its current state, he had an irrational fear of guns which he could not conquer.
And not only him, even other people around them felt a little scared of Lilianna, who held her gun up. They quickly made their way around, not wanting to test her now that the game was over.
Lilianna waited for everyone to leave before she lowered her gun, and all the confidence from her body bled away.
"I-I cannot believe that actually worked. I-I was so afraid that I would have to shoot again..."
Lilianna complained as her hands shook in fear and agitation. She felt drained, and yet, she forced herself to walk toward Andrew and start trying to heal him.
