"It’s becoming dark once more. Ugh, how long will we have to be here for? I cannot see anything again."

Clara complained as she tried to walk as fast as she could. But her arm was immediately grabbed and she was pulled back by someone. She let out a yelp, immediately turning around and trying to hit the person, but Andrew’s voice stopped her.

"Clara, calm down. It’s just me. We all should hold hands to ensure that we are together and do not separate."

Andrew told her and she relaxed. Her other hand was positioned such that someone else would hold her arm and Andrew grabbed Lilianna’s hand on the other side.

They all quickly moved, somehow somewhere along the way, the four became five and by the time they finished the challenge for this round, confusion started to seep into all their expressions.

"What the-! There are two Andrew here? Which one of you is real?"

Clara asked as she looked between Andrew who stood on her left and the one who stood on her right. Lilianna also looked between the two while Emperor stood aside with a motionless expression.

The two Andrew looked at each other and the one on the right quickly opened his mouth to clarify the situation.

"I am the real one. You all can ask me anything and I will be able to answer-"

Before he could finish, a sword flashed across his middle, causing the body double to disintegrate into dust.

"Y-You...killed him?... So, you are the real one? I mean, I never doubted you since the start. Good job."

Clara quickly covered her confusion with confidence as she looked at Andrew and gave him a thumbs up.

The other two just watched from the side-lines as this happened. They all regrouped to look at the map.

"Let’s take a look at the map here. We are currently in the middle of nowhere. Where should we go from here? Should we try our luck or try to find a map of this place?"

Lilianna asked as she looked at the empty map screen in front of her. Its existence proved that there was a map of this game available somewhere. But where exactly was the question that needed to be answered.

For the first time, Emperor spoke up.

"From what I remember, there are a few mini bosses in this stage that give rewards if you defeat them. I never bothered with them before and just brute-forced these stages. But maybe it will be optimal to try and find these bosses this time."

In his past life, Emperor had faced mazes like these far down the timeline. It had been when he had already become too powerful and could take on anyone.

At such a time, he had not needed a map to avoid enemies and encounters. But now was a different time.

"Hmm, that is not a bad idea. Alright, let’s look for a map of this place first."

Andrew agreed as well as he stood up first. The others followed his lead quickly.

"I can try using the plants to show us the way. There are not a lot but I can feel the presence of some of them here if I try hard enough."

Clara informed them before she closed her eyes to concentrate on the feeling of connecting with plants. It put a mental strain on her when she used her powers like this and it caused her legs to wobble.

Thankfully, Andrew was standing behind her and grabbed her shoulder before she could collapse.

"Thanks for catching me. I will continue to look around now."

Clara thanked him before she went back to her task. It was quiet after that, but Andrew noticed Lilianna’s intense glance toward him.

He was not someone who was bothered by others’ looks, but he could still not help himself from asking her a question.

"Lilianna, do you want to ask me something? You look curious..."

Andrew asked Lilianna and her face quickly reddened at the question. A shy look overtook her features before she looked at Andrew and where he was keeping Clara stable.

"It is nothing like that. I just wanted to offer you my help. I mean, maybe Clara will be more comfortable if I hold her up? Since I am a female as well and all..."

Andrew gave her a look which made Lilianna feel strangely unsettled. She shifted around on her feet and put her hands over her eyes to hide what she was feeling.

She was a little annoyed that Andrew was supporting Clara. Her feeling was not something she could control, and she did not even know why she felt like this. But a part of her really wanted to push Clara... or maybe Andrew away...

"I don’t mind letting you support Clara, but your height... will make this really uncomfortable for both of you..."

Andrew pointed out and Lilianna immediately felt her face burn. This time, she even looked away to hide the feeling.

"You... might be right."

Emperor’s eyes looked at her almost as if he was laughing at her. Lilianna could neither face Andrew nor Emperor. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

Thankfully, Clara quickly opened her eyes and let out a groan.

"Ugh, my head hurts. But I have good news. I found a boss not too far away from here. We can try our luck there."

The team quickly agreed to head out toward the boss next. Clara was a little unsteady on her feet, but she quickly got up to head out as well.

A loud roar was heard from behind the door as the team waited for it to calm down before they could head inside at the right time.

"I will go in first and distract the boss. You all... launch your attacks once it is distracted."

Andrew told them as he quickly put up his shield and went inside. The boss instantly saw him and started to attack him.

But Andrew’s shield blocked the attack and dodged to the side to lead the monster’s gaze away from the door.

Emperor instantly took this opportunity to launch a full-scale attack, finishing the boss off.
