Reborn As An Extra In My Own Novel-Chapter 35: Brain Rot
Chapter 35: Brain Rot
Just as Amy had said, both Noctis’ main curriculum and Elective classes were scheduled to commence tomorrow.
But I had a major issue on my hands: I knew nothing about magic.
Yes, as the author and creator of this world, I possessed a surface-level understanding of magic. That was the reason I passed the entrance exam with ease.
Beyond that, however, my mind was a blank slate.
"Here I was calling Amy dumb." I sighed.
That was the reason I now stood in front of the second library designated for first-year students.
A large structure reminiscent of Earth’s White House stood before me.
At the center of the first floor of the three-story building was the emblem of Noctis, the same insignia etched onto our uniforms.
Twin blades piercing a demon—it symbolized a unique technique devised by the founder of Noctis and the world’s first mage.
The library’s interior, however, was sleek and futuristic. There were no books at the entrance, only a white-lit space.
It featured a special technology exclusive to Noctis. By placing your hand on any wall and thinking of the book you wished to read, the library would teleport you to its location.
The library was divided into two sections: E-books, accessible via a book tab, and traditional paperback books, which were less popular among students due to their complexity.
And that was where I was headed...

"Time to use some cheat codes." I muttered.
The books I selected—no matter how odd their titles sounded, were essentially cheat notes.
This was because in the second semester, when the new professor who replaced Deerheart declared the most difficult exam yet, an exam that even the second-years had failed miserably.
Rachel, who couldn’t tolerate a poor score, and Isabella, who by then had fallen for Matt after he saved her from Deerheart, began the search for the perfect study material.
After a long search, they stumbled upon what came to be known among first-years as the Ancient Scripts.
This was because the first two books offered a simplified summary of everything first-years needed to know, along with knowledge even second-years lacked, all presented in a digestible format.
The final book was authored by an upperclassman who had already graduated; it was said he was a seer who used his foresight not only to pass every class but also to record the exam questions for all future years.
I couldn’t help but tip my hat to the mysterious upperclassman I had written into existence for convenience.
As the countdown hit zero, I was instantly transported into the library, which was just as white as its exterior.
Tall white shelves stretched toward the ceiling, arranged methodically across the room.
White cubic containers that shimmered in various colors floated throughout the space.
I glanced briefly at an upperclassman emerging from one of the cubes with a tablet in hand. He locked eyes with me, then made his way to one of the librarians seated behind a counter at the far end of the library.
The cube followed behind him. With a flick of the librarian’s hand, the cube shrank to the size of a toy, and she placed it onto a small shelf.
I nodded and proceeded toward the librarian’s desk. Offering a brief bow to the upperclassman, since the hierarchy of class and power was very real at Noctis, I stood before an otherworldly beautiful woman with pale skin, crimson eyes, and flowing white hair.
It finally hit me why the upperclassman had quickly looked away—she was, to say the least, breathtaking.
I didn’t even recall creating a character like this; it was beyond even my imagination.
The young lady raised her crimson gaze to meet mine and offered an alluring smile. "Hello there, do you need anything?"
Snapping out of my trance, I responded promptly. "Yes, a cube and the three books I requested from the system."
She nodded and turned to retrieve my items. I glanced to the left—just the glimpse of her figure was temptation incarnate. "Here you go."
She handed me the cube and the three books, and I quickly moved toward the other floating cubes.
Taking a deep breath, I whispered, "That was tempting." Shaking my head, I imbued the cube with mana.
The cube expanded, its white surface shifting to lavender with a hue of dark blue glowing from within.
Vapor hissed as the cube’s door, once indistinguishable from its body, opened.
Inside was a dimly lit chamber with a long chair that could easily double as a bed.
"That’s the reason students love this library."
As I stepped into the cube, which then began to hover gently, the world outside grew silent, all sound filtered away.
Even though I had written this myself, the inside was still awe-inspiring.
The interior temperature adjusted to match your body, and the lighting color adapted to the font and script of whatever book you were reading.
I sank into the cushion-like chair and opened the first book. I had already planned on purchasing all three from the library.
"No way I’m letting anyone else use this." Letting out a dark chuckle, I fixed my gaze on the book in my hand.
The first two books, Basic Theory of Magic and All I Need to Know About First Year, had red and green covers respectively. There was little else to note, aside from their considerable weight.
The final book, however, was lightweight, with a black grimoire-style cover—ominous and regal.
"How long has it been?" I muttered, recalling the last time I opened a book. "A year? Or was it two?"
Even during the CSAT exams, I hadn’t touched a textbook.
"Haaa!" I sighed deeply.
------
It had been approximately one hour since I began reading, and I had already fallen asleep ten times.
Yes, reading webtoons and web novels was nothing like reading actual books. Real books were boring—unbearably so.
"How was I even top of my class back on Earth?" I began to regret ever placing first in the written exams. At this rate, I had no hope of maintaining that position.
A full year of reading nothing but manhwa, trash isekai, MTL novels, and manhua had thoroughly fried my brain. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
Now I was stuck rereading the same page over and over again.
"There’s still two weeks, right? So I can rest now and... Arg!!" Frustration welled up as I searched for an excuse to procrastinate. I opened the book once more.
"Another round, brain..." I shouted to motivate myself and resumed studying.
-----
’Why couldn’t I have been transmigrated as a professor? Or maybe a mage?’ I grumbled internally, dragging my feet back to the dorm.
I had already called Neko-sensei to inform her I couldn’t attend the council meeting because I was studying. As a model student, at least in the school’s eyes, I was excused.
’One benefit of being a good student.’ I stared at the door of my dorm, took a deep breath, and stepped inside.
On my bed was Anica, eating while holding a game console. Hari sat on the floor, her back against the bed.
It seemed they were playing a game using the console I bought—with Hari’s money.
"Oh hey, Oppa." Hari greeted me, unconcerned about using that term in front of Anica.
"What are you two doing in my room?" I asked, dropping the three books I had purchased with what little was left in my bank account.
"Wait, let’s finish this game first," Hari said, while Anica stared at me and nodded.
"She was here first," Anica added lazily, kicking her legs up.
Sighing as my brain began to settle, I ignored them and moved toward the small pod near the kitchen.
I retrieved the sniper kit from my dimension ring and opened the box.
"Call me if anything happens."
The two glanced at me and nodded gently.
Opening the pod and stepping inside, I felt a cool breeze wash over my skin as a voice echoed in my mind:
WELCOME USER XXXX TO LORD OF THE MAGES
The light around me flickered intensely as a comforting sensation coursed through me.
The world I beheld was dark, but just before I could speak, sparks of light materialized, and with them emerged the figure of a female game character, adorned in a revealing outfit that left little to the imagination.
After a moment, she spoke.
"Welcome, brave hero, to the land of mages." She twirled slightly, then blew a kiss. "Select your name and destination."
A status screen, unlike mine and radiating a golden glow, appeared before me.

In the location section, images of various cities appeared—from towering coliseums to deserts that stirred a pang of nostalgia.
But I already knew the destination I wanted to choose.
"Take me to... Myriad Jungle."
"Very well, brave warrior. Now before your journey begins choose an alias."
"Call me—"
