The moment Lia flew inside the dungeon gate, she arrived at a massive beach, and the noise of sea waves hitting the shore entered her ears.

The salty air in the environment hit her face as the calm breeze caused her golden hairs to wave along with the air.

"This is..."

[And just as I expected, that muscular airhead has been separated from us right away! I knew it!]

Hearing Kai’s shouts in her head, Lia immediately looked around and noticed that she was standing on this massive beach all alone!

James was nowhere to be seen, and even the portal that teleported her inside had closed and disappeared right away!

Seeing this situation, Lia shook her head in helplessness.

She had encountered similar situations when adventuring with Team Astra, where she got separated from the others randomly, and thus she wasn’t even surprised anymore that James was gone.

"The dungeon portal disappearing is problematic though... this means that this is a type of dungeon whose exit will only appear when you successfully end up defeating the boss..."

"And as an A-ranker, I can’t defeat the boss monsters of an S-rank dungeon..."

[Well, I guess this is the ’Adaptation’ that muscular airhead was talking about... the dungeon has adapted according to you...]

[It’s given you the challenge... now either you reach rank S and defeat the boss or you perish inside this dungeon...]

Hearing those words, a faint smile appeared on Lia’s face as she looked at the vast ocean and spoke.

"I will clear this dungeon no matter what... I can’t perish here; after all, I have someone waiting for me back home..."

A certain expressionless face appeared in Lia’s mind as she increased the spirit magic output to her wings and enlarged them.

With a determined look on her face, Lia flew in the sky as she scanned the area around her with a powerful spiritual sense.

[S-rank dungeons come in various types and varieties; some are straightforward and take you straight to battle one after another before leading you right to the boss...]

[But some dungeons are like fully functional ecosystems with massive space and land, making it difficult to find the real boss monster of the dungeon...]

[From the look of it, this one is the second type...]

Lia has been to a similar dungeon before with Team Astra when they were completing conditions for the supreme tournament entrance qualifications.

The Dungeon of Maya was such a big dungeon that it spanned over thousands of kilometers of area, and they never even managed to explore the entirety of it.

It was depicting a ’moment’ from the past, and it had a really hostile environment and powerful monsters inside of it.

But back then, Lia had her friends, and they conquered the dungeon together, but things were different today; she had to do it all by herself today!

It was truly a test of her survival abilities; it was a challenge she had to overcome to earn her place among the S-rankers of this world.

’I can’t sense any monsters in the vicinity of a few dozen kilometres of here... only small animals and ordinary creatures...’

Lia was flying over a massive beach, and after the beach, there was a vast forest further inland, and it seemed to get denser and denser the farther it got from the coast.

’Don’t tell me that I am standing on the edge of some continent and I have to travel all the way to the centre of it to find the boss monster...’

If she were an S-ranker, this wouldn’t have been a problem, but with her current strength of a peak A-ranker, these thousands of kilometers-long journeys would end up becoming quite dangerous for her.

That is if the boss monster really was in the center; if it was somewhere else, things would vary according to the situation.

"This dungeon has demons and monsters corrupted with miasmic rot..."

[Worse... there seems to be some kind of monster that is capable of blasting powerful miasmic corruption waves in the air and spread them everywhere...]

[I can feel the miasmic flow coming from deeper inland and spreading to ouside...]

"A miasmic plauge?... Or perhaps it’s a singular powerful demon.... With this kind of miasmic rot spreading ability..."

Looking at the horizon, a look of doubt appeared on Lia’s face as she muttered,

"Is there a demonized ’Wind Dragon’ in this dungeon?..."

Dragons are one of the most powerful creatures in this universe, and every single adult dragon is a powerful S-ranker, and if given enough time, they can reach peak rank S, and some of them even break through rank SS.

Dragons are the type of species that are highly intelligent, and there’s barely been any record in the past of any dragon falling victim to miasmic corruption because usually, they can easily avoid it.

Dragon Valley never takes part in the wars of the world; they didn’t fight in the thousand-year demon extinction war, and they don’t usually come out of their home either.

So, it’s near impossible for demons to attack them or for miasma to corrupt them.

But there was a case when, in the demon extinction war, a rogue wind dragon got caught by the demon king and ended up getting demonized.

That fellow became a walking calamity for the armies of the world alliance, as he was capable of spreading corruption thousands of kilometers away using his ’World Authority’ that controlled air!

In the end, the Dragon King himself had to come and deal with him personally to put his soul to rest.
