Reborn as an Yandere : Yandere X Yandere-Chapter 240: The Future I Saw!
Chapter 240 - The Future I Saw!
"No, don't stop," she begged, her voice a mix of desperation and arousal. "Punish me, please punish me more!"
Maruti's eyes widened. She stood frozen, completely unable to understand what she had just heard. Her brain went blank. She just stared at Ravenna, who was giggling to herself on the floor like she had gone crazy.
"...Release my leg for a moment," Maruti finally said in a flat, emotionless voice, like this was all totally normal.
Ravenna obediently let go of her leg, and Maruti pulled it back in one swift motion. Then, without saying another word, she turned toward the door and walked out calmly like nothing had happened.
But the moment she saw the empty, dark hallway outside—
BOOM!
Maruti dashed forward with full speed, using all her strength in her legs. Her footsteps echoed loudly as she ran like her life depended on it.
"Aaacckkkk! Why is everyone here mentally ill?! Someone save me!!" she screamed in her head, her heart pounding hard.
It reminded her of someone from her past life—a certain femboy. She got PTSD of "that" incident.
She didn't stop until she finally reached her dorm room. Slamming the door shut behind her, she locked it quickly and leaned against it, breathing heavily.
Her whole body was covered in sweat, and her chest rose and fell as she tried to calm down.
"I'm out of here," she muttered between breaths. "Better to stay in my personal apartment than here!"
Even though it was already midnight, Maruti didn't care anymore. She was ready to move out right now.
Meanwhile...
Ravenna slowly stepped out of her room and looked down the hallway. But it was completely empty. Maruti had already disappeared.
"You left after getting me this aroused," Ravenna whispered softly, her voice trembling. "How cruel~..."
As she said the word "cruel," her body shivered again. But this time, it wasn't from pain or sadness. It was a strange, tingly feeling that spread across her skin.
Being left like this... it somehow made her feel even better. A strange, twisted pleasure.
---------
A few days quietly passed.
In that time, both Esdeath and Maruti had started getting used to their increasing strength. They spent time learning some new magic spells and had already used their essence stones so many times that it almost became a habit.
Maruti, being clever, used her divination magic to avoid Kailith and Alice, who kept stalking her non-stop. And surprisingly, it worked. Whenever her magic told her that Kailith was going to attend a class, Maruti would skip it completely without a second thought.
Meanwhile, Ethan was also growing stronger on his own. Cassandra was helping in her own way by arranging essence stones for Ethan's whole team.
But things weren't easy for everyone.
"Ahhhhhhhhhh... I'm gonna die! I'm gonna die! Someone, please save me!!" Violet's scream echoed inside her apartment.
She was lying on her bed, rolling and shaking from the pain. Her body was being reshaped—her bones and skin replaced as the essence stone activated inside her. Even though she had used a pain nullification essence stone, it wasn't enough. The pain was too much.
Outside her room, Ethan, Cassandra, Emma, and Sylvania were gathered.
Ethan looked helpless and worried. He couldn't stop pacing.
Emma and Sylvania were sitting on the ground, leaning against the wall, hugging their knees tightly. Their faces were pale and full of fear.
"Are we gonna go through the same pain?" Emma whispered with trembling lips. "And... if we faint? Do we have to do it all over again?"
Sylvania didn't answer. She just hugged her head, refusing to even look up.
Cassandra stood silently with a blank expression on her face.
"If you want to become stronger quickly," she said coldly, "there's no other way."
--------
A few days later, at night, someone else was screaming.
"Ahhhhhhhhhh! Ahhhhhhh!" The voice was high-pitched and full of pain.
It wasn't Violet this time—but a beautiful, feminine boy who looked more like a delicate girl. He had soft golden fur on his long wolf tail and two fluffy beast ears on his head.
It was Corin.
He was also using an essence stone to strengthen his body—but the process was just as painful as everyone else.
Right beside him, Esdeath was sitting on a wooden chair with a calm, blank face. Selene sat in her lap quietly, watching the scene unfold with big curious eyes.
"Mother," Selene asked softly, "do I have to go through that same pain one day?"
Esdeath didn't answer right away. She looked at Selene and gently patted her head. Then, she reached up and rubbed Selene's silver dragon horns. They had grown bigger in the past few days and were now clearly poking out through her hair.
"Of course not," Esdeath finally replied with a gentle smile. "You're a dragon. A silver dragon at that. You got a body that most people only dream of!",
Then, her expression turned serious.
"Also, be ready for tomorrow. After I come back from class, we're going on a hunt. Don't act recklessly. I'm not going to save you if you mess up."
Selene's eyes lit up with excitement. She gave a big thumbs-up and grinned, "Just leave it to me!"
The next morning came, and Esdeath was the first to wake up.
She walked into the kitchen, still in her nightwear, and made breakfast. She prepared two cups of tea and one cup of coffee, along with some simple toast and eggs.
The coffee was for Selene—she was being random again and wanted to try coffee for a few days. Esdeath herself preferred coffee too, but ever since Lortell had chosen tea, she somehow didn't feel right drinking coffee when Lortell wasn't.
From the day they had moved in, Lortell had also decided to live with them.
She had arranged everything herself, making sure Esdeath got a room with two bedrooms instead of one—while everyone else got only single-bedroom apartments. This way, Selene had her own personal room, and the other bedroom belonged to the couple—Esdeath and Lortell.
Of course, Lortell didn't live here every single day since she had a lot of important duties. So whenever Lortell wasn't around, Selene would come and sleep in Esdeath's bed.
It felt like a little warm family.
But Ethan wasn't left out either. He also got a two-bedroom apartment. Unlike others, though, his was given as a personal reward from Lilith. Which meant the room would stay his forever—even after he graduates from the academy.
--------
In the academy, the place was full of life. Students walked around everywhere—up and down the stairs, across the halls. The atmosphere buzzed with chatter and footsteps, filled with energy as the day moved forward.
Among the crowd, two female students walked side by side, carrying a few books in their hands. They were heading to their classroom, talking and laughing softly.
"Did you read that book? It was mind-blowing, right?" said the girl with light green hair and calm gray eyes. Her eyes sparkled with excitement as she hugged her books close to her chest.
"Which one? You mean the book you've been talking about nonstop these past few days?" her friend asked, raising an eyebrow.
The green-haired girl nodded quickly. "Yeah, that one! 'The Future I Saw'! What did you think of it?"
Her friend looked away for a moment, her face puzzled. "Honestly... I'm kind of at a loss for words. How could someone describe the future with such scary accuracy? It's so detailed... too real. It makes me wonder if someone powerful messed with the publishing date."
The green-haired girl almost jumped from excitement. "That's exactly what people are saying! The book was published way before the 'Dark Night' incident even happened! Can you believe it?"
She leaned closer and whispered, "They say an unknown author used his own money to print copies. No ads, no promotions. Barely anyone bought it at first. But now? It's the biggest talk in the whole kingdom! Even magazines are writing about it!"
The girl's voice became faster and more excited. "And guess what? It's just Part 1. That means there's going to be a Part 2 too—"
Before she could finish, a cold breeze suddenly swept past them. Their hair flew into the air, and their words stopped mid-sentence.
Both girls looked up, squinting at the sky.
There, floating like a fairy in the wind, was a black-haired girl—Esdeath. She spun and twisted gracefully, her long hair flowing behind her. She was gliding through the air, not just floating but moving as if she was swimming in the sky.
She controlled the wind element so smoothly that it almost looked like a dance.
"I can do that too!" another voice rang out from below.
Maruti appeared, fire bursting beneath her feet. With a powerful leap, she soared into the air, her body flipping and twisting as she followed Esdeath's movements, adding her own flair.
Both girls showed off their flexibility and elemental control, drawing the eyes of nearby students.
A few seconds later, Esdeath landed smoothly on the ground, bending one knee as her boots touched the stone tiles. Her long black hair swayed behind her. Maruti landed beside her a moment later, brushing dust off her clothes.
Esdeath crossed her arms, her sharp eyes staring straight at Maruti. "It's been days now. Just when are you planning to get something out of Ravenna?" she asked, sounding annoyed.
Maruti looked away with a frown, clearly trying to avoid the question. "How am I supposed to explain what happened back there...?" she thought to herself, her heart skipping.
She let out two fake coughs and raised her chin. "If you're in such a rush, why don't you go talk to her yourself?" she said, trying to sound bold, hoping to shift the pressure.
Esdeath raised one eyebrow, then gave a sly smirk. "Ohh? So you're admitting defeat already?" she just did a uno-reverse.
"You—!" Maruti's face twitched, and a small vein popped on her forehead. But she took a deep breath and held back her anger.
"Just wait and see how I escort her," Maruti said, pointing her finger at Esdeath. You better be ready to share the loot once I do!"
By 'loot' She was talking about two things—one, the loot they had gained from Elara's clone, and two, the loot from Ravenna they were expecting to get soon.
As they stepped into the classroom and walked toward their usual seats, the room was still half-empty. The sun peeked through the windows. Esdeath and Maruti sat down, stretching their arms as they relaxed.
Suddenly, Esdeath's eyes widened a bit, like she had just remembered something important. She quickly leaned toward Maruti and whispered with a serious face.
"Ohh, I forgot. There's no need to ask Ravenna for essence stones anymore. We want something else from her," Esdeath said in a low voice, her tone calm but sly.
Maruti sighed and looked at her from the corner of her eye. "What now?" she asked, clearly tired of Esdeath's ever-changing ideas.
"Let me tell you our plan first," Esdeath whispered again as she brought her face close to Maruti's ear and quietly shared her thoughts.
After listening for a moment, Maruti raised an eyebrow, surprised. "You're really good at courting death, huh?"
"Hehehe... maybe that's what I want," Esdeath giggled softly, resting her chin in her hand with a playful smirk.
———
As they waited for the class to begin, more students started arriving. Soon, Ethan and his team walked into the room together, chatting quietly. But as they reached their usual seats, their steps suddenly slowed.
Violet's seat looked terrible. Words full of hate and curses were scribbled all over the desk and chair in dark ink. Rotten food pieces and bits of garbage were thrown all around it. The smell was awful.
It was clear someone had done it on purpose.
"Who... did this?" Violet asked, confused and a little hurt. "Why would anyone go this far? I don't even have enemies..."
Sylvania leaned in, checking the desk. "Maybe it wasn't meant for you," she said thoughtfully. "We switch seats with Ethan every other day, remember? Maybe they were aiming at someone else."
"You mean someone's targeting us now?" Emma said nervously, her eyes darting toward Esdeath for a split second before she quickly looked away.
"Let's just clean it up and forget about it," Ethan said with a serious tone. He turned and left the classroom.
A few minutes later, he returned with a small bucket, a cleaning cloth, and some soap. Without saying anything more, he knelt down and started cleaning the seat himself. The others helped too, and soon Violet was able to sit, although she still looked uneasy.
But that wasn't the end of it.
Throughout the class, strange things kept happening to Violet. Someone kept throwing small objects at her—an eraser, the broken tip of a pencil, even a folded piece of paper. Every time she looked back to see who it was, the students behind her looked normal, as if nothing had happened.
She clenched her fists under the desk and lowered her head, her heart feeling heavy. It was clear someone was trying to make her uncomfortable on purpose.
From the second-last seat in the room, Esdeath quietly watched everything unfold. A small smile formed on her lips.
"Just because we'll have a lot of free time in the third arc doesn't mean we can't enjoy some fun little side arcs in between."
