Reborn As Noble-Chapter 1183: Guided by the Eyes of Truth ( )
Javier let out a long exhale as he continued walking down the hallway.
What if during the surgery I make a huge mistake?
What if during the procedure I accidentally touch a nerve or damage a vital organ?
He paused and scratched his head with both hands.
Ugh! Even though I love researching and gaining experience through study...
This is a real human we’re talking about.
She’s someone important. Someone I don’t want to lose.
Perhaps... I should ask for Father’s advice on this.
Since he has the Eyes of Truth, and he’s experienced and knowledgeable in so many things.
Sigh. I don’t have a choice but to ask for his advice, or perhaps Mother’s guidance on this.
He continued walking and then stopped.
"Err..."
He glanced around, searching for something.
Where are they? Which room?
Damn... I don’t know much about this area.
The only reason I arrived directly at Gracelle’s room was because I tracked her faint mana trace.
And I noticed when her mana trace grew weaker and weaker until it stopped for a moment.
Sigh... I guess I’ll use my skill to map this area and trace where they are.
Javier activated his skill while keeping both hands in his pockets, standing calmly. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Just as his mana ping began to spread, someone touched his shoulder.
Javier looked back and noticed it was Mimi, glancing up at him while biting her lower lip with a smile, her tail swaying happily.
Liana, Gloria, Felicia, and Delya were there as well.
He smiled.
"Young Master?" Liana walked gracefully toward him.
"Yes, Liana?"
"What are you doing here standing alone?"
"Ah..." Javier scratched his cheek. "I was called by Father, but I don’t know where the room is. So I was going to use my skill to trace them."
"Nya? I know where they are!" Mimi pulled Javier’s hand and started skipping ahead.
Javier just let her pull him along while Liana and the others followed slowly from behind.
Meanwhile.
Garius leaned back in his chair while checking his mana watch.
Alf adjusted his glove, and Erinette stood nearby.
"Hmm? I wonder what’s taking Javier so long?" Garius murmured, his tone calm but slightly impatient.
Francesca smiled. "I’m sure he’s on his way, or perhaps he needed to ensure Gracelle’s condition is stable before leaving."
"He better not take too long." Garius exhaled softly.
"I’m sure he won’t. Don’t worry, dear."
Just then, a soft knock on the door was heard.
Garius adjusted his posture. "Come in."
The door opened, and Javier stepped inside while quietly gesturing toward the door. "Stay outside for now."
Garius exhaled. "Just let them in. They’re your future wives, after all."
Javier stepped inside, followed by all his girls.
"Esteemed Father." Javier placed his fist on his left chest and gave a slight bow, while his girls bowed gracefully.
"So, Javier."
"Yes, esteemed Father."
"Tell me about her condition."
Javier explained Gracelle’s condition in detail, describing her current state, the life support systems in place, and the suspected curse poison affecting her.
Garius rubbed his chin while looking at Javier.
"So tell me, Javier. What is your next step? How are you going to proceed?"
Javier exhaled softly, worry evident on his face.
"I was planning to perform an operation to remove the curse poison, but..." He paused, his expression troubled. "I’m inexperienced with actual surgery, and I don’t fully understand the nature of the illness. The risk isn’t just in the procedure itself, but in my lack of hands-on experience and the unknown variables of this affliction."
"Hmm? What do you mean by surgery?" Garius rubbed his chin.
Javier glanced down. "Surgery means making an incision. Cutting open the skin to access the affected area inside the body. In this case, to locate and remove the source of the curse poison. It’s a delicate process that requires precision and knowledge of anatomy, something I’ve only studied in theory. It’s a procedure where precision is critical, and even a small mistake can cause severe damage or be fatal."
"So..." Garius glanced at Javier. "You mean cutting the skin open and removing the curse from inside, using your inventions?"
"Yes, esteemed Father. But I’m scared of the risks. Most of the tools I’ve made are sharp and precise, but if I make a mistake, it could cause irreversible damage."
"Hmm... why not create tools from magic-conductive materials? Smooth, specialized instruments that a healer can channel healing, purification, and curative magic through. When the tool touches tissue, it could heal as it works, minimizing damage and neutralizing poison or curses in real time."
Garius leaned forward slightly. "Did you forget that our healers can heal wounds? If you cut the skin open to see inside, you know the healing magic can mend the wound, purify, and cure once it’s exposed. You don’t need to physically remove anything, just let the magic do the work through the incision."
Javier’s eyes widened slightly as he considered the idea. "So... instead of cutting, we could use a magical probe to locate and neutralize the curse from the inside while healing any damage in real-time?"
Garius leaned back and crossed his arms.
"Don’t tell me you didn’t consider the abilities of healing magic. From what I know, the healers and priests in Mathrias, and others who likely came from traditional healing guilds, can only heal visible wounds, cure surface ailments, or purify simple curses. Their magic works on what’s visible or immediately accessible, not on something embedded deep within the body. While our healer unit is different classes from them."
He paused, rubbing his chin while glancing up at Javier. "But what Gracelle has..." He narrowed his eyes, his expression serious. "...is what we call a Curse Parasite. It’s a living curse that resides inside the body, feeding off the host’s life force. Unlike a static curse, it actively grows and adapts, making it far harder to remove with conventional purification."
Javier’s eyes widened as he noticed Garius’s right eye glowing faintly.
"And this living curse is... man-made, correct, Alf?"
Alf adjusted his glove and nodded. "Indeed, Your Majesty. This type of curse is often crafted by specialized assassin guilds or dark practitioners for targeted elimination. It’s designed to mimic illness and resist conventional healing, making detection and removal extremely difficult."
