Reborn As Noble-Chapter 501: Secrets of the Ancients ( )
Chapter 501: Secrets of the Ancients ( 501 )
Inside the letter, Javier read carefully:
“Once you finish reading this letter, either put it inside your magic storage or burn it. Up to you.”
“Now listen. Your mission:”
“Go to the Dwarven Kingdom.”
“Ensure the Human Kingdom and Halfling Kingdom don’t get Gumarak first.”
“Kill if you have to.”
“Attack if needed.”
“Use everything you have to stop them from capturing Gumarak.”
“You can choose whether to conquer the Dwarven Kingdom or leave it as it is.”
“But the one thing you must remember:”
“If necessary, kill Gumarak. But if you can, capture him before his celestial escapes.”
“Be careful. A celestial escaping its vessel is dangerous. Killing the vessel is the easier option.”
“However”
“I want you to capture him alive.”
“Drag that stubborn dwarf back here.”
“I want to punch him in the face myself.”
“I’m sure Rasdingen will also want his turn.”
Javier blinked, stunned for a moment.
He stared at the letter again, processing the brutal, personal tone.
…Father really hasn’t changed.
A faint smile crept onto his face.
He carefully folded the letter, then flicked his mana to store it safely inside his magic storage, exactly as instructed.
Rising slowly, he stretched his shoulders, clearing his mind.
The soft flow of the river beside him was a quiet reminder of peace.
Buddy splashed happily nearby, chasing tiny fish in the shallow water without a care.
Javier brushed dirt from his pants, a small smirk forming on his lips.
Then, in a flash, he vanished from the riverbank.
Moments later, he reappeared behind a figure hidden among the trees, a blade already drawn at the figure’s neck, pressed sharply against the skin.
His voice was calm, but edged with quiet warning:
“Now, now…”
“Why are you following me…?”
Before Javier could react further, a heavy hand casually tapped his shoulder from behind.
“Ah!”
Javier stiffened immediately, recognizing who was behind him.
He slowly raised both hands in surrender, a dry laugh escaping his throat.
“Ah… Esteem Father.”
Standing behind him, as calm and composed as ever, was Lord Garius De Armand.
Alongside him, Alf stood silently, ever-watchful.
Lady Fransesca meandered into view, smiling sweetly as if she were out for a casual stroll.
Javier sighed, lowering his sword with a resigned expression.
“Why are you both here…?”
“It’s dangerous around here.”
Garius crossed his arms, his sharp gaze glinting under the sunlight.
“Exactly why we came.”
Fransesca’s gentle smile warmed her expression as she clasped her hands.
“We can’t let our son go off alone without at least seeing how he’s doing, can we?”
Alf, standing nearby, looked like he was already mentally preparing for the mountain of paperwork that awaited, another “inspection”.
Garius stood firmly in front of Javier. He crossed his arms, then spoke in a low, commanding voice.
“Now, Javier. Listen carefully.”
“Yes, esteemed Father.” Javier immediately responded, standing straight with a serious expression.
Without saying another word.
Garius’s right eye glowed faintly with a golden light, swirling with ancient knowledge and an overwhelming sense of authority.
He stepped closer.
With two fingers faintly glowing, he reached out and lightly touched Javier’s forehead.
A rush of information flooded directly into Javier’s mind, knowledge, techniques, secrets.
The method of sealing a celestial.
Every symbol.
Every chant.
Every sequence of mana flow.
It burned itself deep into his memory.
Javier gasped softly as the flood of knowledge overwhelmed him, but he kept himself steady, refusing to waver.
When Garius withdrew his hand, the glow in his eye faded away.
He spoke firmly:
“Seal the celestial if you must.”
“Kill the vessel if you can.”
His tone was calm but carried a quiet, deadly seriousness.
“Choose wisely.”
“Once you act, there’s no turning back.”
Fransesca watched silently from the side, her hands clasped tightly as she silently prayed for her son’s safety.
“Honey bun~”
Without hesitation, Fransesca stepped forward and wrapped her arms tightly around Javier, pulling him into a warm, firm embrace.
He stiffened for a moment, then relaxed, burying his face lightly into his mother’s shoulder.
Her scent, warm, familiar, comforting filled him.
“Don’t die, okay~?” Fransesca whispered softly into his ear, squeezing him a little tighter.
Javier closed his eyes briefly.
“Yes, Mother.” he answered softly but with resolve.
When she finally pulled away, her gentle hands cupped his cheeks one last time.
She nodded, smiling warmly.
“Now go, Javier.”
Before he could move.
Alf stepped forward quickly, his voice low but urgent.
“My Lord… we must go now.”
From the shadows of the trees, figures wearing dark masks silently reappeared.
The elite shadow unit of Armand.
They were the same soldiers who had helped Javier on his most critical missions before.
They had been watching the area carefully from the start, making sure Lord Garius and Lady Fransesca stayed safe.
Alf’s gaze sharpened.
“We can’t risk your safety here any longer, my Lord.”
Garius gave a small nod, his tone calm as ever.
“I know, Alf.”
He turned back to Javier.
Their eyes locked for a final moment.
A silent, unspoken message passed between father and son.
Duty.
Family.
Strength.
Without another word.
Garius, Fransesca, Alf, and the shadow unit melted back into the forest, disappearing as silently as ghosts.
The clearing grew quiet once more.
Only Javier and Buddy remained.
Javier stood in silence, the only sounds around him the gentle whispers of the forest and the flowing river.
His hand rested lightly on his chest, where the new knowledge now slept within him.
The technique.
The method.
The sealing of a celestial.
He closed his eyes briefly.
This knowledge…
It wasn’t written in any book he had ever read.
And Javier had read them all.
From ancient scrolls hidden in the Armand estate’s private library.
To forbidden texts buried deep in ruined archives across the Armand Region.
He even tapped into every fragment of knowledge his previous life’s memories could offer.
Magic theories.
Sealing arts.
Forbidden rituals.
Yet,
This knowledge wasn’t anywhere in recorded history.
Not a single word.
Not a whisper.
Javier’s brow furrowed slightly, a tense expression crossing his face.
Is this… Father’s original creation?
The thought sent a slight chill down his spine.
If Lord Garius had indeed created such an art.
A way to seal entities as powerful as celestials.
And had kept it hidden from the world until now.
Then even Javier had underestimated the true depth of his father’s power.
How many secrets do you still hold, Father?
Just how much further beyond us are you already standing?
The wind stirred the surface of the river gently, rippling the water’s glassy calm.
Javier opened his eyes again, sharper, colder.
There was no more doubt.
The world was far bigger, and more dangerous than he had ever imagined.
His smile shifted.
From calm and serious…
To a sly, dangerous grin.
His eyes gleamed sharply, filled with cunning.
If this truly is Father’s original knowledge…
Then that means… it’s unfinished.
Which means… I can improve it!!
“Heh heh heh…” a low, mischievous laugh escaped his lips.
