Reborn As Super Heiress-Chapter 1864 - 1767: Brothers Settle Accounts Clearly
Back at the hotel, Su Qingqing and Zhong Xiaoyao were already waiting there. Upon seeing Huo Sining return with Qibao, Su Qingqing pouted and complained:
"Ningning, why did you take Qibao to the Li Family Manor without calling us?"
Huo Sining replied irritably, "You’re one to talk! I called you, you didn’t hear it yourself, who’s to blame? Qibao said you went to Fifth Avenue, I’d like to see what you bought!"
Saying that, Huo Sining pushed open the door and headed straight to Su Qingqing’s room, sure enough, upon entering she saw the bed and floor covered with shopping bags, including all kinds of clothing, accessories, cosmetics, and gadgets.
Huo Sining felt a headache coming on: "Su Qingqing, I ask you, buying Gucci, LV, Tiffany is one thing, but buying a Suzhou embroidery qipao in America, are you out of your mind? With so many malls in the Magic Capital, can you not pick a good one? Even if you really couldn’t find one, you could have gone to Suzhou directly instead of going abroad to buy a qipao. You’re really something!"
Huo Sining flipped through what Su Qingqing bought, many of which could be found back home. To make a grand trip to Fifth Avenue for a shopping spree didn’t sit well with Huo Sining, she couldn’t agree with Su Qingqing’s consumerist perspective.
Su Qingqing, however, seemed perfectly at ease: "So what, I am enjoying the process of shopping, not concerned about what exactly I buy. Plus, this qipao is really beautiful, I’ve never seen such a gorgeous qipao back home, Ningning, don’t you think this color is stunning?"
Huo Sining looked at the qipao Su Qingqing was holding up to herself, admittedly, this qipao suited Su Qingqing’s complexion quite well, it didn’t make her look too old nor too flamboyant; instead, it made her look more gentle and serene. But Huo Sining didn’t let Su Qingqing’s flattering smile cloud her judgment and asked seriously, "So, how much?"
Su Qingqing’s smile froze, her eyes darting around, then she threw the qipao aside and picked up another shopping bag, pulling out several new Dior lipsticks, saying:
"Look, I bought several new Dior lipsticks, pick any color you like!"
Huo Sining’s mouth twitched, speechlessly looking at Su Qingqing: "Cut the crap, how much did it cost?"
Su Qingqing’s shoulders slumped immediately, she glanced at Huo Sining helplessly, realizing she couldn’t escape, she closed her eyes and resignedly showed a hand gesture.
Seeing the gesture, Huo Sining almost rolled her eyes: "Wow, Wu Jun’s future looks bleak, I bet he’ll spend his life being your servant. You squander money like nobody’s business!"
Su Qingqing looked a bit embarrassed, muttering: "Well, you know, I got too excited for a moment and couldn’t stop myself... I’ll be more careful next time, really!"
Su Qingqing put her thumb and index finger in front of her eyes, carefully and innocently making a small gesture towards Huo Sining.
Huo Sining genuinely worried for Wu Jun; Su Qingqing didn’t understand the value of money and generously donated the millions she saved. This girl was used to spending lavishly, never thinking of cutting down expenses; in the future, Wu Jun might have headaches because of her.
But given that the Su Family is behind her as a strong backing, even Su Jinyuan wouldn’t let his sister suffer. Plus, knowing Wu Jun, he’d probably eat bread and pickles himself but ensure Su Qingqing has the best, never letting her face hard times.
Thinking this way, Huo Sining chose not to bicker with Su Qingqing, sighing as she considered arranging a well-paying job for Wu Jun when the time came, ensuring these two lovebirds wouldn’t actually face hardships.
Back in her room, Huo Sining received a call from Li Jun.
Over the phone, Li Jun hesitated but apologized to Huo Sining, hoping she wouldn’t mind Li Yu’s words, explaining that Li Yu misunderstood her but meant no harm.
Huo Sining smiled, unbothered by Li Yu’s words; he was just an irrelevant stranger. If she cared about such trivial remarks, she’d be long gone given the frequent insults on her social media.
"Li Jun, no need to apologize, I, Huo Sining, am not petty. I understand why you called; my stance remains the same—I’m not heartless. I can save your grandfather, but your family needs to show sincerity. I don’t want money; you must offer something that truly interests me in return. Otherwise, this deal doesn’t benefit me in any way."
Huo Sining disliked moral blackmail; she saved Qin Lianshan voluntarily. But with the Li Family, if Li Jun attempted emotional coercion, it would definitely disgust her. To prevent this scenario, she decided to take the initiative, voicing her terms and allowing the Li Family to weigh their options, then decide whether to save or not.
It’s like negotiating a business deal, keeping clear boundaries without emotions involved, straight and fair, owing each other nothing.
This straightforward approach might be hard for people back home to grasp initially, but Li Jun, grew up in America with orthodox Western education, quickly understood Huo Sining’s intentions, his tension easing, revealing a genuine smile:
"Alright, I understand. Don’t worry, I’ll discuss with my father and uncle, and get back to you soon."
Huo Sining didn’t respond, directly hanging up the call.
After a bath, she took out the ancient inkstone she won from the Li Family, placing it alongside the one she found in Las Vegas on the table.
Truthfully, at Li Changming’s birthday banquet, Huo Sining noticed some small details on this ancient inkstone, which is why she unexpectedly proposed buying the Qilin Jin Xing Yan in front of so many guests.
However, these details hadn’t been verified yet, and Huo Sining had some private interests, so she didn’t mention them openly.
Perhaps subconsciously, she sensed these details might be key to proving whether these two ancient inkstones were the legendary Shenlong Shenghu Inkstone and Qilin Jin Xing Yan. She worried that upon verification, Li Changming might regret it, so she intentionally concealed them, not revealing the truth.
