Reborn as the bastard son of a Duke-Chapter 114: Date

A whole week has passed ever since the four races and their leaders have gathered together to talk about what they were planning to next with the current state the world is in.

For one thing they have all decided that all the younger generation and previous generation of awakened will enter the secret realm to be able to awaken their bloodline or physique.

This announcement came the day after the meeting was finished and this caused a stir in the world.

They could have chosen to keep it a secret due to the Kyrexis cult, but the leaders decided to throw out bait since they wouldn’t want to miss this chance to kill the new generation of talented awakened in one calculated attack.

With them taking this into account they made sure to make preparations so that when the time comes they will be able to counter them and eliminate the vast majority of the cult’s forces.

Adam has also been busy this past week, he spend a whole week in the land where dragons live.

It was his great grandfather’s suggestion, to at least live and train in the land of dragons for a week at least.

This was where he will earn his place as the knew dragon heir and cement his rain as a dragon emperor.

[One Week Ago]

After the all race meeting Adam and his great grandfather arrived at the lad of dragons.

Upon arrivals there was a group of elders waiting for them at the entrance.

And the elder at the front was the head elder, his power was radiating that of a peak SSS ranked awakened.

"We welcome our majesty and dragon heir to the land of dragons." He spoke while taking a respectful bow, while also casting his gaze on Adam.

"I know that his majesty wants to have his own blood to continue the lineage," He said. "However i doubt a dragon who lived with humans and is still an A-rank can rule over all the dragons." He said while grinning.

The dragon emperor wanted to say something but Adam stopped him by walking toward, and with a flick of his hand came three dragon heads encased in a thick block of ice.

"I was able to kill three dragons that came to assassinate me during the attack of the academy." Adam spoke in a mocking tone, he knew that the elders sent these three to attack him since they confessed, he was also using this chance to find out who came up with this idea.

The head elder saw the heads and immediately recognized two of them, these where his grandchildren all of of them had their heads removed.

His aura flared and engulfed the whole area.

[Dragon Sovereign Aura]

Adam pushed his aura to the limit while trying to combat the aura of an SSS-ranked awakened.

Both auras pushed against each other until the dragon emperor decided to cut in and stop the interaction.

"What’s going on here head elder?" The dragon emperor spoken with a voice full of authority and power.

Being the only half transcendent in the world he was basically a demi-god.

"I saw these three dragons attacking my great grandchild, and he was able to defeat them even if they were above his rank."

"I wonder, why did you grandchildren attack my great grandson?"

Each word spoken sent shivers down the head elders spine, he didn’t know what to do in this situation.

His great grandchildren were killed, after he sent them on a mission to kidnap the dragon heir.

He thought that it was going to be easy, since they had more experience than him.

Not only did he find out that he was wrong, but their heads had been delivered to him completely covered in ice.

’What happened!?’ He thought to himself. ’I sent one elite dragon and two dragon commanders. And those two were my grandchildren!!’

He screamed internally, he was full of rage. From being unable to complete his task and also loosing his grandchildren in the process.

And he can’t say that he knew where they were going, the dragon race was strong but it also had its internal conflicts.

With the dragon emperor not having any descendants, the one who would take the throne was going to be one of the noble dragons heir.

But with Adam’s appearance their plans have been put on a halt, and now they had do decied on another way to have a claim to the throne.

Either by aligning their planes with Adam or killing him off, and that’s what the head elder decided but ultimately failed.

The elders factions was split into two, one supporting the head elder and the other was supporting the dragon emperor.

Both factions are basically even, with them having the same amount of supporters both in politics and military strength.

But due to the dragon emperor’s strength, the head elders faction hasn’t been able to gain dominance.

They knew that if it came to a battle, the dragon emperor will be able to defeat them without much effort.

The Head elder after knowing that the son of the dragon emperor’s granddaughter was alive, he tried to kidnap him and use him as a hostage in order to gain the upper hand on the emperor.

But now that plan has failed, and the price for such a failure was the death of his own grandchildren.

He couldn’t act in front of the dragon emperor, that would be the same as signing off his own death.

Seeing as how nothing was going his way, the Head Elder and his subordinates left in frustration.

"Are we really not going to do anything?" One of the elders asked.

"Yeah, even if he’s the emperor’s great grandchild I doubt we can’t handle some young brat." Another elder spoke up.

The Head Elder heard his subordinates words and was silent for a while.

"We can’t act ourselves especially when he is here, i doubt that old fox would let his only family member go around unprotected." He finally spoke up. "And besides, he was able to to defeat two true dragons and bring back their heads."

The Head Elders veins were bulging when he saw his grandchildrens severed heads.

The dragons were only sent to observe and they couldn’t act without receiving permission from the council.

The fact that they were caught interfering with the human world while they were facing a crisis, that alone is a violation of the law the council set.

And if they decided to take revenge so openly, it would mean that Adam’s mothers exile was unjustified if the elders protected their own family after breaking the rules.

"We can’t act ourselves but... we have other ways." He said with an evil grin.

Meanwhile.

Adam was walking down the hall with his grandfather and they came to a halt just near the training grounds, the whole place was spacious and the floor and walls were engraved with protective runes.

"This is my personal training grounds, this is where I’ll test your power and teach you our family’s arts for the next week." Spoke the emperor. "Meaning you’ll be sparing with us for the whole week, so I hope you prepared young one."

Adam just gulped while sweat rolled down his face. "I’ve gotten myself in a pickle here huh?"
