Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family-Chapter 222: Skeleton General
Chapter 222: Skeleton General
The skeleton slowly floated out of its sarcophagus with Dark and Poison mana gathering at its pores. Its bones slowly glowed a bluish green light as it got filled.

The whole chamber started to shake with a magnitude 7 earthquake, dust cascading out from the ceiling.
If it weren't for the magnificently crafted stone brick walls surrounding them, Michael was sure that the whole tomb would have collapsed by now.
He looked around and saw the Dark and Poison mana pillars around from earlier. But this time, its whole structure was starting to disintegrate and turn it into strings of mana that floated over towards the standing skeleton.
It sucked in all the mana from the tomb, absorbing everything even at the cost of fully damaging the very structure itself.
Michael could feel the power of the mana forming in the skeleton start to intensify even further and further as it continued to absorb everything.
At first, its power solidified into a single point, signalizing its return as a 1-star realm fighter.
But it didn't end there. The revolving necrotic energy in the air started to crash into each other, creating clumps that eventually formed into another giant ball of mana.
Slowly, these lights popped up one by one.
It only took a few seconds before the skeleton went from a 1-star undead creature into a 9-star undead monster. Facing such a legendary creature made Michael sweat for the first time.
He was so enthralled with seeing the formation of an undead creature that he completely neglected its inherent risk and danger.
Now, a 9-star skeleton with balls of bluish green eyes of light were staring down at him from its sarcophagus.
It raised its hand, gripping the air as if it still wielded a sword.
Then, it brought its hand down towards Michael with no added force, letting gravity do all the work.
Hairs stood on Michael's neck as he instinctively felt the danger coming towards him. He ducked down just in time as an invisible slashing force suddenly cleaved the entire hallway in half, turning its pristine stone brick walls into a lopsided structure.
Seeing its attack had missed, the skeleton raised its sword again and swung from the other direction, intending to separate Michael into a top and bottom half.
A mound of Earthen rock sprung up from Michael's feet, raising him up above the invisible slashing line just before it wreaked havoc onto the hallway again.
Michael knew he had to do something. He raised his hand and multicast 4-star spells [Blazing Sphere of Sun] and [Piercing Tornado] directly towards the skeleton, not caring even if the treasures beside the sarcophagus were disintegrated into pieces.
A big ball of fire manifested in front of him, about as big as the hallway itself.
He launched this mini sun into the skeleton, turning everything asunder in mere seconds as it exploded upon impact. It wasn't long before the gold coins and chalices started to meld into a liquid from the pure heat given off by the sphere's explosion.
And if that wasn't enough, a tornado formed inside the skeleton's sarcophagus, feeding the fire and increasing the temperature even further.
But still, the skeleton stood unmoving above its casket, with its bluish green motes of eyes staring lifelessly towards Michael.
Its Dark and Poison mana were too plentiful to be destroyed by Michael's 4-star spells.
Seeing that it wasn't enough, he cast [Freezing Tundra] as cold air breezed towards the chamber, freezing the flames and turning the liquid gold into solid form. Frost started to build on the skeleton's body, permeating to its pores.
That wasn't the end though. He cast [Great Wall of Earth], intending to bury the great general for another time in its life.
Pure earthen stone in the form of jagged spikes erupted from the floor and pierced towards the skeleton. As more and more of it grew from the ground, the entire tomb itself began to be encased in stone.
And for a second, silence reigned in the hallway.
"Woah, Master! That was close!"
Fudge had already turned back into his shadow form and hid under Michael's feet from the moment the skeleton started to move.
"Scary bones!" he said. "Can we go back home now?"
Michael also wasn't a fan of being slashed into half by an invisible sword. However, he did notice something weird from the skeleton.
Even though it had the magical power of a 9-star mage in its body, it barely used anything while wielding its 'sword'.
Now, Michael was glad that there weren't any relic weapons left behind in this tomb.
Just then, a prismatic shield showed up around Michael's body.
A few milliseconds later, the buried Earthen tomb exploded out into a million pieces, sending sharp cubed rocks flying towards the hallway, with each one as smooth as glass.
It caused further damage in the tomb, but were immediately disintegrated upon hitting Michael's prismatic shield.
"This guy must have been a tremendous swordsman in the past," Michael guessed.
Even without a sword in its hand, it could create devastating attacks through nothing but its stances alone. Michael guessed that it had some sort of 'Sword Intent' like the ones in anime and fantasy books.
Its mastery over the sword was so high that it could use just its bony fingers to act as its weapon.
That was the only explanation he could make for its weird attacks. After all, there was no mana in those invisible slashes. They were waves, like some sort of disturbance that created very sharp ripples around the mana in the environment.
He looked at the skeleton, seeing its rich Dark and Poison mana just staying in its bones idly.
Michael could easily leave the tomb if he wanted, but…he saw an opportunity to defeat it.
ChatJK3, can you analyze the skeleton?
He saw first hand how the necrotic energy empowered the skeleton to become an undead monster.
With ChatJK3's photographic memory, it was easy to reverse-engineer its process and completely undo the skeleton's very power.
[Understood… deconstructing Dark and Poison mana in the skeleton…]
Michael raised his hand and ripped away the skeleton's command over its own mana.
The strings of necrotic energy revolving around the skeleton started to shake and shimmer as Michael took control. The skeletons' individual bones started to click and clack as Michael ripped away its mana.
Then, a flood of information washed over his head, showing him the proper way to fully deconstruct the skeleton from its undeath.
Michael took advantage of the fact that the 9-star general skeleton had no recollection of what it was or what it could do. Only its muscle memory was retained, ironically.
He peered through the invisible realm of mana and saw individual fuzzy balls of black and yellow mana—Dark and Poison—which comprised the necrotic energy of the skeleton.
He began to separate the two mana, ripping each other away from their orbiting bond.
One of the light points inside the skeleton's ribcage died down and dissipated into pure Dark and Poison mana.
It was now only an 8-star undead.
Michael continued to wrestle away control of the skeleton's power, dissipating its points of power until it was just a mere 1-star undead skeleton. No longer was its presence as large as a mountain, turning it into just a small whimper of a mound.
He was about to snuff out the very life that infused the skeleton, when all of a sudden, its bluish green eyes of light looked at him with a sense of wonder, as if someone was trying to recognize a stranger from the street.
The skeleton then looked at its arms, confusion evident in its face as it saw nothing but bones making up its body.
Michael, amazed at what he was seeing, stopped his deconstruction of the skeleton.
Somehow, the skeleton became more conscious as it grew weaker!
