Reborn in the Survival Adventure Game-Chapter 25: The Big Drill Idea
Chapter 25 - 25: The Big Drill Idea
The morning breeze brushed through the trees as Caelen stepped outside. The air was fresh, the ground still a little damp from the recent rain. He walked over to the tiny farm he'd made and crouched beside the corn patch.

"Still slow, huh," Caelen mumbled, scratching the back of his head.
He stood up, stretched his arms, and stared at the sky. "It's gonna take days... I can't just wait around."
That's when his eyes narrowed. He remembered something. A big something. The mythril.
He turned his head toward the forest, where the deep cave was hidden underground.
[Google: Detect Mythril]
[Detected: Depth 100 meters. Status: Unreachable by normal tools.]
"Right... it's too deep to dig manually," Caelen said to himself. "I'd need a week just to reach it... unless..."
A smirk tugged at his lips. "What if I build something? A machine... something like a drill?"
He rushed back into his hut and sat down at the upgraded workbench. The mana crystal flickered softly in the corner, but he ignored it for now.
[Google: How to make a working drill?]
[Result: Components needed – Engine, Drill Head (metal), Frame (strong material), Power Source.]
Caelen leaned forward. "Engine? Frame? That sounds complicated."
He pulled out a wooden board and started sketching rough ideas with charcoal.
"Okay, engine... maybe I can build a basic one using gears and fire pressure? Drill head... I'll use iron for now. The frame? Wood and stone for testing. Power... maybe steam?"
[Google: How to build a steam engine?]
[Result: Requires boiler, water tank, heating source, piston mechanism.]
Caelen blinked. "Boiler... tank... piston..."
He looked around his storage. He had copper, some rubber, iron, and wood. "Maybe I can do this."
Just then, Zira walked in carrying a bundle of sticks. "You talking to yourself again?"
Caelen looked up. "It helps me think."
Zira dropped the bundle near the furnace. "What crazy thing are you making now?"
"A drill."
"...Like the spinny thing that digs holes?"
"Exactly."
She tilted her head. "Why?"
"To dig 100 meters underground and get some rare metal."
"You're insane," Zira said, grinning. "I like it."
Caelen smiled. "Wanna help me make history?" freeweɓnovel.cѳm
"Only if it doesn't explode in my face."
They spent the next few hours gathering more supplies. Caelen began shaping gears out of iron and crafting a small water tank using copper sheets. He also made a heating compartment using stone bricks and firewood.
He built a test model first—tiny, handheld. It barely moved.
"Okay... version one: trash," Caelen muttered, tossing it aside.
[Google: Suggest improvements?]
[Answer: Use pressure valve to control steam. Add insulation to prevent heat loss. Use metal pipes.]
Caelen followed the tips and slowly the engine took shape. He used rubber to seal the joints, and copper pipes to connect the water tank to the heating chamber. A simple piston moved up and down as steam pressure built.
The test drill spun—slowly, but it worked.
"I did it!" Caelen shouted, holding the shaking prototype. "It's alive!"
Zira clapped. "Now make it bigger and less scary-looking."
Caelen nodded. "This was just the warm-up. Now we build the real one."
He cleared out space behind the hut and began placing the drill frame using wooden beams and stone supports. He planned to install the main engine at the top, with a long rotating shaft that would push the iron drill head downward.
"Still need a better power source," he said. "Steam might not be enough."
But that was a problem for another day. Right now, he was too excited to stop.
As the sun set, Caelen stood beside the half-finished drill, covered in dust and soot but grinning wide.
He glanced at the sky. "Mythril... I'm coming for you."
