Chapter Ch101.2 - Extra 7: Little Overlord Shao SiJia (2)

Bai XiaoFei had never been so embarrassed in her life. However, she didn’t have the courage to scratch Shao SiJia’s face. With nowhere else to vent her anger on, she could only sob and run to Deng Han and complain.

Bai XiaoFei was a pretty girl and had a good track record, so she was popular in their department. Bai XiaoFei figured that Deng Han would be on her side on this. However, after hearing about their fight, Deng Han’s first reaction was to say: “Well, I’ll go and ask Shao SiJia about the situation.”

Then, he tried to comfort Bai XiaoFei with some half-hearted words: “Since you weren’t hurt, there’s no need to take it to heart. SiJia is still new here. Since you’re her senior, you should be more tolerant.”

Bai XiaoFei: “….”

Bai XiaoFei didn’t realize that at the moment, Deng Han was trembling and fervently thankful for the fact that Shao SiJia restrained herself when it came to the fairer sex. Otherwise, even ten Bai XiaoFeis wouldn’t be a match for her, ah.

After this scene, even if someone in the office was dissatisfied with Shao SiJia, no one dared to make trouble with her anymore. Unconsciously, Shao SiJia had become the resident tyrant in their department, despite the fact that she hadn’t even passed her probation period yet…

But not daring to confront her face to face didn’t mean that they wouldn’t criticize her behind her back.

Now long after, news of the failed collaboration with the Tongs spread, causing howls of discontent. The Tongs was the big customer everybody had high hopes for. If they had won this collaboration, the rest of the year would’ve been much easier for their department. Nobody expected such a shoo-in contract to fail, and it inevitably made everyone depressed.

Then, the reason for the collaboration’s failure came out. What’s more, Bai XiaoFei had found out about it and promptly began urging everyone to start a crusade against Shao SiJia.

And some people really were set off by Bai XiaoFei. Because if the Tong collaboration had been signed, they would’ve had the chance to get the company’s overseas travel award this year.

Shuttle Technology’s offices utilized an open floor plan, so Shao SiJia often heard their harsh remarks. At first, she simply concentrated on her work and turned a deaf ear to their words. She would either be on the phone with customers or be out visiting customers.

But two days later, when she arrived at work, she had a military knife in her hands.

Deng Han: “….”

Everybody in the office: “…”

Next to Shao SiJia’s desk was a potted plant of unknown species. When she sat down on her chair, Shao SiJia calmly pulled out the military knife from its sheath and smoothly stabbed it deep into the plant’s trunk.

As a result, the office was quiet once more. It left Bai XiaoFei furious.

That day, Bai XiaoFei waited until Shao SiJia left the office to visit a customer and united several of her dissatisfied colleagues together. They all went to Deng Han and tried to pressure him into punishing Shao SiJia. They suggested that he simply fire her directly.

They even had a legitimate excuse. This person not only affected the performance of their entire department, but she also threatened everyone’s mental health.

Deng Han was left feeling helpless. It was normal for the department to feel resentful. After all, it was true that this one contract with the Tongs had such a significant impact on their end-of-year performance goals.

What’s more, unless he could disclose Shao SiJia’s family connection with the boss, Deng Han didn’t dare protect her too much. Otherwise, his subordinates would feel that he was too biased and not a very good team leader.

Finally, after the extremely pressured Deng Han sweated for a while, Shao SiJia came back. As soon as she entered the door, Bai XiaoFei asked in a shrill voice: “Shao SiJia, how come you haven’t signed any clients after running around outside every day? How long will it take you to make up for the loss of the Tong collaboration?”

Bai XiaoFei had posed this question to Shao SiJia, but she mainly said this for Deng Han. If Deng Han still doesn’t say anything after this, their team will surely be angry.

Next to Bai XiaoFei, other people started to speak up too: “You go out for so long…how do we know that you’re really visiting customers and not lazing about?”

“While we’re working ourselves to the bone, you’re making excuses and hanging out at coffee shops?”

Deng Han: “…”

The workplace had always been a complicated environment to traverse, and this was even more true in the cutthroat business industry. Infighting and intrigue were rampant in their department. But as long as it didn’t affect their department’s overall situation, Deng Han would usually turn a blind eye. However, they were currently trying to crowd out their boss’s family member, ah. Deng Han really didn’t know what he should do in this situation.

These people were unknowingly seeking death, ah.

Just when Deng Han opened his mouth, he saw Shao SiJia grab the military knife she had stabbed on the plant. With a &#k2018;kacha-,’ she knife smoothly slid out, it’s blade glinting against the light. With her tone light, Shao SiJia said: “In the past, someone once doubted me like this&#k2026;”

The people united with Bai XiaoFei: “!!!”

The other employees: “…”

The male employees watching were inwardly bitter. To be honest, while Shao SiJia was gone, they had tried to pull the military knife out of the plant. But no matter how hard they tried, they couldn’t get it out…

How come Shao SiJia could do it so casually, ah…

Shao SiJia sneered, the waltzed up to Deng Han’s desk. She opened her briefcase and threw its contents onto the desk. Shao SiJia said: “These are my daily records. It details all my customer visits, all my phone calls. You can call each customer one by one and check.”

Use force before peaceful measures. Such decisive actions directly blocked all their suspicions.

Deng Han: “…” Unexpectedly, it seems that being quick to anger was sometimes effective.

Bai XiaoFei was speechless for a while. But she soon snapped out of it and replied: “Since you visited so many customers, then you should have garnered plenty of contracts? You know, whether or not our department can travel abroad this year depends on this…”

Before Bai XiaoFei could finish, Shao SiJia had already handed Deng Han a pile of documents. She told him: “This is the contract signed this week. Please look over it. If there are no mistakes, I’ll bring it to the legal department and to legalize it.”

Bai XiaoFei: “…”

Deng Han briefly looked over the document a few times, then smiled. “Not bad. I’ll read it now.”

Shao SiJia then said: “With this contract and all the previous ones I’ve managed to get, I’ll have recouped almost half the amount we lost from the Tong collaboration case. I’m visiting another customer tomorrow, and if it goes well, I’ll be able to make up for the lost amount completely.”

Bai XiaoFei: “…”

The people grouped with Bai XiaoFei: “…”

The other employees: “…”

Deng Han was pleasantly surprised. With a huge smile on his face, he laughed and said: “SiJia, you’re so capable, ah.”

Shao SiJia didn’t act proud and only replied: “Tomorrow’s customer is very important, so I hope you can help me talk to them.”

Deng Han firmly nodded. “Of course. Who are they?”

Shao SiJia reported the name of the company. After Bai XiaoFei heard this, she jumped and said: “That’s my client. Shao SiJia, how can you contact my client?”

To avoid vicious competition between colleagues, most companies implemented a customer division system where certain people had dibs on certain customers. Shuttle Technology was no exception.

The rules were simple: If you contact the customer first, whether it ended up with a signed contract or not, no other colleague could rob the customer from you.

The client Shao SiJia had mentioned was someone Bai XiaoFei had contacted first. However, Bai XiaoFei had a hard time working with this company and had never been able to get them to collaborate with Shuttle Technology. She never expected Shao SiJia, a newbie who hadn’t worked for long, to be able to pull such a grand client. If Deng Han really allowed this to happen, then Bai XiaoFei resolved to quit!

Deng Han looked at Bai XiaoFei’s client list, and sure enough, she really did contact this client first. Deng Han found this situation a bit difficult. Although contracts were important, rules couldn’t be broken. He could only look at Shao SiJia in embarrassment and say: “SiJia, you shouldn’t have contacted this client…”

Shao SiJia interrupted him and said: “It was the client who contacted me first.”

Deng Han: “….”

Bai XiaoFei was furious. “What a liar! I called this company many times before, ah. They refused to collaborate with us. How could they suddenly take the initiative and contact you?!”

Shao SiJia looked at her funny and replied: “Should you be asking yourself that question? Why didn’t you answer after they contacted you so many times?”

Bai XiaoFei: “…”

Deng Han’s mind started churning, and he asked: “SiJia, who contacted you?”

Shao SiJia said a name and told him: “It’s the director of their marketing department.”

Deng Han let out a meaningful ‘oh.’ He turned to Bai XiaoFei and asked: “XiaoFei, you were mainly in contact with one of their assistant director, right?”

As a long-time employee, Bai XiaoFei understood that a company’s assistant director couldn’t actually decide their company’s advertising plans and that only the marketing director had the power to finalize contracts. However, getting the marketing director’s contact information was difficult to obtain. Generally speaking, one would start with the assistant director first, then slowly try to get to the director’s radar.

However, the general staff also have their considerations. If they aren’t sure about the offered collaboration plan, they wouldn’t just hand it over to their boss. This was why Bai XiaoFei had called her contact so many times, yet still hadn’t produced a single contract. The assistant director she was in talks with simply wasn’t willing to pass her proposal over to their marketing director.

Deng Han asked Shao SiJia: “How did he end up contacting you?”

“I was just lucky.” Shao SiJia stretched out her hand and stabbed her dagger back into the plant. Of course, despite not stabbing it in the same position as last time, she still made it look like it didn’t take any effort whatsoever.

It caused everyone to shut up and listen to Shao SiJia’s explanation quietly.

Shao SiJia was a hard worker. Every day she would call countless customers and visit plenty of companies. As long as it was a business nobody in her department had contacted yet, she would call them one by one and offer contracts. If they haven’t signed in the initial phone call, she would visit them. Eventually, Shao SiJia had become a recognized figure by companies in the same industry. Shao SiJia’s sincere attitude and professionalism, regardless of whether she got a contract signed or not, made her highly thought of in their business circles.

Recently, there had been a gathering of some top people in the industry. The marketing director that was so hard to get in touch with had coincidentally attended this gathering. He casually mentioned to some people that his company was preparing to do a blitz of internet advertising this year, and unexpectedly, many of his associates recommended Shao SiJia. It made the marketing director curious, and eventually, he took the initiative and contacted her.

Also, Bai XiaoFei was a senior employee. She already had her hands on all the big companies, so she looked down on the smaller business and never bothered to contact them. She focused on the larger corporations and stuck the lower employees to the other, ‘less important’ companies.

So Shao SiJia was telling the truth when she said she didn’t contact Bai XiaoFei’s customers and truly did contact the marketing director in a bout of good luck. Bai XiaoFei had been too focused on the more prominent companies and let this opportunity go herself.

Everyone in Bai XiaoFei’s group was speechless, and Deng Han felt a little gloomy. Bai XiaoFei’s group had been relying on their good work performance to make trouble with Deng Han, but now somebody finally suppressed their arrogance.

Deng Han patted Shao SiJia on her shoulder and said: “SiJia, once you’ve passed the probationary period, I’ll assign you two assistants.”

Shao SiJia stared at the hand on her shoulder and then gave Deng Han a meaning full hum. It made Deng Han quickly take his hand back.

He glanced at the dagger stabbed on the plant and felt a lingering fear.

Ah, he almost lost his hand just now.

……

When Shao SiJia left work, the sky was still bright.

I the past two months, she had been making phone calls and visiting clients during the day, then sorting out contracts and documents at night. Sometimes she worked so late that she would meet Ke MuZi when she got out of work.

The concept of leaving work at the same time as Ke MuZi had become synonymous with skirting the edges of sudden death.

But in the end, the amount of money lost from the Tong collaboration had finally been made up. Shao SiJia, who hadn’t had a decent rest for a long time, finally breathed a sigh of relief. There was still a month left before she needed to go abroad, so if she were lucky, she would have a month of rest.

Shao SiJia left the Shuttle Technology building and was about to get into a taxi when she heard a surprised voice call out to her: “SiJia.”

Shao SiJia turned her head and suddenly went: “….”

The person who called out to her was a tall, well-dressed young man. He looked quite handsome.

But Shao SiJia didn’t feel the least bit happy. She even wanted to roll her eyes.

Because this person was the man she dumped a few years ago: her former boyfriend, Liang YanQing.

Liang YanQing quickly approached Shao SiJia, his face full of surprise. ” SiJia, we finally meet.”

A while ago, Liang YanQing found that his girlfriend, Tong SuHong, wasn’t in a good mood. At first, he didn’t pay much attention to it, but later, he overheard Tong SuHong calling someone and complaining about Shao SiJia. Only then did he find out that his lover and ex-girlfriend had crossed paths.

Liang YanQing’s long-silent heart burned once more. After so many years, he still hasn’t forgotten Shao SiJia.

Unfortunately, Tong SuHong refused to tell him where Shao SiJia was. LiangYanQing had to coax her for a long time before finally finding out that Shao SiJia was working somewhere in the Science and Technology Park. He didn’t even know which company she worked in.

But Liang YanQing’s obsession never faded, and he resolutely waited on the gates of the park several times after normal working hours. However, Shao SiJia usually stayed in work till late, so Liang YanQing never actually bumped into her. He had already considered giving up; his last effort paid off.

Liang YanQing gazed at Shao SiJia and felt like she hadn’t changed one bit. Even if there was something different about her now, all Liang YanQing could see was the young Shao SiJia, eyes full of pain and grief. Her expression that day seemed as if her breaking up with him was worse than death.

Liang YanQing was absolutely sure that as long as he was affectionate enough, strong enough, Shao SiJia would return to him.

So Liang YanQing looked at her affectionately and softly said: “SiJia, I missed you so much.”

Shao SiJia rolled her eyes and replied: “Miss me your ass. Get lost.”

After that, she got into a taxi and left.

Liang YanQing, who had been left behind: “?????”

The author has something to say:

At first, I planned to finish sister SiJia’s chapter here.

But who gave me that misconception?

Who gave me so much self-confidence?

I worked so hard, but I still ended up not finishing her story…

The next chapter is EVEN LONGER (This chapter was 7k, next chapter is 12k). I think author loves Shao SiJia haha
