Reborn Young Miss: Phoenix Burning Red-Chapter 433: Rewrite the Stars (3)
Lennox suddenly fell on his knees and pressed his forehead against the floor, his expression filled with grief. He heard his mother-in-law gasp but didn’t care; he only wanted to see his wife again.
"I’m willing to do whatever it takes to bring my wife back, Master. Please help her." He begged the monk. What was the point of having everything when the person he loved most was gone?
"Young man, you must understand that you will lose fame and success if you make this decision. However, if you intend to take this path, you free yourself and your wife from your fated ends." The monk responded with a compassionate smile.
Lennox raised his head and looked at the monk with a determined look. He would do anything if he could bring his wife back, even if he had to lose something in return.
"I understand, but still, I beg you to save my wife." He insisted. "I love her more than anything in this world."
The monk remained silent momentarily, studying Lennox’s face with an unwavering gaze. After a while, he finally spoke again.
"Love can be a powerful force, capable of changing the course of one’s life," the monk said in a measured tone. "But sometimes, our actions have unintended consequences. It is not always easy to discern the true path of fate."
Lennox felt a surge of frustration well up within him. He couldn’t accept that their love would bring about misfortune and tragedy. There had to be a way to defy fate—to rewrite the stars and create their destiny. He also knew that if he were in Adrienne’s shoes, she would do everything she could to do the same for him.
"If you go against your fate, you will face consequences, young man. Are you sure you won’t regret it?" The monk questioned him.
"Giving up your destined path can never be reversed once you make that choice," the monk warned solemnly.
"There’s nothing in this world that I would regret more than losing my wife," Lennox replied, his voice filled with determination. "I would rather face any consequence, no matter how dire, than live without her. I would never regret choosing my wife." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
The monk nodded solemnly, his eyes filled with sadness and understanding. He had seen many souls who were willing to take the path of defying fate, but few were as resolute as Lennox. It was clear that the love between him and his wife ran more profound than any obstacle they might face.
The monk remained silent as he looked at Lennox. The young man before him had a lot of potential and an unmatched determination. The monk knew that with such determination, Lennox would surely achieve great things in life; however, he was determined to have his wife more than the material possessions the world could give him.
A person like him was rare, as worldly desires and ambitions drove most humans. They lacked the purity of his love and the depth of his commitment.
The monk admired Lennox’s unwavering commitment to his wife, recognizing that true happiness and fulfillment came from the bonds of love, not worldly possessions. He understood that Lennox’s path might be challenging, but he believed in his ability to overcome any obstacle for the sake of love.
"Very well," the monk whispered. "If you are truly prepared for what lies ahead, I will guide you through the path of defying fate. But know this, young man, the consequences will not be easy to bear."
The monk sighed and said, "Okay, I will help her regain her consciousness, but I cannot help her face her inner demons. She would have to deal with it herself. Your wife is in her most vulnerable state right now; if she failed to face her fears and succumbed to them, she would die with a broken spirit."
Lennox’s heart sank at the monk’s words, but he knew he had to take it if there was even a glimmer of hope to save his wife. He nodded, accepting the consequences that lay ahead. He would give his all to bring back his wife, and he hoped Adrienne wouldn’t give up on him, either.
"Thank you, Master. I understand," Lennox said, his voice steady despite the fear growing inside him. "I will do whatever it takes to help her face her inner demons and bring her back ."
The monk rose from his seat and moved to the side of the bed to assess Adrienne. Her eyes were tightly closed, and her breathing was shallow. He glanced at Lennox and said, "A soul that shouldn’t be here in this realm. You know about this, are you?"
It wasn’t the first time the monk had encountered such a person, but being given a second chance by the heavens could be considered one in a billion, almost miraculous. He had thought he already understood the will of heaven, but seeing a soul that didn’t belong in this realm for the second time made him question everything he thought he knew.
Lennox nodded his head and remained silent. He hoped that Adrienne’s rebirth wasn’t the cause of her current condition, but deep down, he feared it might be. He feared it might be too late to save her.
Adrienne’s body appeared frail and fragile as if weighed down by the burden of her dormant consciousness. Lennox kneeled beside her and took her delicate hand in his own, feeling warmth emanate from their connection. He missed her smiles, the way she laughed, and the sound of her voice, which filled his days with joy.
Lennox knew that if he lost her, then everything would be meaningless.
No one else knew but himself that Adrienne had returned in time to save her mother and Myrtle from dying. Lennox thought if this was heaven’s way of punishing Adrienne for causing such a massive change in their lives, then it was unfair to her.
The monk placed a hand on Lennox’s shoulder, reassuringly squeezing him.
"Remember, young man, that love is not without sacrifice. It will test your strength and commitment in ways you cannot yet imagine. She would become your weakness and your greatest source of strength and motivation. Since you’ve chosen to be with her, you will face a greater consequence than you can comprehend if you break your words and forsake her in the future."
