He took a wrong step and instantly vanished from sight, using some unknown method. When he reappeared, he was on Li Zhirui’s left side.

The Water Cloud Spirit Bead activated in an instant, and clusters of white clouds blocked the outsider. With a thought, Li Zhirui summoned the Corrosive Water Gourd, unleashing a continuous barrage of Water Arrows at the attacker.

Bang!

A loud explosion erupted behind Li Zhirui. Another Cultivator had appeared behind him at some unknown time, smashing the white clouds with a giant hammer and even sending Li Zhirui flying.

If Li Zhirui hadn’t sensed something was amiss and hastily used the Corrosive Water to form a thick shield, that strike would have done more than just send him flying.

"Indeed, those who waylay others in the Great Void Province are no simple characters," Li Zhirui said somewhat disheveled, "It seems I haven’t chosen the wrong place for my training."

"Hahahaha!"

"So, you’re the offspring of some faction?!" The excitement on their faces grew as they yelled, "Then we definitely can’t let you go!"

"Is that so?" Li Zhirui raised an eyebrow, his face revealing a triumphant smile.

Bang bang bang!

Huge vines shot into the sky as if sentient, stretching out rapidly and dexterously towards the two assailants.

These vine seeds, which Li Zhirui got from Li Shiting and had cultivated several times in a space, had seen significant improvements in all aspects.

"Damn!"

The two watched in horror as the vines surged in from all directions, about to completely engulf them, and tried to escape before the vines could fully close in.

However, the sudden appearance of wildly thrashing barbed vines with their dancing thorns shattered their plans.

Each snapping sound that broke the silence testified to their terrifying lethality—ordinary Defensive Magical Artifacts would likely not withstand this onslaught.

Left with no choice, the two exerted all their might to cast Fire Element Spells, trying to reduce the vines to ashes.

But unfortunately for them, Li Zhirui was highly proficient in Wood-attribute Skills as well as Water-based Spells. The flames had barely begun to grow when they were extinguished by a lifelike Water Dragon.

The Water Dragon roared, unleashing a torrent of black arrows that howled towards the two, and the massive Water Dragon that followed swept its tail violently, shaking their Defensive Spiritual Light to the brink of collapse.

Meanwhile, Li Zhirui silently directed several resilient vines to creep towards the two men.

Bang!

The Water Dragon completed its mission to provide cover and ended its existence with a not-so-beautiful display of fireworks, successfully breaking the defenses of the two men.

The vines lay in wait, seizing the opportunity, and turned into a flash of green light, binding the limbs of the two men.

Li Zhirui, hidden amongst the vines, didn’t hesitate to control the Corrosive Water not yet absorbed into the ground to slay the two men.

After dealing with the two early-stage Foundation Establishment Cultivators, Li Zhirui didn’t show himself but stayed hidden, raising his voice, "Since all of you have come, why not show yourselves?"

Li Zhirui’s true level was at the late stage of Foundation Establishment, and his Spiritual Soul was much stronger than that of a typical late-stage Cultivator, so he detected another group early on!

They were clever, not rushing to reveal themselves but letting the pair of brothers take the lead to test Li Zhirui’s strength and tactics.

"My esteemed stealth technique was so easily seen through by you, no wonder you dare to train in the Great Void Province."

As the voice echoed, two men and one woman, all early-stage Foundation Establishment, slowly emerged from the shadows.

"And there’s one more of you who refuses to show themselves, so I’ll help you out." With that, a massive vine detached from the group and smashed heavily in a certain direction.

Swish!

A pale Sword Qi flashed by, severing it instantly. From behind the billowing smoke of the broken vine, a black-clothed, sword-wielding early-stage Foundation Establishment Cultivator walked out.

"Black Asura!"

Li Zhirui showed no reaction, but the other three were clearly frightened, hastily casting Defensive Spells and cautiously retreating into the distance.

"It seems you’re rather famous in the Great Void Province." The presence of this man alone was enough to drive back three Foundation Establishment Cultivators. Without impressive strength, that would have been impossible.

From that burst of Sword Qi, Li Zhirui was able to glean some clues. After all, his meticulously cultivated vines were not easily severed by anyone. He seemed to perceive a hint of Sword Qi.

Li Zhixuan didn’t know who would come out on top, herself or him, if they were to face off at the same level of cultivation. Li Zhirui suddenly wondered.

"You’re quite strong yourself, enough to pose a slight risk to me," the black-robed cultivator said icily.

"Is that so? Then I suppose I should consider myself ’somewhat’ honored," Li Zhirui retorted.

Before his words faded, vines once again tore through the space and attacked from all directions.

Li Zhirui also summoned the Corrosive Water Gourd, transforming it into various weapons that filled the sky with terrifying black light.

Yet, with just a few simple sword strokes, the black-robed cultivator easily shattered all of his attacks.

Li Zhirui’s expression grew serious. The opponent’s attack power was unexpectedly strong; he feared that without using his real strength, he wouldn’t be a match.

Li Zhirui’s hands formed a seal, his spirit light filled with an ominous pressure. A crystalline little dragon took shape in his palm, then soared into the sky, stirring up wind and clouds.

Cold qi enveloped the surroundings, and flakes of white snow began falling through the air. Looking up, one could see an immense Ice Dragon swimming across the sky, absorbing the spiritual energy between heaven and earth to strengthen itself, then, with a momentum that could tear through the sky, it charged toward the black-robed cultivator magnificently.

"If this is all you’ve got, I take back what I said earlier," said the black-robed cultivator disdainfully before slashing out a beam of Sword Qi.

"Hmm?"

The Sword Qi didn’t shatter the Ice Dragon as he’d expected; instead, it was frozen by a blast of Profound Ice Cold Qi and, subsequently, diverted back toward him.

The black-robed cultivator narrowed his eyes slightly and, with a movement of his sword-wielding right hand, unleashed dozens of beams of Sword Qi in the blink of an eye. The beams intertwined, creating a net of swords, their sharpness seemingly capable of tearing apart space itself.

Boom!

The cold Qi and the Sword Qi collided, generating a thunderous, earth-shaking noise. A white fog spread everywhere, obscuring the sky, with dazzling rays of Sword Qi mixed within. Even though the details were unclear, the terrible commotion was enough to show how fierce the battle was.

The three cultivators who had previously fled looked on with pale faces at the terrifying scene. Had they actually dared to obstruct a cultivator who was evenly matched with the Black Asura?

Had the Black Asura not arrived, would they not have already lost their souls to the Underworld by now?

The three exchanged glances and moved several miles further away in unison, ready to flee at a moment’s notice if the situation turned dire, but they would not let slip a golden opportunity if both parties ended up injured.

Thud!

The vines covertly controlled by Li Zhirui sent the black-robed cultivator flying, and the Sword Qi, now lacking control and empowerment, was instantly devoured by the Ice Dragon.

However, the formerly intact Ice Dragon was now covered in scars, with broken scales and a shattered horn, even the whiskers at the edge of its mouth was extinguished.

"Cough!" The black-robed cultivator wore a dreadfully somber expression. He sensed the movement of the vines at the moment they lashed out, but was entangled by the cold Qi that surged with a trace of Corrosive Water, making him vulnerable.

If he had drawn his sword to cut the vines, the Ice Dragon would have immediately swallowed the Sword Qi and lunged forward to attack fiercely, causing him serious injury.

Between two evils, he had no choice but to watch as the vines flung him away.

But he still underestimated Li Zhirui!

He thought that as someone in the early stages of Foundation Establishment without an enormous mana reserve, Li Zhirui wouldn’t be able to strengthen his vine attacks while controlling the Ice Dragon.

It was only when he was struck by the vines that he realized just how absurdly wrong he was; those mere inches of vine directly shattered his vestment robe and wounded his internal organs.

"No, that vine is poisonous!" the black-robed cultivator suddenly looked up, his usually calm demeanor now disturbed.

Li Zhirui said with a faint smile, "Didn’t you forget about my Ice Dragon?"

The continuously emitted cold Qi from the Ice Dragon was poisonous as well!

"You!" His eyes blazing with fury, he wished he could slay Li Zhirui on the spot, but his physical condition no longer supported his wishes. He managed to hurl out one more sword blow, hoping to stall Li Zhirui while he fled into the distance.

"Thinking of escaping now? It’s too late," Li Zhirui said coldly, and with a thought, the Ice Dragon exploded instantaneously.

Boom!

The mist of cold spread rapidly in all directions, catching up to the black-robed cultivator in a blink of an eye.

"No!" the black-robed cultivator cried out in despair, pleading, "I beg of you, let me go! I am willing to become your slave for life, to serve you!"
