Chapter 1820 – Sky Spirit Clan

It was a world of ice and snow. When one exhaled, their breath was turned to frost. It was extremely cold. As the space fluctuated, figures appeared one after another without a sound. Qin Yu’s face changed as he caught Cheng Haoran and retreated immediately! A moment later, the snowy ground that they were standing on exploded instantly, turning into powder. Terrifying power surged in the air violently.

Everyone’s faces changed slightly and they spread themselves out. They looked over with a vigilant expression in their eyes. But when they looked at who had done this, their faces changed again, and their eyes filled with fear.

Prison!

This time, Ninth Dao Master had only brought him. However, no one thought that this was strange. This was because Prison alone was enough to make all these cultivators from the different White Jade Capitals feel afraid inside.

Cheng Haoran was shocked and angry and he growled, “Prison, have you gone crazy? Why are you attacking us!” However, it was a pity that Prison was completely unaffected by his anger. A coldness filled Prison’s eyes as he raised his hand and then lowered it. The temperature started to drop drastically, creating cracking sounds as the air began to freeze.

Qin Yu punched out, shattering the frost energy around his body.

“Let’s go!” He yelled, before turning around and taking a step out. Cheng Haoran was unwilling, but when he thought about Grandmaster’s orders, he could only grit his teeth and follow behind Qin Yu. Then, they disappeared one after another.

Prison frowned slightly, because at this moment, there was a figure that appeared in front of him, blocking him.

A disciple of First Dao Master said in a low voice, “Prison, no matter the reason why you chose to attack, both of us entered this world for the purpose of finding World Origin. To prevent any accidents, it is best not to alert the living beings in this world…” He had only spoken halfway before a look of shock and fear formed on his face and in the next moment, a powerful blast erupted.

Boom –

A deafening sound rang out and this disciple of First Dao Master was sent flying back. When he was still in mid-air, blood spewed from his seven orifices and his face turned deathly pale. His eyes were widened, frightened, and shocked. Firstly, he never thought that Prison would attack him. Secondly, it was because…Prison was much stronger than he thought!

With one punch, Prison could send him flying. Without any hesitation, he set out on a chase to go after Qin Yu and Cheng Haoran, leaving all the other White Jade Capital cultivators behind. They all frowned, but only they knew how they felt inside. After all, Prison was too strong, and it was a good thing that he was targeting those cultivators from the seventh White Jade Capital.

Mokona said blandly, “Everyone, whatever happened probably concerns the enmity between two White Jade Capitals. It is not in our interests to interfere, let’s quickly do what we need to do.” When he finished speaking, he cupped his hands and added, “We shall take our leave now.” He turned around, bringing along two of his fellow cultivators and they directly disappeared.

“Let’s go too!”

“Prison has a perverted and strange temperament. He will naturally be punished by the Dao Masters for creating trouble; we do not need to interfere.”

“What’s important is finding World Origin!”

Whoosh –

Whoosh –

The figures left one after another.

At the same time, Qin Yu and Cheng Haoran were hiding from Prison. The good news was that First Dao Master’s disciple had taken a stand and blocked Prison for a while. This helped to prevent themselves from getting locked onto by Prison, gaining precious time for them to escape.

However, the problem was that Qin Yu was very sure that Prison could still get a vague sense of their location. As long as he did not waste any time, he could lock onto their position bit by bit. It was probably him that Prison was after!

It seemed that Ninth Dao Master had truly sensed something wrong about Qin Yu earlier, and Prison attacking him now was the best evidence of this. But why did he wait until now? The nine Dao Masters were gathered together just now; as long as Ninth Dao Master said the word, it would have been hard for Qin Yu to get away. Unless…Ninth Dao Master did not want the other Dao Masters to know about Qin Yu’s secret.

Cheng Haoran said, “Your Excellency, do we really have to keep on hiding like this?”

A brilliance shone in Qin Yu’s eyes and after a short pause, he said, “We will split up.”

Cheng Haoran frowned.

Qin Yu said blandly, “I am the one that Prison is going after. If you leave on your own, he will not pursue you…Dao Master sent the both of us to enter this world to get World Origin. We can’t get dragged behind by Prison.”

Cheng Haoran looked hesitant, “Your Excellency, are you planning to go against Prison by yourself?”

Qin Yu said, “He is very strong, but I am also capable enough to resist his attacks. If you stay behind, I will only get distracted.” Without giving Cheng Haoran a chance to speak, Qin Yu waved his sleeve and sent him flying away.

“We’ll meet again soon!”

Whoosh –

Then, Qin Yu disappeared.

Just when Qin Yu left, the space in front of Cheng Haoran distorted and shattered. Prison, who was wrapped in murderous intent, stepped out. His icy cold gaze swept across Cheng Haoran, whose body turned stiff. Then, he retracted his gaze and with a punch, he shattered the space and walked into the space crack, disappearing from this place.

Cheng Haoran let out a breath of relief and he could feel his back drenched in sweat.

Indeed, Luo Guan was right. Prison was truly going after him.

But…why? I am a disciple of Seventh Dao Master and I am a powerful individual who is one step away from the Eternal realm! But all you did was just look at me coldly and then you just left? Are you looking down on me?

This is infuriating!

Cheng Haoran had a gloomy expression on his face and he wanted to chase after Prison, to let Prison know that the books he studied for all these years were not for naught. Even though he was not that good-looking, he had developed many skills from acquiring all this knowledge.

His blood boiled with agitation and his heart raced…however, in the end, Cheng Haoran sighed and he looked dejected. Forget it, there was a saying in a book that a man should know how to assess a situation and know when to interfere and when to retreat.

Qin Yu is being chased by Prison, and his foundations are doomed to be destroyed. If that’s the case, then I will have to bear all of my master’s expectations. Therefore, I must work harder and not be held back by these matters, which will only ruin my master’s great plans!

Yes, that’s it.

Feeling strongly that he had to now bear a huge responsibility, Cheng Haoran felt much better as he turned to leave.

Whoosh

The space fluctuated and Qin Yu walked out. Now, he had reached the extreme north of this world. The temperature of the air was frighteningly low. An aura wrapped around him which covered all the pores on his body so that he would not be too affected by the cold, but even with Qin Yu’s cultivation, he could feel a prickly pain all over his body!

Taking a deep breath and then exhaling, Qin Yu did not continue to escape. He turned around to look behind him and quietly waited with a calm expression on his face. No matter the reason why Prison wished to kill him, if Qin Yu wanted his initial plans to be successful, he would have to take care of Prison first.

With a flap of its wings, the Oriental Great Bird soared to the sky. With a screech, it returned to its original appearance. The sky immediately darkened and a howling wind started to blow!

Boom

The space shattered and Prison walked out. He did not even care about the Oriental Great Bird which was gliding in the sky above and covering the sun. His icy gaze fixated on Qin Yu, and like invisible knives, it felt like his gaze could pierce through Qin Yu’s flesh and soul, killing him on the spot!

“Prison!” Qin Yu shouted, “I, Luo Guan, was invited by Seventh Dao Master to participate in this exploration today. I have never met you before and neither have I had any conflict with Ninth Dao Master before. Why are you trying to kill me?”

Prison was slightly stunned, as if he did not expect Qin Yu to be sitting around, waiting for him and even asking such a question. He paused for a while, but he did not answer the question. Then, he took one step forward.

Boom

The whole place suddenly sank. Within a thousand mile radius from where they stood, several enormous icebergs were directly split in half and crushed by the terrifying force! And these icebergs were merely withstanding the aftershocks of this force. Qin Yu, on the other hand, endured it head-on. Frowning, he raised his hand and the Mountains and Rivers Sword appeared in his hand. Then, he slashed outwards forcefully.

The suppression power was sliced apart by the sword aura. Prison was already approaching and Qin Yu raised his sword, ready to fight. Swift as lightning, their figures quickly entangled with each other. Every time they collided with each other, a deafening boom was produced and a terrifying aftershock was released and it swept across the surroundings. At this moment, this dead world of ice and snow was being stirred up!

This battle that was taking place in the extreme north created too much of a commotion, and it inevitably caused the living beings in this dead world to be awoken.

In a huge tent that was made from thick layers of animal skin, a bonfire was lit. A special kind of animal oil was added to this fire, which gave off a prickly pungent smell, reminiscent of a mix of horse dung and urine. However, enveloped by the shadow of death, the Sky Spirit Clan had no other choice. In recent years, the air outside was becoming colder and colder. This dead world was slowly losing its remaining warmth and they struggled to get by.

Suddenly, the tent was opened from the outside. A huge man rushed in and he was wrapped from head to toe in a robe made from animal skin. The only part that was not covered was his eyes. As he entered, a gust of cold air blew into the tent, causing the bonfire to become dimmer.

“Great Clan Elder, I felt a strong power fluctuation coming from the extreme north!” The huge man knelt to greet the Clan Elder and pulled down his thick leather hat to reveal his face that was flushed from the cold. There was an agitated expression on his face.

Great Clan Elder shifted to sit up straight and a brilliance erupted in his eyes, “Ah Bu, are you sure?”

Ah Bu replied, “The Snow Spirit Worms that our clan cultivated is are very sensitive to everything that happens in the northern snowy region. They are stirred up now, so it’s pretty much confirmed.”

“Wonderful!” Great Clan Elder stood up. Delight could be seen on his skinny and sallow face as he said, “Mobilize all of our sacrificial creatures and ride the snow creatures out to hunt. The flesh and power of these foreign invaders will give us energy to continue living.”

Ah Bu got up and hit his chest heavily. “Yes! Great Clan Elder, please rest assured, we will definitely bring the prey back!”

“No!” Great Clan Elder got up. The sound of his bones cracking could be heard and instantly, his body became younger. His elderly frame became healthy again, looking even stronger than Ah Bu.

“Great Clan Elder!” Ah Bu’s eyes widened.

“We don’t have much time left. Originally, I thought we would have to hide in the tent and suffer until death came…now, let me be the one to take action and hunt one last time for the clan. This is also the last thing that I can do for all of you.” Great Clan Elder’s voice was low and deep, and there was none of the tiredness that was there earlier. He looked entirely like a thirty-year-old man who was in his peak physical condition. A brilliance erupted his eyes and his aura was extremely strong.

Ah Bu’s eyes reddened, because he knew that Great Clan Elder had used his remaining vitality to transform into this physical state. Once his vitality ran out, he would die.

“Yes, Great Clan Leader!”

He hammered his chest heavily and strode away.

Very quickly, black figures walked out of the Sky Spirit Clan’s tent one after another. Fully wrapped in thick animal skin robes, they bowed to Great Clan Leader silently.

“Let’s set out!”

All of them got up and started to walk towards the snowy region in the north. Very quickly, their figures disappeared in the swirling snow.

At this moment, Qin Yu was still engaged in a battle with Prison. Prison was really very strong, even stronger than what was recorded in the jade slip that Seventh Dao Master gave to Qin Yu. Furthermore, Prison had cultivated techniques with some sort of frost attribute. In this dead world, these techniques with frost attributes were well-suited to this environment, which gave a huge boost to his existing cultivation power.

Both of them struggled to gain the upper hand as the power ebbed and flowed. Prison was very strong, and the fact that Qin Yu could persevere until now without using any of his burning incense power was because he relied on his Cosmic Seacross Bell. Otherwise, he would not be able to last. As for why he did not use his burning incense…there was not much left; he had to save it so that he could use it at critical moments.

“Qin Yu, something has changed in this snowy region,” The little blue lamp’s voice suddenly rang out in Qin Yu’s mind.

As Qin Yu’s Mountains and Rivers Sword slashed downwards, he retreated a few steps backward, escaping a blow from Prison’s attack. His face turned ugly. This bastard was truly a mad man; he did not back down at all, fighting with the mindset that everyone should die together.

“What changed?”

“Something is awakening.”

Qin Yu frowned internally, “There are still living creatures in this snowy region?” Previously, he had not sensed any signs of life.

“They aren’t normal living creatures. They’re more like elves that were condensed from this extreme cold environment. They are one with the snowy region, so it is very hard to detect their existence,” The little blue lamp explained slowly. “These elves had always been in a hibernating state. It does not seem like they were awakened by the battle between you two.”

Qin Yu asked, “Are you saying that they were awoken by others?”

“It is very likely.”

Qin Yu thought back to when he first entered the altar not long ago, when First Dao Master gave a reminder about this world’s native living beings!

Could it have something to do with them?

“Are these elves very strong?”

“A single one is not strong – you can even say that they are pretty weak. On its own, they can only cause a small area around them to drop slightly in temperature.” After a slight pause, the little blue lamp continued, “However, there are many of them.”

Qin Yu raised his Mountains and Rivers Sword, but then his whole body was heavily knocked backwards. He collided into an iceberg and the impact caused the iceberg to be torn as a huge crack formed on the surface. While all this happened, he gritted his teeth and asked, “So, what now?”

The little blue lamp said, “If everything proceeds as I anticipate, this snowy region will become frozen very soon and every living creature here will be frozen to death as well.”

“Can you trap Prison?”

“Yes.”

Qin Yu’s eyes brightened. “Wonderful!”

Boom –

He soared to the sky and as he raised his hand to slash down again, he yelled, “Prison, don’t run away. Today, we will fight it out!”

The little blue lamp asked, “You don’t seem to be worrying about yourself.”

“Of course – you are a big sun, why should I be afraid of being frozen here?” Qin Yu laughed as the Mountains and Rivers Sword slashed downwards.

In this snowy region, booming sounds continued to be produced from the collisions of their attacks. However, the wind started to die as the temperature started to plummet.

The thick snow, which was originally crystalline white, started to turn a light blue. It was almost as if someone had added some color to this pale, white world.

Yet, this color only meant absolute death and destruction.
