Regression - Second Chance At Life-Chapter 37: Xu Lin’s Curiosity

Adam walks into Xu Lin cleaning his room in her maid uniform, which is designed to be pleasing to the eyes.

Adam stops and admires the view as Xu Lin bends down to suck dirt from the corners between his bed and nightstand.

"And what about my body?" Adam asks. He wants to see if he can get a more bold answer from Xu Lin.

"Um...." Xu Lin hesitates while her head moves up and down, meeting Adam’s gaze and avoiding it again and again before she finally builds up the courage to say it.

"I think... Master Adam’s body is... really hot~" she says. If this were a cartoon, smoke would be coming out of Xu Lin’s ears with how embarrassed she is by uttering such words.

"Hahahaha," Adam suddenly bursts into laughter, startling Xu Lin.

Xu Lin blushes as the only thing she gave importance to was Adam calling her cute and beautiful.

"Does... Master really thinks I am beautiful?" she asks, looking up at Adam.

Adam stops smiling and stares deep into her eyes.

"Hasn’t anyone ever told you-you are beautiful?" Adam questions back. Of course, Xu Lin is a good-looking girl; if she weren’t, Adam wouldn’t have hired her at all.

Xu Lin shakes her head in denial. Indicating that no one has ever told her she was beautiful, but she is lying.

Her very first boyfriend constantly said how beautiful she was, but she thought he was looking at her with rose-tinted glasses. They did grow up as childhood friends after all.

Adam suddenly grabs Xu Lin’s chin with his thumb and index finger and makes her look into his eyes.

"Then let me say it. Xu Lin, you are a very beautiful girl, and you should carry yourself with the confidence of one," Adam says and caresses her face a little before letting go.

But this small gesture from Adam has Xu Lin’s heart beating crazily while she feels butterflies in her stomach.

Xu Lin is too innocent to survive against someone as cunning and twisted as Adam.
