Ray pulled out his sword and Mira’s spear from the dead wyvern and his system screen appeared before him.

[Congratulations! You’ve leveled up! You’re now level 15!]

[You’ve successfully defeated a level 16 Nestling Wyvern.]

’A nestling wyvern huh.’

’Now it all makes sense.’ Ray uttered softly in his thoughts.

Just like how there were different types of horses, dogs and chickens like war horses, race horses, guard dogs, hunting dogs and so on, there were also different types of wyverns as well, like the combat wyvern, nestling wyvern, tamed wyvern and elder wyvern.

Nestling Wyverns were the type of wyverns that primarily breeds with other types of wyverns and family of dragons like wyrm and drakes.

Their combat abilities were a lot weaker than that of other wyverns but they were still dangerous nonetheless.

If Ray had battled against a combat wyvern or elder wyvern, he definitely would have been killed already by now.

Ray had a hunch after confronting the wyvern back in the village, that it might have not been a combat type.

He had assumed this after witnessing the wyvern’s fighting pattern, but he hadn’t expected it to be a nestling wyvern because he wasn’t a Beast-taming expert.

A part of him initially thought it would have been a tamed wyvern , one that had turned wild again or had been treated roughly by its former master so it escaped, but in the end, it turned out to be a nestling wyvern.

Shrugging it off away, Ray suddenly noticed a new series of system logs appearing before him.

[Mana Beam: This skill allows you to channel concentrated mana through your eyes to release a continuous laser beam. Its damage increases with sustained fire and it can cut through stone and metal.]

However, this skill only affects targets lower levels or two levels higher than you .]

Upgrading of skills could always be done at a later period, so Ray saw no need for him to rush this right now.

However, a new prompt appeared in front of him once again.

’No.’

’I’ll take a look at them later.’

Ray swiped the screen away.

He was too exhausted to view anymore notifications right now, so he drifted his attention back to the wyvern carcass.

A few minutes later, Ray and Mira returned back to the village.

The villagers watched them walk back from across the field.

They could see Mira holding the two large wyvern eggs while Ray pulled the large wyvern behind him with little to no effort.

They watched them passed through the Northern pathway and everyone began to clap their hands simultaneously.

Not only had the two of them defeated most of the monsters that stormed into the village last night, they had also ensured the village recorded a really low number of death and injuries.

Many villagers owed them their lives now and they were prepared to do whatever it took to remain loyal to both Ray and Mira.

They immediately gathered around them, to help them with anything they needed help with and that included carrying the wyvern and the two eggs back to their house.

Mira giggled and smiled softly as the young girls gathered around her, eager to know more of her triumph.

Everyone were curious about how she had summoned the courage to fight against a wyvern, a terrifying monster that countless girls had only ever heard in tales or seen just flying high above their range of view.

The girls were also interested in finding out how the wyvern had been defeated as well.

As for Ray, fifty to sixty men tried pulling the wyvern carcass together as they tried to help him in their own little way.

Ray lifted his head up slowly and he could see his cute little sister dashing toward him with tear drops flying out of the edges of her eyes.

He smiled as he looked further behind the little girl and noticed his mother feeling relieved that her son had returned back safely, then he returned his gaze back to the people of Thornsville.

Allowing everyone to feel indebted to him made Ray feel a little bit happy and relieved because he knew he would definitely need this when the time comes in the future for the kingdom to view him as their greatest enemy.

Anyways, that would be a story for another time and not now.

For now, hugging his cute little sister and hopping straight to bed was high on his to-do list and that was exactly how Ray spent the rest of the day.
