Qin Hua lazily yawned and stretched out her arms. Her old mattress for some reason felt more comfortable than usual.

"Nnng... That was the best sleep I have had in years. Time to hit the books."

Her finals were only three months away and she needed to work hard.

All the top-tier universities required a staggeringly high score and it was important for her to get into one.

Qin Hua slowly rubbed her eyes and tried to get up. "Hmm?? Something feels weird."

Her body felt slightly sluggish and her bones seemed to be frozen in place.

And now that she thought about it her eyes also felt extremely tired with her eyelids probably swollen and weighing a dozen pounds at the least...

"Hmm?? I don't remember crying yesterday night?" Qin Hua was confused.

Even though swollen eyelids and wet pillow covers were not exactly new to her, she still felt that something was off.

"Ahh... Yesterday!!"

Her head throbbed as she finally recollected the terrible things that had happened yesterday night at the New Year's family gathering.

"Why did I have to be so damn dumb? Always a weak little damsel in distress!!"

Tears whelmed in her eyes as she cried out loud in frustration. Argghhh...

Actually, it was more like a... Woof... But she was too tired to notice the weird barking sound.

"Wait a second. If I was poisoned yesterday, then how come I am still alive??"

"All of it was just a bad dream?? It felt so real though..."

While she was still trying to figure things out, her stomach loudly grumbled, instantly pulling her attention to that organ.

"Guess everything can wait until after breakfast."

As Qin Hua flailed and fumbled about in her bed, trying to get up, a strange new voice sounded near her.

"Ai little white are you awake already? How are you feeling today little guy?" An unfamiliar male voice murmured.

Huh? What the hell? Why is there a random guy in my bedroom??

Qin Hua started panicking.

Maybe her family did not poison her after all. Rather it looked like they had drugged her and sold her off??

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

She struggled and tried to open her damn eyes or at least move away from the villain but nothing seemed to budge.

Noticing her discomfort, the male voice immediately moved closer to her.

And the next instant, something cool and refreshing covered her eyes.

Water? Eyedrops? Qin Hua was not sure, but she was able to slightly open her eyes now.

Everything looked very vague and hazy, but she could make out some sort of outlines.

Qin Hua gasped in surprise. This was definitely not her house, so where was she?

As she craned her neck to look around, a pair of eyes met her anxious glare and stared right back at her.

It looked like someone was standing next to her. That too so close...?

Qin Hua subconsciously reached out with her hands to push the intruder's face away, when finally the harsh reality struck her.

She halted mid-air, frozen in her tracks. Her... her hands??

In the place where her human hand should be, there instead was a small snow-white furry little limb with a paw.

Qin Hua stared in a daze and waved her hand around. And surprisingly the paw as well seemed to be moving!!

As her eyes darted here and there, examining the small furry limb, something else was gently shoved into her mouth.

A sweet liquid slowly trickled down her throat.

At first, she wanted to spit it out, but it felt good and more importantly helped calm down her grumbling stomach.

So she didn't resist it and instinctively sucked on it.

Tiredness settled in again, and Qin Hua faded into a deep slumber, with her mind and heart completely muddled in confusion.

Two days quickly passed by just like that.

Nothing really changed in this short time span, except that Qin Hua looked a lot more rested and healthy.

Oh and also... she was a dog now!

To be more precise, she was a newborn white Siberian husky pup.

Disappointment and frustration filled her heart as she thought about her previous life's grievances.

Even though she was reincarnated the very next day, she still wouldn't be able to touch the family that betrayed her and killed her.

It took her a few days, but Qin Hua eventually accepted her fate and prepared herself mentally to brace the reality.

She was not exactly sure what had happened. She could only roughly guess the series of events.

Most probably she had died from her vicious family's sneaky poison attack.

Then by some miraculous turn of events, she ended up being reincarnated, but as a puppy.

And also, she was lucky enough to still retain all her previous life's memories.

Qin Hua didn't know whether to laugh or cry. The 15 years old human girl suddenly became a cute puppy overnight.

As if this wasn't shocking enough, something even more surprising greeted her as well, a system!

While her mind was still reeling from the fact that she was a dog now, a blue screen akin to a video game interface suddenly popped up in front of her face and scared the bejesus out of her.

Qin Hua had not really spent a lot of time playing games or engaging in other leisurely activities.

She had always been a one-track horse, completely focused on her grades.

But her roommate, Wan Wan used to play quite a lot of these games, and later even complained to her in detail about some drop rates and whatnot.

So Qin Hua could easily understand some of the terminologies in this new blue screen that seemed to pop out at her will.

______________

Name: Qin Hua

Race: Common Beast

Species: Dog

Level 0 (0/200)

______________

Health: 10

Strength: 1

Agility: 1

Stamina: 1

______________

Qin Hua stared at the screen for a long time. Too many twists and turns, new and inexplicable things had happened to her in the recent past.

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. This was her life now. She needed to accept it.

Qin Hua looked at the blue screen again.

Health points should be her total health quantitatively. Strength, agility, and stamina were all pretty self-explanatory.

Even with her melancholic mood, she couldn't help but rejoice slightly. This looked awesome!!

What would happen if she actually leveled up like those video game characters??

Maybe this second life as a puppy wouldn't be that boring after all?!

As she was happily daydreaming, a warm voice sounded near her. "You seem to be doing much better today."

Ah, crap. How could she forget this voice?!!

Leaving everything aside, there was still the matter of her new master!

Damn it! She was someone else's pet now!
