Hedas paused mid-laughter as he sensed a presence.

"So, bro Hedas," another rabbit hopped in. This one was bulkier, broader in the shoulders, and dressed in a pristine white suit. "You made sure the pure soul got the ’free’ system, right?"

"Haha, of course. I gave it for free. I’m honest and just," replied Hedas with an internal smirk.

But he could only pretend to not sweat when he was pressed further, "You sure?"

"Yes, yes. Absolutely."

The bulkier rabbit stared at him for a moment longer before letting out a short, "Fine," and hopping away.

Only then did Hedas grin ear to ear.

He turned around and pulled a gigantic computer out of his black bag, followed by an exquisite chair that looked suspiciously like a Pebblesurious gaming seat. Sitting down, he tapped the keyboard thoughtfully.

"Hmm... maybe I should issue a world quest..." he snickered, "it will help that brat greatly."

Pebbles had an eventful meeting in the Land of Souls, one he would never forget, even if he wanted to.

At first, he hadn’t understood Hedas’ words. But now, suspended in a weird darkness, he had more than enough time to think.

However, he felt the dark around him was more chilling than most. Unlike the land of souls where he saw familiar figures, here, there was nothing. It was like absolute void. Maybe that caused fear.

Whenever Pebbles tried to move, he felt resistance, as though he were trapped inside a confined space. A small one.

He might have remained there forever if not for a familiar blue screen flickering to life in front of him, similar to the one he had seen on the Ocean of Life.

On that, there were certain words. Pebbles could read them; he didn’t know how, and could understand them.

He started to comprehend it. His memory felt chopped. But as he stared at the texts and recalled the rabbit’s laughter, he finally realised what was going on.

In absolute sense, it was a beautiful word. Pebbles didn’t force it out; it just came naturally. If anything, he could sense even more natural words flowing out.
