Chapter 668: Chapter 668: The Gentle Push

"What the fuck was that?" The Lion Prince bellowed out in rage as he saw a line of magic shuttles burst into flames after being divided into two each.

The Lion Prince, majestic with a mane filled with coursing purple electricity, pounded his paw angrily on the metal platform of his command shuttle.

"Hmm, it’s that guy," A calm and collected voice echoed into the chambers of the Prince’s vicinity.

It was the voice of another prince, transferred from the other arkship via a warp signal.

The holographic figure of this calm and collected lion appeared next to the Electric Lion Prince.

From the single horn and the green fur on the calm lion’s holographic body, one could tell that he was a Veggie Lion.

The floating holographic screens beamed down an image of a lone figure clad in a white robe, holding a sword in his hand.

"Who is that?" The Veggie Lion Prince asked.

"I don’t know, I don’t remember anyone with his description on my target list.

Do you think he’s strong?"

The Electric Lion Prince asked with his mood changing from angry to excited.

The Veggie Lion Prince’s green eyes also gleamed with excitement.

"Well, he took out a lot of our shuttles with a single swing of his sword. He must be strong."

"Good, then the reward for killing him will be massive.

Do not take this away from me!"

The Electric Lion Prince was already tapping on a holographic keyboard in front of him with his claws and issuing commands to the Vassals who were piloting the shuttles.

Unfortunately...

"Wait, what’s that!"

"Don’t try to stop meeeee!"

"No, I’m serious!"

The Electric Lion Prince reluctantly put down the command to fire some cannons and turned his head to the screen.

Indeed, something had happened.

A newcomer appeared.

////

Ren was flabbergasted.

He had just finished showing off his fantastic sword skill which no one besides Shuri actually appreciated.

He kept his stance and composure the way it was supposed to be.

He was ready for Shuri to take the next step and test the waters of these invaders.

Just then, without warning, he had a hand clasped over his face.

Just like that.

He did not sense anyone coming toward him. The owner of the hand seemed to have just appeared like a ghost.

Ren, without it being his intention, opened his mouth and his tongue touched the center of the palm.

It tasted like life and death seasoned with a touch of mystery and everlasting intent. Ren did not even know that such a taste profile could exist, he just instinctively knew that that was what it tasted like.

In between the fingers, Ren’s eyes could see the face of the person holding his face.

Long wavy blonde hair, a few strands of which were falling over her shoulders. Her green eyes were calm and piercing, as though they could see everything he had done in the past with that simple look.

Instantly, he recognized her based on just the humanoid appearance. They had all received intel on the most powerful lions and lionesses to watch out for.

Ren had memorized all of them.

This was Memphis, a tier 7 lioness and the oldest entity in the lion civilization.

What was she doing here?

The world seemed to be frozen and moving at the same time.

Shuri and the Horse Governor’s eyes were opened wide in shock. All of them including Ren were tier 6, which was why they were so confident that they could handle any invasion from the lions.

It wasn’t like they were going to send actual kings to come to this planet which they didn’t even know was the homeworld of the Hyena Primordial.

"Coincidence? Or causality?" Memphis asked herself under her breath. Ren heard her.

His mind ran fast. He thought of pleading for his life but he remembered that he was under a loyalty contract with President Musty.

And this Memphis was clearly for the opposition. Why should he negotiate?

So he did the only logical thing he could do.

Ren’s hand, which had been by his side and still holding the metal-glass-like sword, moved.

His arm broke the speed barrier, slashing out with the intent to cut all that was in front of him.

*BOOM!*

*Crack!*

Memphis moved slowly.

Ren moved very fast, so fast that his arm could barely be seen.

Yet, their arms clashed at the same pace.

How?

Memphis had casually raised her hand up but time had acted funny, giving the illusion that it was moving very slowly.

Anyone, even an ordinary person would have seen the trajectory of her hand. Yet it was still fast enough to precisely block Ren’s sword slash at the wrist.

The back of her hand hit Ren’s exposed wrist harshly.

The resounding crack was the sound of Ren’s bones shifting from their original spot.

All this with Memphis’s hand still grabbing his face.

The pain was so abrupt that Ren’s grip on his sword inadvertently weakened.

That was enough.

Memphis’s fingers flicked like a magician’s and Ren found that his sword was no longer in his hand.

Before he could react properly, Memphis pushed him down gently.

*BOOM!*

*BOOM!*

*BOOM!*

Three booms were heard along with the appearance of visible shockwaves that spread to the horizon.

Ren’s body blasted downward like a super bullet launched from a galactic sniper rifle.

It was just a gentle push, but his body was still smashing through the inner guts of the planet. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

The force was too much.

His body was strong and he moved so fast that the earth melted rapidly around him after coming into contact with his fast-moving body.

By the time Ren stopped moving, he was submerged completely in molten lava and was struggling to maintain a clear mind.

He was utterly dazed.

Meanwhile, the world above acted like it was experiencing some sort of lag or time glitch.

It was only two seconds later after Ren was shooting into the planet that the earth above collapsed on itself and finally formed a crater thousands of kilometers wide.

Shuri stared down at the destruction with her mouth open.

Conflict.

So pure.

So pure it got her frightened.

Thousands of hyenas who had been in the way were flattened to paste or exploded into blood mist.

She looked back almost instantly, her combat awareness screaming for her not lose sight of the enemy.

At least, the Horse Governor did not remove his gaze from Memphis, even though he was equally as shocked as they were.

Tier 7 was strong, indeed. But didn’t Memphis just dispose of Ren a little too easily?

She didn’t use any special powers as far as he could sense. All he saw Memphis do was mysteriously take away his sword and push Ren away slightly.

That was all?

There was no way in the myriad heavens that Tier 7 entities had it so easy that they could get rid of Tier 6 entities like that.

It was preposterous.

"You..." Shuri was saying but was silenced by the gentle kick that hit the side of her face. She shot to the east faster than the speed of sound.

Shuri was close to the Horse Governor, and the Horse Governor had already seen Memphis disappear from her position.

He instinctively raised his hands to protect his head. He made the right decision as after Memphis kicked Shuri to the east, she waved her hand back to deliver a backhand slap.

The Horse Governor felt his arms become numb as he blasted to the west.

Now, Memphis was all alone in the sky, standing still so that the lions above could see her properly.

Her encounter with all three of them had not taken more than eight seconds to complete from start to finish.

Ren and the others would swear that it took much longer but that was just from their perspective.

And she disposed of Shuri and the Horse Governor while holding that sword in her hand.

Clearly, Memphis did not want to kill any of them as she could have easily ended their lives with the sword if she wanted to

With her figure floating in a manner that let her back face the descending fleet, Memphis looked upon the world with hidden scorn and disdain.

Her black dress fluttered in the hot afternoon wind.

"It feels...different," Memphis muttered, observing the sword in her hand with curiosity.

She wasn’t talking about the sword, she was talking about herself.

She could feel the depths of her powers and understood that there was so much more she could do besides those casual punches and kicks.

Every movement she makes causes time to expand and retract around her. For now, she was akin to a clumsy giant that was still learning how to walk without flipping the world over.

Suddenly, a sharp and intense gaze shone from her green eyes. Memphis held the sword and pointed it at the vast armies of hyenas assembling under her.

Behind her, beams of cannon blasts flew over her head.

"For the Conquering!"
