Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 679: What Is The Original Heaven?
The expression on Memphis’s face remained casual. Through her mind, Kael.was being observant.
He truly couldn’t care less about those threats even if they were not empty. It wasn’t like he was down to his last drop of blood, why should he just give up and accept defeat?
Just because this immortal was threatening him?
Rather, Kael was paying extra attention to everything that was being said to Memphis.
He read meaning into every word.
So Seth also knew about the Highest Will?
So the Original Heaven was more complex than he thought?
So there was already a plan to get rid of him and the lions?
So there was trouble brewing in the upper places?
Kael also guessed that there must be some powerful lions in Original Heaven for trouble to originate from there. He wondered just who it was that was causing all this trouble.
Kael also wasn’t that frightened by the idea of so many factions coming together to wipe out the lions.
As a matter of fact, Kael likes it. Kael had a power-based mindset and was choked up with grand ambition.
There was a natural filter in his mind at this point that made him try to differentiate between what had to be done and what had to be said.
If anyone spoke to him, attacked him, or did anything with him, Kael’s reaction would be based on how that action could increase his power internally and externally.
When Seth threw all those threats at him, the first thing that came to Kael’s mind was how he could use those threats to increase his power over the lions.
And there was a way. With so many enemies on all sides, Kael could further strengthen the US versus THEM narrative, unifying the lions and allowing Kael to have more control.
So, those threats that Seth was throwing out were acknowledged, but they didn’t have the intended effect.
"More enemies?" Memphis asked, "So what?" She asked.
Seth chuckled, a little vexed at not seeing the fearful or confused expression he wanted to see.
"Okay then, there’s no need to waste words with you.
If we don’t get the Primordial Rat, we’ll just have to kill you to get it.
You’re just another variable in the grand scheme, Kael. Don’t let the little power that you have blind you.
And just in case you don’t know, Ibadon had recovered his full power. If I was you, I would be very careful of my movements.
Not that it will change the inevitable anyway."
After that, Seth flew away. He flew to the west, the same direction as the territory of the Destruction Dragons.
He had said all he had to say, all that remained was for him to wait patiently and see if anything would happen.
Memphis followed his rapidly moving figure with her golden gaze, keeping her eyes on him until she could no longer see him.
Because Kael was not merely viewing a memory but also actively using the processing speed of an immortal like Memphis, his mind and consciousness could keep up.
"He’s not lying you know," Emperor Zain suddenly said after Seth was gone.
Memphis turned to look at the Emperor.
"How so?" She asked, curiosity filling her eyes.
"His threats aren’t just empty words to make you afraid. They will happen.
At least, I even know that the lions have some really powerful haters in Original Heaven," Emperor Zain said.
Then, he turned around to face the river again. Once again, he went on his knees to continue his lonely mourning ceremony.
"Well, you heard him, we already have enemies. There’s no point in trying to delay the inevitable.
Whether our end comes now or in the future, he seems pretty adamant that it will come.
So let them all come."
Emperor Zain chuckled, "You are arrogant, indeed. Makes me wonder why I’m still honoring this alliance."
Memphis shrugged her shoulders, "Victoria did not die so that you can call off the alliance whenever you want.
Something tells me that if another person had died in Victoria’s place, you wouldn’t have honored the alliance deal as much."
Emperor Zain’s smile went stiff before slowly disappearing. His aura surged before becoming very calm again.
Wasn’t she All-King the reason why he was being so sorrowful at the moment?
"Only you know the weight of the burden you carry, which is why you sought the alliance in the first place.
But anyway, I did not send Memphis here to motivate you.
Tell me about the Original Heaven," Memphis said.
Emperor Zain sighed. He could be angry at Kael all he wanted. It wouldn’t change the fact that he was the one who ended Victoria’s life by himself.
Emperor Zain was not irrational.
Concerning the question that Memphis asked, Emperor Zain smiled.
"I’m assuming you have sent some people to check out or investigate Original Heaven and your findings are not to your liking, right?"" Emperor Zain asked.
Memphis nodded, "Precisely," She said.
"Well, it’s just whatever you think it is.
The Original Heaven is the first heaven to appear in the universe, according to some.
It is also the place where entities beyond the level of Immortal visit frequently.
You can think of the Original as a central hub in the universe, a place where many hidden monsters go to every now and then to ensure they are not kept in the dark on the happenings of the universe.
There are lions, tigers, dragons, elephants, all manner of winged beasts, and almost every single creature that the universe has ever produced can be found there.
Heck, even Original Primordials, Primordials who did not sacrifice themselves to create their race, have been spotted there.
If you go there, you might not come back out anytime soon.
That is why the scouts you sent haven’t reported anything back to you.
Anyone can enter at any time. But there is a set time and place for leaving the Original Heaven.
If one doesn’t pay attention, they may end up being here for the rest of their life.
That is how it is, that is how it has always been.
That is how the Highest Will wanted it.
