Reincarnated as incubus: I didn't mean to seduce you!-Chapter 698 - 226 Lady Adela, You Wouldn’t Want Your People to Suffer Heavy Losses (10.2K)
Under circumstances unknown to many, the borders of the Duchy of Lancaster had quietly undergone some changes.
The speed of information dissemination was swift, and it wasn't long before this matter reached the ears of those in Lion Heart Castle. One could imagine that yet another tumultuous night was unfolding.
Kael was not very well-informed about the relevant details, but he had a vague sense that the atmosphere throughout the entire Duchy of Lancaster had grown markedly tenser of late.
However, he soon lost the chance to dwell on this subtle atmosphere.
The demands from the Sky-splitting Knight for a new generation of armored knights, specifically Gluttonous Slimes of an enormous size, were absolutely not something Kael could handle well by remotely managing the Slime Ranch in Lancaster from afar.
Kael had always been this kind of person; if others treated him well, he would try to reciprocate.
Since his meeting with the Sky-splitting Knight was overall pleasant, he did not hesitate to head home immediately to secure new equipment for this group of people.
Being as cautious as he was, he had instinctively smelled the scent of gunpowder in the air.
The faster the new-style army proceeded with the equipment upgrades, the clearer it indicated that the demand for military force was increasing.
This was common sense that even a child could grasp.
Sometimes, the harbinger of war is not necessarily a conflict arising at the borders with the enemy, but instead, a silently growing internal stockpiling of immediate combat capabilities.
Kael was the Lord of Lancaster, but he had no intention of developing Lancaster Territory for the rest of his life.
Building power now was to secure more gains in the future; thus, even for reasons of self-interest, he needed to pay close attention to the assignments from the Lion Heart Battle Group.
As for the fact that the largest Barbarian tribe, 'Tribe,' lies right next to his own lands?
What a joke, the 'Tribe' was nothing more than a loose alliance. If they dared to send organized Barbarian squads to attack his territory, that would already be commendable for their bravery!
It just so happened that some volunteers within his territory expressed a desire to sample the taste of Kael's Gluttonous Slime...
I mean, others with combat capabilities within his lands wanted to truly let go of the past and start their own new journeys.
Now, with greatly increased demands for armored knights, Kael himself could hardly suppress his urge to take action.
This time, Lancaster's new guinea pigs... I mean Elf Rangers.
These rangers, capable of exhausting a common man on the couch with their long legs, were quickly turned into an immediate combat force for Lancaster, despite the fact that, apart from the Elf Clan's notorious "unaffordable A," they remained an enormously coveted group.
Unfortunately, Elf Rangers, who are normally the type who would maddeningly kite their enemies, especially after mastering compound bow technology in this world, saw their long-range combat capabilities increase to an astonishing degree.
Upon seeing the new concept of "Longshot Strike Team" proposed by their new direct superior, the Elf Rangers, who devoted their lives to pursuing the "Divine Arrow," were instantly enamored with the idea.
The grand vision that Kael painted looked so appealing to the elves that many could barely contain their excitement.
However, when Kael returned to his territory, the senior sisters among the Elf Rangers soon realized they had made a grave mistake.
Was Kael's idea impressive?
Every elf would compliment, "It's really impressive," then immediately attempt to flee.
Elves of this era were not as naïve and unsophisticated as those of the contemporary Supreme Forest; they instantly perceived the guile in their superior's intentions.
The Gluttonous Slime was known to digest many Elf Rangers who had fallen on the battlefield. Usually, the Slimes would digest without concern, not bothering to ponder what exactly they consumed.
But Kael was different.
After all, Kael was a standard Spellcaster, someone filled with longing for the origin of bloodline power.
Now, having allocated most of the Slime Queen Aister's computational capabilities to analyzing the sources of bloodline power, he expected to unravel some interesting findings over time.
For starters, in this world, both animals and plants possessed a cellular-like structural concept, but what was fascinating was the vast difference between creatures recognized by the world and the Monsters that had not received such acknowledgment.
Once Kael had collected bloodline data from most of the main races of the continent, he soon discovered that, at least in terms of the 'cellular-like' structure of their bloodlines, all recognized sentient beings willing to fight for the continent were essentially one and the same.
Conversely, beings like Monsters, whether or not they had intelligent thought and independent consciousness, exhibited a wild variety of bodily structures.
Some were even bizarre silicon-based life forms that could not be traced to any source.
Decrypting Monster bloodlines turned out to require far more computational efforts than the bloodlines of the continent's major races. Despite similar numbers and types, the computational resources needed for Monsters was more than fifty times that needed for the races of the continent.
This revelation was indeed a surprise for Kael.
