Chapter 205: Floor Guardians

"Is that so?" Aura nodded, finding it reasonable. After all, Shido truly was a strong being. Even though she and Shalltear had tried to conceal their location, Shido still managed to find them, and even identified that both of them were together.

"Yes, anyway, I wanted to thank you for bringing me to a safe place," Shido said, though he couldn’t help but wonder if this place could really be called ’safe.’

"E-Ehehehe... Actually, it was Shalltear, the other person with me, who suggested that we take you in. I didn’t really do much."

Aura felt a bit embarrassed when Shido thanked her, especially since she could sense how genuine his gratitude was. Still, her lips twitched as she remembered the real reason Shalltear decided to bring Shido to their base. It wasn’t to save him, Shalltear simply had her usual impure motives. Aura sighed inwardly, thinking that Shalltear really was a bitch.

But in the end, she couldn’t entirely blame her. Even Aura herself found Shido’s appearance captivating, as if he were a perfect being standing closest to a god. He was so handsome, his attire was majestic, and the aura he exuded was both domineering and gentle, creating a calming presence that made Aura feel strangely comfortable around him.

Still, what truly drew Aura to Shido were his crimson eyes, marked by a strange spiral pattern that seemed to pull one’s soul into the abyss.

Shido could feel the change in Aura’s gaze, and he immediately understood the reason behind it. Realizing that Shido had noticed her staring, Aura’s face grew hot and a blush crept to her cheeks.

"A-Ahaha, anyway, I’m Aura Bella Fiora, a Floor Guardian of the Great Tomb of Nazarick." She tried to mask her embarrassment by quickly introducing herself and changing the topic, but the flush on her face remained clearly visible, softening her usual boyish demeanor.

"...."

"My name is Itsuka Shido. Nice to meet you, Aura-san, you can also just call me Shido." Shido played along, introducing himself with elegant composure as he stood and extended his hand toward her.

"...Un, Shido." Despite her embarrassment, Aura reached out her small hand and shook his.

’It’s so rough, but... somehow, it feels really warm.’ Aura found herself dazed as she held Shido’s hand. It was the first time she had ever held a man’s hand, aside from her overly feminine brother and it felt strangely wonderful.

"..." Demigure

Shido didn’t mind holding her hand a little longer; it felt nice, her small yet soft hand fitting perfectly in his grip. The atmosphere in the room turned strange but strangely intoxicating, a quiet tension hanging between them. freēwēbnovel.com

However, hat tension was shattered by Demiurge, who could no longer stand being ignored.

"You damn inferior creature, how dare you ignore me?!" Demiurge snapped, on the verge of exploding. His lips twitched as he watched how easily Shido made Aura soften toward him, fueling his irritation further.

"Oh, right, you’re still here. Who are you again?" Shido finally turned toward the furious Demiurge, tilting his head slightly as if he had only now realized he was even in the room.

"You—"

Veins popped on Demiurge’s temples, a clear sign of how annoyed he was. If it were up to him, he would have already fought Shido to teach him a lesson. However, based on what Shalltear and Aura had told him, he knew Shido was quite strong, and defeating him might not be easy.

"Ah, Shido, his name is Demiurge. He’s the Floor Guardian of the Seventh Floor and second only to Albedo," Aura quickly interjected before Demiurge could explode, stepping in to introduce him to Shido.

"Oh, I see."

Shido nodded as if he understood, though he didn’t particularly care about Demiurge. What truly caught his attention was the name Aura had mentioned.

Albedo.

"Hmph!"

Seeing that Aura didn’t allow him to lash out, Demiurge snorted, taking a deep breath to calm himself. Even though Shido’s attitude irritated him to no end, he had to admit that the man picked up by both Aura and Shalltear was indeed mysterious, yet undeniably infuriating.

"Our Lord, the Supreme One, Ainz-sama, wishes to see you," Demiurge said after regaining his composure, adjusting his glasses with a cold glint. His tone was calm, but there was a clear threat laced in his words. "You will come with us. Or else, I might have to force you."

Aura, standing to the side, let out a small sigh. Demiurge, who was usually calm and composed, couldn’t seem to handle speaking with Shido peacefully, most likely because of his ingrained racial superiority.

"Okay, I don’t mind."

Both Demiurge and Aura had expected Shido to put up some resistance, but it seemed he was far easier to persuade than they thought. In truth, Shido simply had nothing else to do in this room, and it would be far more convenient to meet Ainz again alongside the Floor Guardians.

Besides, he was particularly interested in seeing Nazarick’s overseer, Albedo. He wanted to see for himself whether she truly was the beautiful ’Pure-White Devil’ they claimed her to be.

Without waiting for their response, Shido walked toward the door and placed his hand on the handle, pausing as he noticed the two still standing there, unable to react.

"Are you coming or not?" he asked, glancing back at them calmly.

"Ah, wait!" Aura snapped out of her daze and hurried after Shido.

Meanwhile, Demiurge adjusted his glasses with an annoyed click and snorted before following, taking the lead to guide them toward the throne room.

"Don’t wander around, or I can’t guarantee you won’t die," Demiurge warned coldly as they walked.

"Yes, yes." Shido replied lazily, waving a hand dismissively as he followed without a hint of fear.

"..." Aura

...

"They’re taking their time, making Ainz-sama wait." Albedo muttered, tapping her fingers impatiently against her folded arms, her golden eyes narrowing with annoyance.

She stood near the top corner of the throne room, a short distance away from Ainz, who was also tapping his skeletal fingers against the armrest of his throne in quiet rhythm.

Below them, the rest of the Floor Guardians, Cocytus, Mare, and Shalltear, stood assembled. Off to the side, the Pleiades battle maids were lined up neatly, with Sebas standing in front of them, his posture straight and dignified.

"I am curious about the person you have brought, Shalltear," Cocytus rumbled, turning his cold, insect-like gaze toward her. Shalltear, who also looked rather impatient, clicked her tongue softly as she glanced toward the throne room entrance.

Aura didn’t allow her to come with them since she knew that Shalltear might do something inappropriate and jump on Shido shamelessly. That irritated her and both of them scold each other before Demiurge stop them and decided to come instead of Shalltear.

However, Shalltear’s irritation faded when Cocytus asked her about Shido.

"Him? Oh, if I had to describe him, I’d say he’s like an angel... yet also a devil." At first, Shalltear was startled by Cocytus’s question, but she quickly brightened with flushed face, explaining with excitement. "He’s so strong, and honestly, he’s the most handsome man I’ve ever seen in my entire life." As she spoke, a lewd smile crept onto her face, her crimson eyes glinting with longing.

Cocytus and Mare listened intently, neither of them noticing Shalltear’s perverted smile, as her words only deepened their curiosity about this mysterious person.

However, Albedo, who appeared to be deep in thought, was in fact listening closely to every word of their conversation.

Albedo also noticed Shalltear’s dreamy expression as she spoke about him and felt a surge of anger at the thought that Shalltear’s love for Ainz might have been replaced by someone else. Yet, as the thought settled, Albedo realized it might actually work in her favor, allowing her to have her dear Ainz-sama all to herself.

With that comforting thought in mind, Albedo let out a low, barely noticeable panting sound, her golden eyes darkening with desire.

Meanwhile, seated on his throne, Ainz was also curious about the person Shalltear and Aura had brought back. It was strictly forbidden to bring outsiders into Nazarick without his permission, so he had scolded them harshly for their actions. However, the way both girls described this individual made Ainz wonder if the person might be a Player.

Ainz was already considering various possibilities, whether to eliminate the man immediately if he proved to be a threat, or to offer him a place within the Great Tomb of Nazarick if he saw merit in him.

In the end, Ainz shook his head, deciding it would be best to meet this person first, and make his decision after seeing him with his own eyes.
