Reincarnated as the Weakest Magical Beast-Chapter 100: Amaras battle second stage (1)
Under Amaras’ rule, five champions had once been chosen to stand beside him against the forces of Darkness. They were his most loyal warriors, his most gifted, his kingdom’s strongest.
The first two were twin brothers and also happened to be his most prized students, personally trained by the Lion Sword King himself. Their swordsmanship was the stuff of legend, said to be terrifying, transcendent, and almost divine. Even among all the heroes of Arventia’s history, only a rare few could have matched their skill.
And now... those same warriors were charging straight at Emilia!
Even in death, they remained monstrous!
The twin knights moved in perfect unison, their massive greatswords rose, glowed with red sigils, before cleaving down with the force of a thunderbolt!
WWOOOSH!
BOOM!
BOOM!
The ground didn’t just crack—it erupted! Their blades gouged twin chasms into the stone, molten red energy searing through the fissures like veins of fire. Smoke and dust billowed upward, swallowing the field.
Emilia leapt aside at the very last instant, rolling through the dirt as the shockwave blasted past her.
"Damn!" she hissed, glancing back.
One look at the impact zone told her everything. If she’d been even half a second slower, her body would’ve been split clean in two. No question about it.
The zombie soldiers from before had been mindless fodder, but these two? They were an entirely different breed!
What the hell was this sudden difficulty spike?!
And yet, despite the danger, not an ounce of fear stirred within her. Instead, her lips curled into a grin beneath her mask.
"Interesting," the Silvervein girl murmured, brushing the dirt from her shoulder.
Finally—finally—an enemy worth her time!
Her heart pounded with exhilaration.
Time to see just how far she’d come! 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
The twin Deathguard champions advanced again, their armor clanking in eerie harmony. Each swing was like a collapsing mountain: fast, brutal, and precise!
BOOM!
BOOM!
Shockwaves blasted out and shook heaven and earth.
Every miss left craters in the ground, tearing apart the battlefield. Stone and ash erupted in every direction, turning the field into a wasteland of fractured terrain.
Yeah, these were all Cleaving Strikes, meaning: AOE attacks!
These area of effect attacks were something that Mary had mentioned.
That was why Emilia had told the others to stay back.
Because one, she was sure she could deal with the two on her own. And moreover, Mary and Aron wouldn’t have lasted a second in this death zone; one misplaced step and they’d be pulp beneath the twin’s blades.
Of course, as 4-star dungeon mini-bosses, the current strength of the twin knights was far below what they’d once possessed in life, their power likely suppressed by the Goddess who ruled over Duskwald. Still, for any adventurer under level 40, they would have been a nightmare incarnate.
And so, for several minutes, Emilia danced between their swings—watching closely, dodging, weaving, memorizing every pattern. As long as she kept a cool head and sharp eyes, avoiding their blows was no problem.
Soon enough, she’d finished analyzing. She was a genius, after all.
The knights’ movements were perfectly synchronized, yet rigid—predictable once you caught their rhythm.
Emilia’s old teacher at the Silvervein Clan had been far more terrifying than this.
"Alright," Emilia muttered, black flames flickering along her blades. "Enough dodging."
The twins charged again, their swords gleaming crimson as they crossed paths in a deadly scissor slash aimed for her waist.
Now’s the chance!
Emilia moved fast—blindingly fast! She dodged the twin blades cleanly, leaping high into the air as the deadly scissor strike sliced through empty space beneath her. Then, just as the colossal swords completed their arc, she landed lightly atop their flat edges—boots skimming against cold steel.
Using them as a springboard, she pushed off with explosive force, propelling herself forward like an arrow loosed from a drawn bow! The air cracked from the sheer momentum.
Her twin blades burned with Flamme’s black fire, the dark flames curling hungrily along the edges like living serpents. Sparks scattered as she aimed to strike both champions in one decisive blow.
Now then... can I kill these two in a single slash?
A grin spread beneath her mask. Excitement surged through her chest—she was dying to find out!
But—
FWOOM!
Her attack stopped short. The impact jolted through her arms, halting her mid-swing. Her eyes widened—her blades hadn’t met the deathguards’ steel... but two floating skulls!
They had appeared from nowhere, intercepting her strike in perfect unison. A heartbeat later, they exploded—
BOOM!
A violent burst of red-and-black smoke erupted, rushing toward her in a churning wave of corruption!
"Tch!" Emilia twisted midair and backflipped away, narrowly escaping the spreading fumes. The blast singed her cloak as she landed, boots skidding against broken stone.
"Hah... so you’ve decided to join the fight, huh?" she said with a crooked smile, raising her guard.
Her gaze snapped toward the source—a figure standing behind the twin knights.
A mage.
No... a lich.
The third Deathguard stood unmoving, shrouded in malevolent stillness. Once, he might have been strikingly handsome, with flowing white hair that framed sharp features—but now half his face had rotted away, exposing pale bone and crooked teeth beneath tattered flesh. His hollow eye sockets blazed with crimson fire that burned faintly through the gloom.
He wore no armor, only tattered robes of shadow that seemed to swallow the light. In one skeletal hand, he clutched a gnarled staff crowned with a big and creepy skull.
As the lich raised his free hand, more skulls materialized from the air—seven in total—each wreathed in ghostly flame, orbiting him like a constellation of death.
He lowered his arm and pointed directly at Emilia.
Instantly, the flying skulls attacked! They shot toward her at terrifying speed, slicing through the air with shrill, whistling screams!
But Emilia had already learned her lesson from the first two—she knew exactly what to do now.
She couldn’t let those skulls get anywhere near her; if they did, that poisonous smoke would blast right in her face!
So, she had to strike from a distance.
With twin swords in hand, Emilia unleashed a flurry of seven quick slashes!
Each swing sent out a blazing arc of black fire that roared across the battlefield.
And the moment those arcs collided with the skulls—
BOOM!
Explosions erupted one after another, each followed by a surge of thick, red-and-black smoke!
Just as she’d expected. Good thing she’d acted fast!
However—while she was focused on the lich, the twin knights were already moving!
Somehow, they’d closed the distance in an instant and appeared right behind her, their massive blades already mid-swing!
But Emilia wasn’t caught off guard. She’d sensed their movement—she was ready to dodge!
Or so she thought.
Just as she tried to roll aside, her body froze.
"What—?!" Emilia’s eyes widened in shock.
She glanced down, and her heart skipped a beat.
From the ground beneath her feet, dozens of shadowy hands had erupted, their inky fingers coiling tightly around her legs, dragging her down, refusing to let go!
