Reincarnated With the World Domination System-Chapter 9: Rael’s Virtual Reality Room and Dominica’s avatar
Chapter 9 - Rael's Virtual Reality Room and Dominica's avatar
Of course I want to sleep more, Ali! I'm going to practice so many things in the virtual reality room. There's no need for me to be jealous of your watch anymore!
It was true that Rael was jealous of Ali's watch, because his turn to receive one was still far away.
It wasn't an issue of age but rather of Rael wanting to try the newest technology as soon as possible.
Now, however, he had something even the sisters at the orphanage would envy: his own personal virtual reality.
Virtual reality itself wasn't a foreign concept.
People on Earth also had access to it, but it was militarized and reserved for training soldiers, mock battles, or colonization simulations.
Common civilians couldn't lay their hands on it.
Rael, however, was like an excited kid who simply plopped onto his bed and closed his eyes.
A moment later, he felt an invisible pull around his head that transported him to a new world.
[You have entered your personal virtual reality training room.]
"Welcome, Lord Rael."
Upon opening his eyes, Rael saw a tall woman in a long white lab coat over a black shirt and pencil skirt, standing on black heels that made her tower over him.
For six-year-old Rael, she was already massive, and he could see little beyond her body as she stood just inches away.
Their gazes locked, revealing a mix of emotions in her slightly droopy orange eyes, even though her face remained almost expressionless.
Her pale skin contrasted with her black, drill-like curls and those captivating orange irises.
"Dominica! Your avatar is gorgeous!"
"Thank you for your compliment, Lord Rael. I'm satisfied and happy as well."
"You don't look like you're happy. Are you struggling with showing your emotions?"
Dominica paused, pondering his question.
She knew how humans typically expressed happiness and tried to form a beautiful smile, though it appeared awkward.
Still, Rael chuckled, and his grin grew in response.
"It seems I'm not used to a human body, even though I possess vast knowledge of human and humanoid races. I request permission to use Lord Rael's virtual reality so that I may delve deeper into the emotions of living beings."
Rael nodded.
"This is our virtual reality room. Use it whenever you want. I still think you'll learn more about humans by socializing with them alongside me. You'll be able to put your knowledge to use in real situations, not by yourself in this virtual reality."
"Understood. That being said, it seems Lord Rael's social anxiety isn't triggered by my appearance. I'm no longer just a voice in Lord Rael's head."
Rael scratched his head.
"Well, it's true. We've been together for six years now. So what if you were just a voice until now? You're my precious partner. I'd hate myself if my social anxiety had been triggered. I'm glad it wasn't. We can keep working together the same way, although it'll be even more fun like this."
"Lord Rael's heartbeat has increased significantly."
"It's because... you're showing too much cleavage. It's not really a big deal, though. I just have to get used to it."
"That suggests Lord Rael does not wish me to button my shirt. I researched modern fashions and found that many women reveal ample portions of their figures. I also cut my pencil skirt to show more of my thighs. Based on my knowledge, Lord Rael's reaction is a normal response from a healthy man. I will monitor Lord Rael's heart rate and cover myself more if it approaches a dangerous threshold."
Rael nodded in resignation, aware that she had figured him out.
Normally, lust began with physical reactions that the mind shaped over time, but Rael's reincarnated circumstances made it different, even though he currently had no hormones.
He was simply interested in women now that his social anxiety wasn't limiting him.

It could be said that the interest he'd suppressed in his past life now came out in response to someone as beautiful as Dominica, who was truly devoted to him.
"Now that we've confirmed Lord Rael's social anxiety has even less hold on him and he's a healthy man—"
"I didn't come here to confirm that, but it's still good to know. And it's even better to know you don't mind!"
Rael raised his voice like the flustered teenager he was.
"I exist for Lord Rael's sake. I would never mind. Shall we proceed with your first training?"
"Ah, yeah..."
Suddenly, Rael realized he truly was a master with a loyal, reliable, and gorgeous partner.
Dominica turned around and walked forward in a stiff, robotic way, nearly tripping like a patient fresh out of surgery.
Rael caught her before she fell and helped her remain upright.
Although her graceful aura seemed to vanish, Rael found her even more endearing and relatable.
"My deepest apologies, Lord Rael."
"I don't mind at all. It's actually nice to see you're not perfect."
"I don't understand what's happening. Walking, running, and even crawling are simple motions whose principles I fully grasp, yet they're so difficult in practice."
"Someone once said humans are complicated. But I think some things just take experience and persistence more than anything else."
"Understood, Lord Rael."
They walked to the center of Rael's training room, a vast white space with only four walls.
Rael and Dominica could summon anything here, though it required experience points.
After recent expenditures, Rael had 15,500 EXP, which seemed substantial but really wasn't.
"I need you to check my blueprint. Once I create my first Steelborn, I'd like something like an MMO inventory to store them until they're sentient. Is that possible?"
"It is. I'll verify how much EXP a Steelborn Inventory requires after I examine your blueprint. Meanwhile, you can begin the first training I prepared, which won't cost any experience points."
[You have received a new daily quest.]
[Defeat a bandit!]
[Reward: 100 EXP]
In the middle of the room, a man in ragged clothes formed from swirling red particles, his eyes empty until consciousness returned.
"Where am I?!"
He then saw a system prompt.
[Defeat Lord Rael.]
[Reward: Freedom.]
He glanced around for Lord Rael.
Meanwhile, Dominica delved deeper into this projection.
"It's a projection of a bandit from a low-level world where civilization lags behind due to magic and monsters. He was once a villager who turned to banditry because of poverty and steep taxes imposed by his noble. His desperation to defeat you stems from a desire to return home and continue stealing from merchants for his own survival and that of his family."
Rael found the bandit's story surprisingly heavy.
He clenched his fists and looked at the bandit.
I have someone to fight for and reasons to become stronger: for myself, for Dominica, for the orphans. I must get better in all areas!
